It's an odd bug

He is exhausted, is being sick but intermittently more as a reaction to a temperature or shaking & he is sweating (it's not hot here)

He looks awful, no diarrhoea but going to the loo often, feeling queasy

He doesn't really get 'tummy bugs' and the few times he has had one (over the last 20 yrs or so) he has been fine within 6-10 hours - this has been going on since Sunday evening.

He has chronic asthma & lung disease (Bronchiectasis) so takes a lot of drugs and I'm a bit worried but I'm not sure why, something I can't quite put my finger on

Call your OOH service. There's a lot to be said for instinct.

MissStrawberry · 06/08/2013 20:21

Probably because he needs a doctor?

Mabelface · 06/08/2013 20:23

Ring out of hours.

Imnotaslimjim · 06/08/2013 20:24

I'm with Hawkmoth dr's put a fair bit of store by instinct these days. Give OOH's a call, or get him to A&E to be checked over

twentyten · 06/08/2013 20:25

Ring ooh doc. Trust your instinct. Good luck!

KatyMac · 06/08/2013 20:46

Imnotaslimjim · 06/08/2013 21:24

Sounds interesting! Can we be let in on the secret?

KatyMac · 06/08/2013 21:40

blood pressures dropped to 71/49

OP posts:
nextphase · 06/08/2013 21:40

There is something going round here which seems to be flu-ey and tummy bug-ish, however given his other medical history, OOH was the right call. Whats up with the paramedic?

KatyMac · 06/08/2013 21:50

We are going to A&E

Update tomorrow prob

Paramedic has no idea but too many markers so he is going in

OP posts:
LongTimeLurking · 06/08/2013 21:51

71/49 requires a doctor or hospital ASAP.

nextphase · 06/08/2013 21:52

Hope you have an OK night, and DH recovers quickly with medical care.

Hashtagwhatever · 06/08/2013 21:54

Hope dh is ok

EagleRay · 06/08/2013 22:34

Hi hope your DH is ok - you have definitely done the right thing. DP has the same condition (asthma/bronchiecstasis) and has permanent lung damage due to a rare infection which went undetected. I had the heebie jeebies for a long time about his health and kept persuading him to return to his gp - finally he got referred for an x-ray and got a proper diagnosis.

An existing condition like that means treading v carefully and being a bit pushy when necessary! I hope all is well and that he gets better soon.

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/08/2013 22:40

Good luck KatyMac. Fingers crossed that they sort him out quickly.

KatyMac · 07/08/2013 01:29

Probably not chest or urine maybe Liver or Gall bladder

2nd lot of Xrays & more tests - abnormal results

OP posts:
Gruntfuttocks · 07/08/2013 02:05

The shivering, sweating, low blood pressure etc all sound like signs of an infection somewhere.. Well done on getting him to hospital pronto. At least you can relax a little bit now, knowing that the hunt is on! Hope he is on the mend very soon. Flowers Keep us updated.

KatyMac · 07/08/2013 02:26

He has a urine infection & they are doing a scan of his Liver & Gall Bladder tomorrow

His blood tests were 'quite abnormal' & he is nil by mouth from 6 am

I need to sort out PJs etc & take in first thing & then be back for work by 8am
