Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
Jennster · 08/02/2007 22:32

Keep telling dh we need to go to ikea. Need some of those plates. Are they microwavable?

Am off work tomorrow. Pulled a psycho hormonal crying fit at work on Wednesday when I found out that all the lieu hours I earned over christmas and new year (as all the bank holidays were on my days off) had to be claimed as days off by the end of January, or paid for them. Now any holiday or time off has to be booked nearly 2 months in advance, so how the frig am I meant to book off time in lieu I haven't accrued? They didn't ask me if I wanted the days as lieu or paid. Think they realised they weren't being reasonable when they kept refering to a memo they 'sent to all branches' in May. This was when I was on maternity leave. Anyway I'm meant to be doing some CPD tomorrow, but DD has chickenpox, so can't go to nursery. Am absolutely knackered. Feel like shit, look like shit and pissing myself every time I cough. Had to buy some tena today. Just vomited my dinner up violently while coughing and pissing myself (at least I was on the loo)

DeputyMacDawg · 08/02/2007 23:03

Oh Jennster.
Not well and work treating you like crap? I am on your behalf.
(but can't resist posting this , sorry )

The plates are micro-safe. We also have the bowls.
I loooove IKEA, but don't get to go very often

Jennster · 09/02/2007 09:54

You want me to piss myself don't you!

VoodooWizbit · 09/02/2007 14:04

VoodooWizbit · 09/02/2007 14:04

recipy/recipie?????

Jennster · 09/02/2007 15:42

RECIPE

Jennster · 09/02/2007 15:48

Put dd down for a nap this morning and thought I would go back to bed and read for a little bit. I closed my eyes and thought well if I sleep, DD will wake me when she does, and if I don't it's well earned rest instead of rushing around putting washing in the machine, cleaning up breakfast etc. Anyway just as I was thinking 'well I'm not sleeping so might as well get up and have a shower' I woke up and it was 1pm! I had slept for 2.5 hours and dd 3!

She is still getting more spots so won't be going to nursery next week. At least she has her appetite back. She is nappin again now......

VoodooWizbit · 09/02/2007 18:05

yeah, my dd had a 2 hr nap today 11am-1pm. Nice lunch time break. I read Closer magazine.

I seem to spend all day either cooking or washing up. I dont get it?

I make a tuna/broccoli bake thing, froze 5 portions and fed dd one, guess what, she hates it.

I better hope she forgets she hates it, IYKWIM.....I may have put too much tuna in.

come on MDog, spill your casserole recipe!!!

(but RECIPE still seems odd?)

VoodooWizbit · 09/02/2007 18:08

oh shitski...

just realised in the passionate email I sent to Organix complaining about their grammar...I spelt RECIPE wrong?!!!!!!!

and sent an email to the nhs today chasing their response and they said theyd sent me a letter 5 days ago, well, I never received it. Wonder who they sent it to?
By the time Id got that email and a copy of the missing letter it was too late to ring and 'discuss' my complaint, as I should've done 5 days ago
gawdon bennet! Is it worth it?

VoodooWizbit · 09/02/2007 18:09

what a pANTS day.

maybe I should get some Tena in, just in case, eh!

DeputyMacDawg · 09/02/2007 18:45

PMSL at Voods grammar

Time to cook with MacDawg

Take a quite big cooking pot with lid.
Put it on a low heat.
Cut fat off a couple of Pork escalopes and cut them up into really small chunks (i use scissors for this cos i'm not allowed sharp knives )
Chuck pork into pot. Stir occasionally.
Peel a sweet potato and cut it up into tiny cubes, add to pot. Stir occasionally.
Chuck in a cupful of frozen peas and a tin of drained sweetcorn. Stir occasionally.
Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and lob in some herbs (I like italian herbs ie oregano/basil). Stir well.
Turn heat down as low as you can and ignore for a couple of hours, apart from the occasional stir.

Last night I also filled the tomato tin with water, added it and a couple of handfuls of macaroni for a bit of a change.
I also chuck in veg like broccoli, red pepper, mushrooms etc depending on what's lying around.
It also works with beef, tuna, chicken, venison, lamb etc.
Got 17 portions out of mine last night

Catch you all later

VoodooWizbit · 10/02/2007 15:03

woweee sounds easy enough for me.

Now I will look for pork escalopes in Tesco on Monday...

I am doing a shepherd's pie tonight yumsters.

it's poll time...

DeputyMacDawg · 11/02/2007 16:40

Please can I have another rant about my PIL?
No?
I'm gonna anyway !!
Yesterday we left dd with them. Dropped her off at 11.30 saying we'd be back about 3.30/4ish.
The only instruction we gave was that she was due her lunch, and after lunch could they put her in her pram and take her out for a walk so she'd sleep.
We arrived back at their house about 3.40 to be greeted by the sight of them taking the pram out and the words 'Oh she was having such fun playing we didn't want to disturb her. dd out of her box with tired by this point. Slept for about half an hour then proceeded to scream for the best part of an hour.
I just get so that we only asked them to do one thing and they didn't even do that.
It just leaves me really unwilling to leave her with them again. What if one day I need to trust them to give her a dose of medicine and they don't bother their arses .
I'm only leaving her with them to stop them nagging me, not because I really want to

Thank you for listening . Feels better to get it out here, or else my PIL will disappear under a big molten stream of crazy!!

Jennster · 11/02/2007 17:30

Think my first single was a 7 inch Kylie single I Should Be So Lucky! My first albums were Voice Of The Beehive (don't know the name) and Eurythmics Greatest Hits on tape.

Jennster · 11/02/2007 17:52

And feel free to rant about pil, that's what we're here for.

Didn't think dd had chickenpox too badly, until this morning. Poor little girl. There is no way she isn't going to have at least a couple of scars on her face. I sent a text to my mum and mil on friday saying she only had about 20 spots. I think now she has about 200 just on her head! She is soooo clingy at the moment.

I feel like poo still. Have appt with Dr on Tuesday so hopefully get rid of this sinusitis once and for all. I'm sleeping really badly and coughing so violently I'm wetting myself all the time. Thank goodness I bought the Tena. Anyhow, when my sister asks why I'm so ratty, KNOWING I'm pregnant, not well and haven't been for SEVEN weeks, am knackered and she's a flaming DR!!!! It makes you wonder. She has just started an Obs and Gynae rotation. Oh she will learn I think!

DeputyMacDawg · 11/02/2007 20:52

Tea and Hob-Nobs for you Jennster.
And a gallon of Calpol and Calamine for your dd (not as a cocktail though, obviously )

worleythewisp · 11/02/2007 20:53

my mil was the same, she went on and on about us leaving ds1 with her for a while, so in the ned i gave in and left him while we walked in to the town and back again, anyway, when we got back (we were only 3/4 hour) he was crying/sobbing his eyes out, so she said oh hes only just starting crying as you came in!! when dps brother turned round and said not he didnt he started crying as soon as the went!!!! She wouldnt even ring to say he was upset or anything, he was only about 4-5 months at the time. And as she wanted to give him PORK SCRATCHINGS (wtf!!) to teeth on, as she insisted he was teething (even though he didnt get any teeth till 8 months), i didnt trust her at all.
now she has only seen ds2 about 4-5 times as she wont come round to our house, she says its too far (she lives a 5 min drive-if that) and we wont let her smoke in the house or near either ds's.

And horror of horrors i breastfeed!!
when ds1 was born she knew i was bf and still went out and brought formula so she "could have a go" a feeding him!!!! which made me even more determined to keep breast feeding for as long as possible!
she also thinks im making ds2's milk allergy up, and when we said he could have any dairy, she said have you tried all the formulas??? but they are all still milk!!!

sorry thats a long post!!!

can you tell i cant stand my mil!!

worleythewisp · 11/02/2007 20:55

ds1 had chickenpox when he was 3, he didnt get ver many spots luckily, but does have one scar above his eye that he must of scratched at.
i used to sit him in a bath of bicarbonate of soda i think the hv said.

DeputyMacDawg · 11/02/2007 20:58

If it wasn't for PIL's, we'd have nothing to moan about

Jennster · 11/02/2007 21:46

I'm very lucky with mine. I love them very much. Wish they were nearer, (not that they are very far away nearly an hour) but they are so busy. Hardly see my parents either and they are only half an hour away. Just get too knackered to do much at the weekends to be honest. It's our fault.

Can feel baby moving

My sister has just suggested my stress incontinence could be due to an infection, and should get my urine dipped. I hope it is....Am really going for those exercises at the moment though.

Jennster · 11/02/2007 23:30

Agh dd just been screaming for an hour. She hasn't got a fever, but gave her paracetamol only 3 hours ago so gave her some ibuprofen. Just going to check childrens BNF to see if can give more piriton than recommended on the packet. Poor thing is one massive pox. It's going to be a LONG night.

DeputyMacDawg · 12/02/2007 10:02

MacDawg's pup is 1 today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wee soul's got a cold as well
