For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Help, help, I´m trapped in a tree save me, save me from fruit and vege starvation.

I am doing the morning tea at playgroup today and its black seedless grapes, apple, banana and bread. The sun is back and I would do a cheer with charlee, if I can find some leaves for a costume, and once I´m saved, of course

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2006 07:22

Ooh help help I am stuck too . I am the yellow one.

Firepan · 05/09/2006 17:12

A smelly moggy from a burning house before breakfast, a beautiful (only semi-naked) papillon from a tree branch shortly after.....well that's MY exercise for the day.....

had two navels (!), a mexican bean salad, so far...struggling on the veg. front.....need to keep my strength up though........

fullmoonfiend · 05/09/2006 18:03

help! help!I need a fireman too as I can't get down at all but I promise to help polish up your helmet in return

fullmoonfiend · 05/09/2006 18:06

3 miles walking, salad and melon for lunch, plums for snack, banana and date loaf (home-made) as, er, another snack and tortillas with red peppers, onions, and salad for dinner. And, no wine for 2 days! Can you see my glowing healthyness from there?

Charleesunnysunsun · 05/09/2006 19:06

Evening all

I have eaten a ton of fruit as usual today, mostly peaches in fact i think im looking a little more round, fuzzy and bottom like already after all they say if you eat something enough you will end up looking like it!

I also had salad and tuna in a tortilla wrap for lunch with an apple on the side and am about to eat a veggie packed stew for dinner.

As for excersise i had to do the Chickens for mite's today - have you ever tried to chase one of those buggers around? That's more energetic than Panman up and down his tree's

Firepan · 05/09/2006 19:41

Aaaaagh !!

FMF - very winsome smile, but those shoes!!

Wait til autumn and she can fall off with the leaves......(but surprised the weight of those shoes aren't dragging her down......~)

We ate a vegetable soup that was very thick for dinner, will post on other thread - pumpkin, potato, leeks, tomato and broccoli. Had heaps of fruit from the playgroup left over to consume in the afternoon. Think it gets close to 10 for today.

Firepan I don´t wish for the reputation of resident harlot, especially when I such classy dames as FMF to contend with! So I will demurely refrain from calling on your services in the ´pm´period

NotQuiteCockney · 05/09/2006 20:28

Goodness me, what happened in here?

Ahem.

I have had muesli (1), a grapefruit (2), a couple of big tomatoes (2), a giant bowl of salad (3), a decent amount of braised red cabbage (2) and a cob and a half of sweetcorn (1). Which is 11.

I did four 10-minute bike rides. No running, I still don't feel like it. Still a bit off-colour with the jetlag.

NotQuiteCockney · 05/09/2006 20:29

Firemen don't actually rescue cats from trees. Trust me, I know.

Firepan · 05/09/2006 20:42

But they do rescue beautiful papillons. This I do know.

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2006 20:44

I have been at the gym all ruddy evening and am actually too shagged to post any innuendo. This is a sad day in the F&Z household.

My fingers are too tired to count but I have eaten shed loads of stuff and I am eating more right now.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 05/09/2006 20:59

Oh, I meant to ask, F&Z, how are your quads? Are they alarming yet?

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2006 21:20

No-oo, I don't think so....are they the bit above your knee? My legs are coming on slower than my arms, I think. My arms are ruddy marvellous (well for a skinny bird anyway )

My dodgy knee is definitely getting better, though. I am doing sort of supported squats against the wall with a fit ball, and can now do them holding 2 kg weights with a 5 sec pause at the bottom. I am really pleased.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 05/09/2006 22:10

Oh, I'm really glad to hear that. Having dodgy knees sucks.
