Hello (hopefully) to Voodoo, Worley and Jennster!!

OP posts:
Macdog · 30/01/2007 19:35

I'm a worse mummy Jennster, my dd hangs over the side of her playpen to watch Cbeebies .
She loves Justin (as does mummy)
She got nasty rash on her shoulders, looks impetigo-y. Got runny bum also (?teething) so is going to GP's tomorrow for a wee check up
Here's hoping for a quiet night

Jennster · 30/01/2007 20:24

Has it got a yellow/orange crust sort of floating?

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:27

oooo how little one now voodoo? that was bad not spotting that, i would write and complain also, did you go to the birmingham childrens hospital?

i was rung twice at work today about my sons, the first was for ds1 as he wasnt well and the school wanted me to go pick him up, but as they rang at 2.30 and it takes me 30 minutes to get there he had to wait for dp to collect him instead. he hasnt been sick but is really really hot (we dont have a thermometer so he has to make do with the hand on the forehead job!)so he was in bed at 6 after calpol and straight asleep.

then the nursery manager rang me to say they had accidently given ds2 some mashed potato for his tea and then realised it had been made with milk, so they apologised for being negligent etc etc. They have a BIG sign on the wall saying about his milk intolerance but the chef had made the mash with milk and they didnt realise apprentley. its a good job he doesnt have an anaphalctic (?spelling?) reaction to it , he has hives come up and if its a lot (such as half an oz of formula) he is sick. everywhere.
but hes been fine, he only had a mouthfull or so and only got a few spots on his face so not too bad.

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:28

I had impetigo once on my face. A cold sore that went over to the dark side...
awful thing.

dd managed to use the bad arm to lift up half a rusk, but her coordination was off as its so weak.

wrote the letter of complaint, I have really gone to town. It was like a type of therapy!

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:30

well, I now know that the dislocated elbow thing is always the most likel;y cause of any arm pain.

only now she will be very prone to it happening again.
My strong little girl has been bombarded with nasty unneccessary x-rays and now has dodgy elbows. (sigh emoticon)

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:32

i walk over and feed in my lunch hour, i sit in the oncall room and express then go and feed, at least then i get to check on him during the day also.

i think he has thrush in his mouth, he has some white patches on the inside of cheeks (about 20p size) and i was wondering if that was why my boobs hurt when he feeds as well, although the pain has gone its just my nipps now. i was on erythromycin 250 last week, can that travel through my milk and wear his good bacteria down?

after i had spoke to the nursery manager today on the phone, i burst into tears!! i thin it was more anger than being upset, i was ushered out of the room by another radiographer!! you know when you get that weird urge to either cry or shout!! well i ended up crying!!

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:34

my god, 3 of us on at the same time!!!

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:36

it is very frightening when someone you trust screws up your kid!!

I wanted to punch dd's auntie although it wasnt her fault, just bad luck.

Those dozy playgroup people want to watch out for mistakes like that,,,a lawsuit is not a good thing to have to cope with.

Poor worley.

At least I wasnt trapped at work when it happened to dd, just trying to nap!!!

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:37

im off to bed in a min, keep going dizzy.
what fun. I feel like I just gave birth all over again.
I am jealous of the newly weds, 2 weeks in Vancouver and no babies toworry about!!

but I have it on good authority that they are going to start trying straight away....

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:40

my friend at work said, they will be ringing to apologise when we've sued them for negligence. !! we cant even use sunlotion which may have nit oil in incase it rubs on other children .

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:45

nit oil???????????????????????????

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 20:45

I suppose its bad to rub nits on other kids [tongue-in-cheek-emoticon]

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:53

nit oil !!!! lol
slip of the finger there me thinks!!!!

ergh can you imagine!!
bet jennsters dipsensed some nit oil in her time though!!

worleygig · 30/01/2007 20:57

my friends going to vermont for her 30th birthday soon, im sooo jealous. no babies/children. i expect i will get a day out somehwere, not sure it will be child free though.

i will be off to bed soon also, i ahve already fell asleep on the setee earlier when feeding ds2. i had been watching something about how much money we spend on our children, on bbc2 it was, but it had finished and then i was looking at bill oddie!!

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 21:02

I caught Bill Oddie ogling a moose too......it was swimming.

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 21:05

sueing sueing I am going to sue sue sue sue su esu eue eueus eu ha ha ahahahahahahahah

btw did you know there are NO cases of MRSA ever recorded in any army field hospital? And none in the soldier hospitals in Iraq?

and yet lots in UK hospitals.
The state of the places makes me sick.

When we werein A&E waiting endlessly with poor dd there were so many dodgy characters...and it was sunday lunchtime FFS!! One massive thuggy bloke had a massive burned face...in the shape of an iron!! I kept staring.

Macdog · 30/01/2007 22:16

Jennster, yep it has floaty crust.
She had it before. She slobbers on her fingers, then claws at it, so no wonder.

mmmmmmmmmmm........this is turning into a really luvverly thread again between the impetigo and the nit oil. No wonder no-one else will come and play

OP posts:
Jennster · 30/01/2007 22:46

Sounds like impetigo! I have been refreshing and thinking you lot weren't logged on! I've been around and missed you all!

Never mind.

Jennster · 30/01/2007 22:47

Another reason I'm going to have another home birth Voodoo.

When I had meningitis in France, my room was cleaned properly every single day. Shame about the food though, but what a way to loose a bit of baby weight.

Jennster · 30/01/2007 22:49

Don't understand about the sunlotion with nit oil in it worley......

Macdog · 31/01/2007 09:41

Just taking dd off to GP now.
Pop back later

VoodooBiltong · 31/01/2007 16:50

well, folks I emailed my powerful letter to the nhs trust that runs that pigging hospital and I am posting it directly to them too.

I feel so much better now I ve actually done something.

She can pick light toys up with her bad arm now, but Ive noticed today she cant get it to the angle required to get stuff in her mouth. Her other hand is being all bossy and keeps taking over!

hope your dd is ok MDoggie.

I feel really dizzy again today, and I keep snacking.

VoodooBiltong · 31/01/2007 17:04

macdog.......I dont think my nursemaids elbow thread has the power to turn into a row...its rather tame at the mo!

VoodooBiltong · 31/01/2007 17:05

jenn i'd have thought a french hosp would've served great food!

VoodooBiltong · 31/01/2007 17:06
