Wahhhh...

I've had this lump on my labia for many years now, hard but painless.

Since a few days ago - I blame spin class - it's got really big, red and painful. It's the size of a large grape and is mostly hard. I've had mag sulph paste on it, germolene, hot baths, tentative squeezes... nothing - It's hard to dress too, thanks to the location.

I've had similar before, hence my mag sulph knowledge, but this just doesnt seem to be coming to a head, paracetamol and ibuprofen are not touching the pain.

Any ideas???

You may even get sent to the hospital depending Kato. If it needs lancing etc.

KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 12:45

You're kidding right?

Well DH had a large sebaceous cyst (which yours probably isn't). The staff at the GP surgery decided it would be best as the hospital have all the right tools stuff to deal with it IYKWIM. best for the experts to see to it I think.

That said, it had burst (DS2 headbutted it accidentally) and that apparently is worse than having it professionally popped.

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2014 12:50

not meaning to scare you BTW, whatever they do you will hopefully be more comfortable because you can't keep it. Flowers

Allice · 15/04/2014 12:53

Hope Dr can help, sounds really painful, good news that its leaking a little though (rubs thighs)

KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 12:54

No, you're right. He has to go! What word should I use for the doctor.? Vulva? Labia?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2014 12:57

I would go for 'I have a lump on my labia that looks like it could be an infected hair follicle or sebaceous cyst, which has got very large and painful'

Are you going to start a thread about pubic hair topiary? it's mandatory I think when exposing your nethers at the GPs. Wink

KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 13:01

Gads I hadn't even considered my state of affairs down there...

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2014 13:02

I wouldn't worry too much and it's not the time for sharp hair trimming instruments down there. As long as you are clean and friendly. Smile

RalphGnu · 15/04/2014 13:03

Yowch!

EBearhug · 15/04/2014 13:11

I had an infection down there. It burst as I was trying to get a good viewing angle. I was well-impressed scared by the amount of pus that came out - no wonder it hurt. I did get it into my head that it would lead to septicaemia, which would infect my entire bloodstream and I'd die, without being able to make it to the phone to call for help, but clearly it hasn't.

Hint: dabbing it with TCP to try and reduce the risk of the infection spreading hurts like... well, I suspect buggery is the easier option.

MoreSkyThanWeNeed · 15/04/2014 13:12

Aw I've been thinking about your follicle bollickle!
I'm jealous of your GP if he/she gets to pop it.
I knew I should have stuck with medical school - is there a spot speciality doctor? I could do that. Probably would never eat mayo again, but I could do that.
Good luck at the dr-and do update.

KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 13:16

My mum wants me to take a photo... If I can crop it in such a way that you can't see any fanjo I may pm you a copy!

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2014 14:26

Noooo!! The Dr......

KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 15:34

And nurse both made impressed noises and the dr wonders how effective antibiotics will be 'too far gone' I quote.

Got flucloxcillin to take for 24hrs and if no improvement I'm off to the hospital tomorrow!

Please send bursting vibes!!!!

OP posts:
KatoPotato · 15/04/2014 15:39

He was torn between sending me today or giving the antibiotics, said they might make me try them first so bollocks crossed over the next 24 hrs

Blatherskite · 15/04/2014 15:44
