I was asked to start this, honest.

Come and share a sisterly cup of organic carrot juice and tell us why you love yours.

Am sure I could do it standing up. Am amenoreaheaorc (I started spelling that and it went very wrong and I can't be arsed to change it..>!) atm so don't need one, but I want one if only to practise lip flappery.

Am pmsl at this thread

Lact8HisLiverWithANiceChianti · 20/10/2006 21:53

I love Mooncups

And this thread

Have Pmsl at the lukewarmness adn sugarfee and the boots lady

My life is so sad I looked at the calendar and thought 'Oh goody, I'm due on soon, i'll be able to use my Mooncup again'

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 21:55

Anyone who is thinking about one, if you wait approx 2 weeks I will be taking orders for cheap ones again (£15.28 inc postage)

Thank heavens, Waiting. I was starting to feel like some sort of loon.

yep franny, now there are two freaks, that's great. and one maybe freak, in the form of hunker who is sure she could do it standing up. i despair...

Lact8HisLiverWithANiceChianti · 20/10/2006 22:00

I have tried it standing up, how i used to put tampons in, but it hurt

Now I sit on the toilet, and use ds2's potty to rest one foot and his little step thing for the other foot so I'm in full squatting position

(have only skimmed this but i'm guessing there's no need to apologise for TMI?!)

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 22:00

Heh

you are just jealous of our fab suppleality

OP posts:
legacy · 20/10/2006 22:01

Mooncup A, wider than a mile,
I'm trying you inside some day.
Oh, stream-taker, you joy-maker,
whatever is flowing is going your way.
Two posters, now off - they've seen the light.
There's such a lot of waste, you see.
We're all after the same fanjo's end--
unfolding 'round the bend,
my silicon-y friend,
my Mooncup and me.

AlfredAitchcock · 20/10/2006 22:03

sorry franny, three freaks, now that i've seen legacy's post.

and of course i'm jealous...

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2006 22:04

The freaks are outnumbering the normal posters on here I think

oh look aitch, it's just you left....

OP posts:
legacy · 20/10/2006 22:06

(guess I ought to direct those under 40 to the lyrics of 'Moon River'....:

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

)

swOOPingbatS · 20/10/2006 22:06

what about lying down- i'll try everything lying down

AlfredAitchcock · 20/10/2006 22:08

oh dear god nnnnnoooooooooo

legacy · 20/10/2006 22:10

Hey - who are you calling a freak F&Z?? Just because I dropped mine down a French Aire..... at least I was STANDING huh?!

AlfredAitchcock · 20/10/2006 22:19

sorry, it was me, not F&Z... no offence meant... you loon.

legacy · 20/10/2006 22:22

None taken.... I'm just Mad about My Mooncup.... I know

AlfredAitchcock · 20/10/2006 22:26

i;m mad about mine too, legacy. i'm like the billy graham of mooncups at the moment, but not having much luck with RL friends. i think it's because i can't help but 'mime' a bit when i'm talking about them, which my friends find unsavoury.

legacy · 20/10/2006 22:34

"MIME" ??? OMG, now who's the loon?

Do you do the shlurping noise too?

AlfredAitchcock · 20/10/2006 22:37

no schlurping. i am very gesticulatory... i should sit on my hands when i am talking about mooncups in RL.

lulumama · 20/10/2006 22:45
Spagblog · 21/10/2006 08:56

lol legacy, very clever

Tatties · 21/10/2006 11:38

That is excellent Legacy. I love Moonriver too. Especially when Morrissey sings it.

CarolinaMooncup · 21/10/2006 13:46

legacy, that's beautiful

n.b. the slight cooling is so you don't get a burnt minge, as I once did

am sure sterilising at the end is ok though.

theinvisiblegirl · 21/10/2006 14:29

Another Mooncup evangelist here!

Is totally wonderful. Used to use washable sanitary towels, but was a bit messy. Buying my Mooncup was like a revelation

I am desperately trying to spread the word among friends and family..not going to well though. They just look at me a bit odd!!

Oh, well keep trying I suppose!

PandaG · 21/10/2006 14:45

Love my mooncup . Am quite happy discussing use with RL friends too! Flow lighter, less pain, and no dificult to remove tampon at end of cycle when flow has almost stopped. And of course so much better for the environment, which is the reason I bought one in the first place!

shimmy21 · 21/10/2006 15:07

seeing as we're all mooncup friends here i have a graphic blush-making question

I've used my mooncup for one cycle so far. First day or 2 loved it, started to evangalise to friends etc, third day, disaster - repeated accidents let's just say the mooncup (or 'clotpot' as I can't help calling it to myself -sorry) didn't do its job. On closer investigation I found that the MC wasn't popping back into shape once inserted and was remaining with a kink and being next to useless. Only with quite a lot of grappling and trial and error was I able to get the darned thing to do its job.
Anyone else experienced this? Am I putting it in wrong or is there something strange about my anatomy???

Nearly resorting to tampons again but the ease of the first 2 days have convinced me to keep trying. Help!
