I was asked to start this, honest.

Come and share a sisterly cup of organic carrot juice and tell us why you love yours.

I am about to have my coil removed so therefore expecting my af to return I am interested in trying a mooncup! should I just buy 1 or invest in 2 so that while one is being sterilised I can use the other?

Whoops, you only need one. You just wash it with ordinary soap and water during your period, then sterilise it in between cycles.

whoops, just sterilise it (boil for 5mins) at the very beginning of your period (I use bog roll to prevent knicker-stainage during this five minutes) then stick it in - let it cool slightly first - and bob's your uncle.

yep. or actually now that i think of it, i do it as i am standing up. mid-stand, as it were.

You've made me think about it now, too. I'm usually hovering the loo, not sitting right down.

Are you supposed to sterilise right before use?
I've always done mine afterwards, and kept it in its bag ready for the next month

at letting it cool 'slightly' - I just sterilise mine at the end of my period and stick it in its bag

oooh, random double post. what a shame you didn't call them slightly flapping lips, franny, then it would have been relevant.

I've always done that too lulumama and has never caused a problem. I can't do it standing up!!!!!!!!!!! I have to crouch down - is that weird. Also I kept my tail I seem to need it. However, I bought my sister one and she cut the tail off completely. Everyone is different it seems. I'd forgotten about my mooncup as am pg at moment (until wednesday apparently) so you're reminding me how good it is and not to get too miffed about the return of AF.
Also when I first got it I didn't realise I would be squeamish about my own bodily fluids but I got used to it after about 3 months and I think it is fab

I'VE JUST STArted a period after being pretty much preg or bf since 2002....and was thinking about a mooncup.
