Great idea - I am a big ugg fan and love my ugg slippers and boots . Also like lounging about trousers so had a selection of those.

KurriKurri · 30/09/2012 15:55

OTM - I used

Bohemia - the cotton jersey three seam hats are nice and comfy

Annabandana - are good - very reasonable prices - look in their jersey hat and in the sleep caps for little soft beanie type things.

this site looks reasonable too - though I haven't tried it.

I agree that some sites charge an absolute fortune.

Sending love to all, - and good wishes for Gig for hospital tomorrow, and everyone else having treatment this week.

Feeling a bit down, - my little dog is not well. She is 15, and last night she had a sort of attack where she collapsed, - it's to do with her heart problem - but she goes unconscious, she's had little one's before and the vet says it's because her heart goes out of rhythm and oxygen doesn't get to her brain. But last night it took her a long time to come round - we thought we had lost her, Sad -
She did regain consciousness eventually, and had drink then slept for a long time, - she's more or less back to normal this morning. But it's becoming more obvious that we aren't going to have her for very much longer. She is a dear little dog, I will miss her terribly.

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/09/2012 16:18

oh kk Sad poor old lady dog- hope she goes on for as long as possible -so sad when they go - hugs to you and a gentle stroke to LOLD
Lots of good luck tomorrow gig - this is the last one ?

kurri great links, thanks. so sorry about your little dog, animals are very important in our family and i know how much i worry about all of ours. hope all goes well.

topsyturner · 30/09/2012 17:40

Oh poor Little Old Lady Dog
It would break my heart to say goodbye to pig/dog no matter how much I complain about him Sad

I wear buffs all the time and find them very easy to wear .
But I'm also looking for some , non itchy , hats for the colder weather . So I will go have a look at those websites .

Gigondas · 30/09/2012 17:44

Oh poor little old lady dog- and poor you. I know it's a cliche but they really are part of family. I miss our dogs and its been 9 and 7 years since they were gone.

Back to hats , what I really want is an equivalent of the ones I get for mini gig that have fleece lining .

jchocchip · 30/09/2012 18:15

gig are they knitted hats or denim or something? trying to visualise...

Gigondas · 30/09/2012 18:25

Mini gigs? Or mine?
John Lewis looking most promising for styles at minute

graciesmall09 · 30/09/2012 18:52

Poor little old lady dog. Even though my lab is a bit of a nightmare at times (well most times) i really would be lost without him.

Late night last night so taking things easy today. Ryder Cup on AGAIN and DH has hidden remote Grin.

Hope head not too sore today topsy. A coffee/lunch meet up sounds fab. What about some time next week? I am dosed with the cold/lurgy so won't inflict that on you this week.

Good luck this week gigs, hope the picc line behaves. Thinking of everybody undergoing treatment, tests, etc this week.

topsyturner · 30/09/2012 19:05

Erm , let me check my social diary Gracie
Ok , I might just be able to squeeze you in
Grin

I appear to be free most days next week . But this week I am being given daily tasks to do by my friend who is making the Indian feast for me .
I believe tomorrow's task is blanching , chopping , then mulching approximately 5 kilos of onions !

So it might be wise to leave meeting up till next week as I shall mostly be stinking of spices this week Grin

jchocchip · 30/09/2012 19:33

Indian feast sounds scrummy, topsy

cat just bought a frog in. Fortunately ds noticed and I quarantined the cat and found it so dh could remove it to the retirement home.... cat flap now nailed shut for the night!

KurriKurri · 30/09/2012 23:14

OTM - I have tried to answer your knitting question on arts and crafts, - that is a lovely jumper you are making for your DS.

topsyturner · 01/10/2012 08:42

Gigondas · 01/10/2012 10:18

Hope gracie first appt going well.

Is that onions I can smell on you lady boy Wink?

Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 01/10/2012 11:58

Hope all goes well, gig and gracie!

KK - the memory thing sounds like a combination of things to me - chemo, lots on your mind and the UTI so try not to worry. Rest up a bit of you can and I'm sure it will subside.

Just working away here again, after a thrilling day yesterday cleaning Shock and chucking stuff out. I am on a major de-clutter programme again - I think some of the furniture is coming under close scrutiny, I feel the need for space and clear surfaces......

SparkleRainbow · 01/10/2012 13:19

You can try and hide from me, but I will find you!

I putting some lovely toasted crumpets on the fbs trolley.

Sometimesiwonder · 01/10/2012 13:25

Fear I must decline Sparkles, tempted as I am. The diet isn't going too well at the mo' Sad

Gigondas · 01/10/2012 14:36

I will have some sparkle - bored and waiting for treatment to start as usual huge long wait after blood tests (which I note they did on Friday but are doing again anyway Hmm).

At this rate I will eat all the fbs I have- flake or strawberry laces anyone? It might be iplayer time as have exhausted Mn offerings for now- I can't get interested in whether or not some over sensitive loony should invite someone her dp knows from work to the wedding even when the inevitable leave the bastard posts go up.

Gigondas · 01/10/2012 14:37

sometimes if you fancy decluttering my house while you are about it.

Sometimesiwonder · 01/10/2012 14:44

Will happily add you to my list - but don't wait up. Mine's going to take weeks at this rate. Sigh.

Hope you get sorted soon, Gig, before the sugar levels go critical Grin

KurriKurri · 01/10/2012 15:26

Hi all Smile
Sparkle I will have virtual crumpet, - can't have the real thing though - mu weight has come to a complete standstill again, - despite a lot of exercise last week Hmm

Sometimes - I desperately need to declutter, - there's so much to do I don't know where to start every time I manage to do a bit, someone comes along and fills the space with rubbish again.

Gig - hope they have got you started now, and you are not still hanging around. Did you watch The Bletchley Circle when it was on TV? - it was quite entertaining, - might be worth a look on iplayer.

good luck with rads gracie - am very Envy of your bat cape - no such refinements in our hospital, it's prance about in the nude here. Grin

ladyboy topsy have you finished the onions? if you smell of garlic, you will be safe from gracie in her bat cape vampires.
Sorry your knee is sore and your psoriasis, hope you feel a bit better soon.

I went to yoga this morning, then pootled about in the shops - bought myself some lace edged vest tops in primark, and a jumper in the New Look sale (its just a creamy coloured sort of baggy fit thing which I thought would be good to throw on at yoga for relaxation. Hopefully I won't look too mutton, NL being a young folks shop and all that Grin)

Old lady dog ate a big lunch quite happily, she had a little sort of stumble afterwards, but she might have tripped rather than felt ill. She's made a nest in my coat and is fast asleep at my feet now Smile

waving to all.

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/10/2012 17:57

don't be silly kk -you won't look like mutton Grin !
Tell me- did any of you crave salty things on chemo ? am a bit obsessed by cheese, crackers, cheddars at the mo, and also proper squeezed orange juice and melon...or maybe that's just my normal round of food passions -I do get fixated on things and have them all the time. I suppose salty stuff stops me feeling sick(minerals and whatnot)

OP posts:
Gigondas · 01/10/2012 18:12

kk those things sound lovely and not at all mutton.

mas I am definitely more into savoury and fruit than sweet-eggs and cheese and crackers especially. Are you on any steroids though? As they can artificially enhance your appetite so I always have to think is this real or steroid.

That said I am giving into cravings on chemo days so have eaten my own body weight in strawberry laces (that probably won't be going in nutritionist diary Wink) , flakes and cheese biscuits . And picc line holding up fine - I am counting days til it's out.
