For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well and full of fruit. Some of us have been doing this for nearly a month now - is anyone seeing / feeling any results?

Here is my report for yesterday:

I ate raisins, grapes, pineapple, apple, 2 clementines, avocado, carrot, lettuce and cucumber

which I think is 9, so not bad. Oh tomatoes as well, so 10. I didn't go to the gym or anything, but I was on my feet most of the day. I have bought a pedometer, does anyone else use one?

Another effing grapefruit. Arncha sick of 'em?

Where's Charlee? It's the only reason I got up so early!

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 07:57

I used to have a pedomiter but found that it was quite unreliable as it counted things like pulling up your knickers when on the toilet as a step ect. but i think if you get a decent one there great.

I whave yet to eeat fruit or veg as i have only been up about 15 mins!

I am doing the weekly shop so i will stock the house, i am NOT going to buy any malteasers, i must be strong.

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 08:00

Has anyone else noticed that i spend my life shopping? I must have an addiction!

Wow Pan do you need my Sunny services this morning?

Panman · 04/09/2006 08:03

Erm.

Papillon · 04/09/2006 08:10

counts a step when you pull up your knickers! HAH

Panman are you sticking your carrots up in protest or something?

I am feeling greater well being from consuming loads of fruit especially. Something that was not clearing up, has now cleared up, thanks to this thread

Eating lots of Mirabelles - so sweet!

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 08:11

Charlee....I think Pan is waiting for you to fulfill your leader's request as stated on the last thread....

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 08:13

Pan I have tried to find a photo for you but this was the best I could do

I think a pedometer that counts you pulling down your pants as a step would be fab, I would pay extra for one like that

Panman · 04/09/2006 08:15

In my brief absence, you've all gone raving. Pap wanting to know if I have "stuck my carrots up", and Charlee is dressing in her cheerleaders outfit, offering "morning services".....Frances, all of this started so well...but one or two have 'strayed'...go find that one lost sheep..??

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 08:18

Ah, sod 'em...

if they can't be arsed to get up early for the delights of a bit of old-fashioned smut and a satsuma, they can go and find another thread to play on

Papillon · 04/09/2006 08:20

Imagines this scenario in the F&Z house going on all day

Panman · 04/09/2006 08:20

Panman · 04/09/2006 08:21

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 08:21

harpsichordcarrier · 04/09/2006 08:37

can't contemplate being any MORE so, I will never go out :-\
hopefully a whole load of hydrogenated fats and e numbers will eventually quell the libido

harpsichordcarrier · 04/09/2006 08:37

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 08:43

Hi all.
I'm from rainy Devon. Lots of good things to eat though, and think I managed my 10 portions. We also did some wet trudging on Dartmoor, so will count that as my exercise.
Slacking a bit today, one banana and a some museli. Going to go for some pulses today, as I am trying to do a store cupboard day, to avoid shopping.
Charlee, this thread has made me realise how often I go shopping, thats all I seem to talk about!
Love the cheerleading. Feel a bit miserable today, so it's good to see

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 12:44

Yay, Overrun. Good to see you and hope you feel better soon.

Here's Charlee again to cheer you up (does your midwife know you are doing that, Charlee?)
