worleygig · 29/01/2007 13:51

we went swimming yesterday which somehow took most of the day up, then i cooked tea ready for today so i dont have to do it tonight (just the veg to cook tonight) and had the mission of getting everything ready for nursery/school/work.

im now sitting in our oncall room at work expressing. then im nipping over to the nursery to feed him also, i was supposed to go to lunch at 1 but got called up to itu and took ages in there and now my boobs feel fit to burst!!

Macdog · 29/01/2007 13:59

I'm fine now. Here comes a rant....
Was at PIL's yesterday for FIL birthday party with dh's entire family. We were told to be there about 3pm, and we got there sbout 2.30ish.
We then found out that it was a sit-down meal, not starting till 6ish.
Was so that no-one told us it would be this late. dd goes for a bath usually about 7pm, bed around 8.
She was charging around for a good few hours, then started to fade as dinner was served.
I took her into quiet room to bf and she started to doze, so plonked her in buggy with a book to read/chew/drool on.
All was quiet while I had my soup then an almighty bellow began. FIL was 'entertaining' her with a noisy toy. She started screaming, and we had to abandon PIL and get her home pronto. This was the back of 7.
Because she was screaming, I got really upset as well as that PIL had messed us about so much.
They bloody know that I don't like dd being out late cos she gets overtired/screamy and that's why they didn't tell us. We assumed that it was an afternoon tea type thing.
Feel better now that's off my chest.
Sorry for ranting, but 'better out than in'

Hope everyone else had a good weekend

i wouldnt be impressed either, we have to stay out later on a fri (we get home at 8) for ds1 swimming club and then ds2 wont sleep as it throws him, saying that scince hes had his cold he is all over the place, it vwas 9 before he went to sleep last night and then he has to get up at 6.30.

yay i have 4 oz so far!!!

worleygig · 29/01/2007 14:07

what did they expect you to do before tea then?? wait around for 3 hours?
did you have a long driuve to get there?

Jennster · 29/01/2007 14:12

GRRRRRRR would be cross too. My pils are very good about this sort of thing, as are my parents but....just realised she just signed up to mn so keeping schtum.

4oz well done Worley!

Just had conversation with my locum who covers me mon and tues. Seems like the pre-reg who I am meant to be training thinks she is above actually buckling down and working hard in like the rest of us and keeps sitting on MY stool. The stool that's only there because I'm pregnant.

Macdog · 29/01/2007 14:14

They only live 15 mins away.
It's not as if they never see her either. We're over virtually every weekend.
A couple of weeks ago there was a birthday party for dh's gran(90) and they didn't tell us because 'the baby wouldn't be able to be out so late', yet it's fine to have her out late at their house !!!!!!

Well done on the expressing, Worley. The mood I'm in after yesterday I'd be on a gallon a minute
dd going well with her juice/beaker now at meals. She only gets bf morning/bedtime now

OP posts:
Macdog · 29/01/2007 14:15

at thought of my MIL being on MN ?????

OP posts:
Jennster · 29/01/2007 17:01

No was going to mention something about sil and then had second thoughts.

Macdog · 29/01/2007 18:20

We'll need to get you a new secret identity for bitching then

OP posts:
worleygig · 29/01/2007 18:30

i had a stool also for sitting and supervising students!!! and when i waddled in and someone didnt remove themselves from it for me , it used to irritate me!! as we never have stools either. we did at one time but a locum took it upon herself to sit and play soliater all day so they hid them away and took the games of the computers!!

after i expressed i walked over to the nursery and fed ds2. he had done painting (painting!!!!) that morning. god- he doesnt even roll over for me and hes bloody painting for them!!! lol
so i fed him and he went to sleep for 30 mins, so i left him to it in the cot.

worleygig · 29/01/2007 18:33

mmmm, just had shepards pie and veg, ds1 only ate his brocolli and carrots, he cant face the other stuff!! so hes going to bed hungry at 7 as i wont give him anything else when he should of ate his dinner, am i mean? i just dont think he should still be given biscuits or a yog if he wont eat his proper dinner.

now off to the shop o buy fish food for ds1's triops as i forgot at the weekend and they will eat each other if i dont feed them.

worleygig · 29/01/2007 18:37

thye look like this, ugly buggers, but only grow to about 1-2 inches long

Macdog · 29/01/2007 19:39

Man, they ugly !!!!

Wonder when Voods will wander back from her wedding?

OP posts:
Jennster · 29/01/2007 21:40

Ahh would love to be able to walk to nursery and feed in work time!

My stool used to get moved when locums were about, but now my locum is my mate who covered my maternity leave so isn't necessary to move it. Thing is, if it goes upstairs out of the way, then she sits on the kick step.

Just got off the phone to her and she is REALLY not happy with the pre-reg. She started 2 weeks ago. I was on holiday in the first week, but she only made it through monday and tuesday couple of hours, and then went home sick. She was sick in the loo and just left without saying she was going! She was sick for the rest of the week and then was back on the monday and was 15 minutes late on the tuesday. I was back on the Wednesday which went ok and she was 15 minutes late on the thursday. Friday she had a migraine.

When I was a trainee, if ANYBODY asked me to do anything, I did it and made sure I was never asked to do it again! Honestly kids!

Macdog · 29/01/2007 21:44

dh nodding his head in sympathy on the pre-reg thing.
Met a few in hospital pharmacies over the years

OP posts:
Jennster · 30/01/2007 10:49

Woohoo just had a phonecall from my locum. Apparently my pre-reg has resigned! Something has gone on that nobody knows about. Anyway it's not my problem anymore!

It means my super keen healthcare assistant who is BRILLIANT and would make a fab dispenser can start on the dispensing assistant's course very soon. It seemed so unfair to make her wait because an 'interloper' was taking up space in the dispensary. (not that we ever made her feel like an interloper it's def not the reason she resigned!)

Macdog · 30/01/2007 12:24

Hurrah, Jennster!!
Finally sanity can reign supreme

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 14:24

I am so back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The wedding was absolutely fabulous, even tho the night before, I was on my own with dd in a hotel room so dh could go and be best man, and dd kept me up all night! Little bugger. I got three hours sleep before the most important weekend this year

the day went really well, I had to whisk dd out during some of the speeches, she was heckling her daddy too much!

The disaster happened the day after...we were waiting at MIL's while dh went to a football match, and his sister (age 23 and V. responsible) watched dd while I went to take a much-needed nap.....
from being seated on the floor surrounded by cushions dd fell over backwards onto her arm, and ended up in severe pain, we had to go to casualty for x-rays, I was in bits...

to cut long story short (too late) she had to have 2 xrays because the doctors were incompetant,,and we had to stay overnight at MIL to take her back the next day to see a consultant paediatrician,,,,she was in agony all night and would only sleep on the boob, so I fed her all night and have bad nipps again....
I wept for about 3 hours in rage at my paralysed little one
we went back next day and a cleaner said it looked like a dislocated elbow...the paediatrician who was lovely, agreed and fixed it in 10 secs flat...hence I am going to sue the bloody nhs for incompetance for my dd having a night of unneccessary agony, unnessecary xrays and her records and info were left unwatched in a public place.

so upsetting after a wonderful weekend.

VoodooBiltong · 30/01/2007 14:26

she is still scared to use her arm, the paediatrician said the swelling is really bad as it was out of place for so long

Macdog · 30/01/2007 16:09

So sorry to hear your dd is so sore.
Get a written complaint off to the Health Board involved PRONTO.
Recommend the cleaner involved for a pay rise/promotion for being more competent than the medical staff.

Makes all my problems seem so small.

Nice to have you back anyway and glad you had a good time

Jennster · 30/01/2007 16:54

O Voodoo! How terrible. Sorry your weekend didn't end well.

Jennster · 30/01/2007 16:55

O Voodoo! How terrible. Sorry your weekend didn't end well.

Jennster · 30/01/2007 16:58

Oops.

You know what? I am sitting in the front room with the tv on Cbeebies. It's the first time I have let dd watch tv. In fact she is now standing right up close with a biscuit in her hand and her milk on the floor. I always said if there is any eating or drinking to be done it will be done at the table. Hey hum. I'm a bad mummy. [blush}

Have just put her on a cushion and she is loving pingu. Bouncing up and down in delight!
