For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

I am slowly rejoining my normal diet - had a huge veg stir fry for tea last night, and then lots of fruit and veg at lunch, am at at least five servings today, counting morning muesli.

No real exercise today, but I've biked a bit, and will bike more. Still very jetlagged, frankly.

This last week has been great for exercise, but not marvellous for fruit and veg, what with eating in restaurants all the time. I'm looking forward to getting back to normal, and to the jetlag stopping, too, tbh.

Panman · 04/09/2006 14:55

ok. Now TWO g/fruit, and two kiwi kiwis, and a salad on the horizon for dinner...

is anyone else cutting and pasting offa the receipe thread??

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 15:00

What recipe thread? Have we got a recipe thread?

OP posts:
Panman · 04/09/2006 15:02

My, you are behind the times.

It was my idea actually, ...check the topics board? (rubbish at linking bits.)

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 15:05

Oh it would be your idea

You were always a trouble maker right from the start, coming in here, getting the ladies all stirred up over their aubergines

Belive me my cheerleader outfit hasn't fit for many a year, i don't think they make maternity ones

I love the pic though, i don't quite have the same figure as that girl, if i jumped like that my boob's would knock me out before my feet hit the floor!

I'm having a tesco pre roasted chicken with a huge salad and either Jacket potato or chips for dinner followed by yet more fruit!

I'm afraid i simply cannot don the outfit every morning though, the farmer next door will complain im souring his cows milk if i continue to wear such things

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 18:29

Charlee I am not sure if I can keep these disciples' interest in the thread if you don't, to be honest

there is only so much you can say about root vegetables.

I am having barley with mushrooms, peas and sweetcorn. I had beans for lunch, and ridiculous amounts of fruit all morning: 9 portions so far. Haven't done any specific exercise but just went on a long blackberry picking expedition (2.5 hours) and am weary.

I will be around for a while tomorrow morning bright and sunny as usual

Aviatrix, lucky you to be getting a supersizekings bed
Completely crap day to day, will try again tomorrow

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 21:12

Here's something for the morning should you all need a boot up the bum! This is me doing my cheer to get you all geared up for a day of fruit and vegtastic meals! Don't forget the excersise get that heart pumping!

Don't you just hate people who are overly happy and energetic first thing in the morning!

Panman · 04/09/2006 21:15

Ok. Here's the deal. If Charlee gets into her ra-ra skirt each morning, I'll get out my fireman's uniform, set fire to a local building, and cradle some scrawny mog whilst stood in front of said building. Every morning.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 21:17

Charlee, we absolutely require you to be posting from the delivery suite. Do you have wireless, at all? And has the midwife okayed that corset, hmm?

Aviatrix, we have a superking size bed and it is heavenly

never mind the fact I only got to sleep in about 1.5 foot of it for 3 years when ds was in with us. I bloody love my bed, and more places do superking size linen now.

Wahoo - uniforms. This is my all time favourite thread, ever

Oh gosh, it was the fire station open day here on Saturday. There was hoses and poles and all sorts.

OP posts:
Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 21:24

Deal Panman although do we get a picture of you and your gigantic hose? oh er!

Right all this excesive cheering has made me knackered im going bed - i have a busy morning you know! It takes me at least an hour to shoe horn my way into that outfit.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 21:27
