Oh no kurri you can come and lie next to me and jchoc on the sofa. Leg is a bit easier but have ramped up painkillers (dont know why didn't before- partly cos didn't want to overdo it).

Need to get some relief as have scan tomorrow so lots of positive thoughts etc needed. Am going alone so will treat myself to something fbs after.

Am sticking my head in sand on dog(or in bin pig dog style) - personally I agree mini gig too young so will leave debate (jchoc big gig is keen to have a cat but I am allergic).

mas do as I say not as I do and ring and ask for relief tips . I know it will upset and frustrate you even more if it gets to the point it impacts your drawing.

Yay for little ned .

My nutrionist is private but very good - her food advice based around what is tasty as much as anything .- she is on right side of woo as doesn't tend to suggest any other aides that haven't got some scientific basis (I think amber and her would have a lot to discuss).

Gigondas · 18/10/2012 19:28

Oh and gracie don't blame you for your tough love approach with ds1.

graciesmall09 · 18/10/2012 19:37

Will be thinking of you tomorrow gig. I think you will deserve lovely fbs.

smee · 18/10/2012 20:51

Gig, here all day tomorrow to send good scan vibes. I think you will most definitely deserve treats. Smile

Ned, I sent you a long ramble back on fbook yesterday about your fantastic suggestions for DS. Hope you got it. Still got to work my way through the links, but they're all excellent.

Gracie, I have said far worse to my DS am sure. Sometimes it does them good to know they've gone too far.

Jane hope not too achey. Would a warm bath help??

  • MAS phone in the morning apart from anything else it affects your work if your hands are so sore.

Got to go, only just got DS into bed after his judo and am starving. Waves to all though. Hope everyone sleeps well. Smile

KurriKurri · 18/10/2012 21:07

loads of Good Vibes for tomorrow Gig, - will be thinking of you.

meanwhile I will join you on the sofa, - hot bath has helped a little, and will get DH to rub ibuprofen gel in later, am hoping it will be gone in the morning I have keep fit, and I have to go because it's my turn to do the coffees, but I might have to skip the exercise and just man the refreshments hatch! (My friend who is doing coffees with me, is the one who had ovarian cancer test recently - it has just come back all clear - so very relieved for her)

gracie - what is it with boys/men and medicine? - I hope you manage to get him to take the movicol, constipation is so horrid and uncomfortable - but DH will never take anything that will do him good if its vaguely unpleasant, - so i sympathise.

NedSchneebly · 18/10/2012 21:16

Ooh, yes, there it is, smee thanks! Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/10/2012 21:48

oh dear kk that doesn't sound good- hope it eases - go and lie down with jane and gig
Loads of good thoughts for scan gig -will be thinking of you xxx
Will ds eat dried apricots gracie ? think sometimes we need to be very stern - it's a good thing.
Am being a bit wimpy about ringing...but actually if it is sore tomorrow I probably should. Am exhausted after another evening of auntie and mum - the two together is quite trying Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/10/2012 22:13

the luck of Mr kk has touched me and I have won 12 Pieminister pies and a pie cookbook (a White Stuff competition ) yay ! will share them on the trolley...

KurriKurri · 18/10/2012 22:23

Ooh MAS how nice - promise me I can be the first to shout 'who ate all the pies?' GrinGrin

Baskets45 · 18/10/2012 22:42

Very best of luck for tomorrow, gig. Hope it's not too uncomfortable lying still with your sore leg.

MAS, please do call hosp to discuss your hands with them. Sorry you're so exhausted with visiting relatives, meetings etc too. Maybe next week will be more restful? though i'm sure Saturday will be fab for you and Ned.

Poor kurri and jane with those sore bits. Jane, it sounds like you were very lucky though. Kurri, tis awful when your back goes like that - some very gentle & careful yoga stretches might help. You've had so much lately. Hope it all settles again soon.

Gracie, you're halfway through rads now, aren't you? Excellent. It must be tiring though too - esp with the early time slot! (and worrying about ds's bowels)

Justfab - sorry you're feeling rubbish. It can take ages to get over GAs and you still have the stressof not knowing what is up - though good they thought nothing 'sinister' in endometrium.

So who have I missed? - smee, ned, sometimes, Amber, the new people .... Over ( I think i called you OTC by mistake last week. sorry!)- you've been quiet - hope you are okay, not too wiped out by it all.

Topsy and her amazing decorating energy - it seems like yesterday you were discussing plans and there it is done. wow! It shows what i could do if I had the oomph (bought a home decor mag today - something has to change around here, but I am crock with no spare energy)

Anyway, big hugs to all of you.

xxx

Baskets45 · 18/10/2012 22:44

Grin at Who ate all the pies. well done, MAS. I must look up Pieminster - is it some southern delicacy???

smee · 18/10/2012 22:48

Kurri, I missed your back post. Ouch!! Take some more anti inflammatories when you can. Hope it's not too uncomfortable to sleep. Sad

MAS, hooray for pies. I don't know what Pieminster Pies are either. Will follow Baskets to Google. Smile

Baskets45 · 18/10/2012 22:57

All a bit meaty sounding for us veggies. And one of the entrepreneur types looks awfy like David C so that's put me right off him. Smile But good for MAS. Did you not win something a few months ago too? I win nothing ever, but don't try any more either which might explain current lack fo success.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/10/2012 23:00

Waving to baskets Wink
Pieminister pies are v nice - ds very keen on them so he is thrilled !
Mum and her sister are quite funny together but it's exhausting. My cousin is lovely and calming - dad always enjoys seeing her.

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/10/2012 23:02

I did win a weekend away in Cornwall but it was when we were away anyway and wasn't transferable and I wasn't allowed to offer it to anyone else Sad

jchocchip · 18/10/2012 23:37

Friends big bouncy dog very pleased to see me, no walk tonight though, far too dark!

carrying on with the self medicating, this time with Lindor truffles Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 19/10/2012 10:02

Ned - have PM'd you. But looks like a meet up may have to be shelved.....

Much love to all xxx

Gigondas · 19/10/2012 10:17

Can I have one jchoc? Scan done and staff lovely- difference between going to main hospital and specialist cancer place.

Am now eating yoghurt ( bleurgh) and smoothie as trying to follow new diet Hmm

I can see a fbs overload later.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/10/2012 10:21

well done gig
Hope you're feeling less bruised today jane
and how are you kk ?

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 19/10/2012 14:11

Afternoon all,

My back is still very stiff and sore, _ I have taken strong pain killers, and now feel quite spacey. I explained this to a friend this morning and said - 'If I talk rubbish, it's because I'm drugged to the eyeballs' - she said 'no one will notice the difference, you always talk rubbish' Grin

Well done on getting through your scan Gig, and glad they were nice to you.

My surgery has invited me for an MHS free health check, (like an MOT I think) at which they will test my cholesterol, measure and weigh me and tell me I am far too fat and terribly unhealthy and advise me on my lifestyle. Think I might do it, since its free - although a bit of a faff because you have to do a fasting blood test two weeks before the check.

Don't know if all surgeries are sending them out. or just here in Norfolk. DH didn't get one, so maybe I was selected as being a potential cholesterol laden fatty.

Love to all - don't work too hard Sometimes. jchoc hope you aren't too bruised.

MAS - how are the hands, did you ring the BCN?

Gigondas · 19/10/2012 14:26

Yes mas have you rung.

Grin at spacey painkillers- am also on them but no spacey effect. The healthcheck sounds a good idea kurri.

Have a particularly inelegant but quite effective treatment on stiff leg - castor oil pack. Yes it is as messy as it sounds.

Also found time to pick up a retro DVD for big gig for half term.. Anyone remember dogtanian and the muskehounds?

NedSchneebly · 19/10/2012 14:32

Afternoon all - quick pop in before picking up DS and heading to DSis for weekend

gig well done on getting your scan done - when will you get the results?

Kurri sorry to hear that your back is still creaky. Are your pain killers anti-inflammatories as well? i.e. Ibuprofen/ Asprin? Might help with muscle pain and reduce swelling. Thinking of you x x

Jchoc hope you are recovering OK. Take it easy, won't you?

Sometimes will wave in a vaguely northerly direction towards you when you're down this way!

justfab how's you today? Thinking of you x

MAS SEE YOU TOMORROW!

Waves to Gracie, baskets, topsy, smee, OTM, and anyone else I've missed.

Lots of love to all - hope lots of nice plans for the weekend x x

NedSchneebly · 19/10/2012 14:33

Xpost gig - Dogtanian and the Muskehounds - yes, yes, yes! Excellent retro enjoyment for all the family!

KurriKurri · 19/10/2012 14:36

Oh Dogtanian and the Muskehounds - my DS used to love that, also something called Round the World with Willy Fogg (or something like that) which had about 1000 episodes.

I think I will go for the health check - they might have some good suggestions for healthier living, and it's FREE.Grin

castor oil pack sounds interesting, - did you get that from the hospital?

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/10/2012 14:48

I remember Round the World with Willy Fogg...
Trying to think what I might wear so that ned will recognise me tomorrow- stripes may feature...
Bcn didn't seemed worried about my hands when I contacted her yesterday - they aren't peeling (yet) which is I guess when it might be a real problem, but am managing to draw quite happily. It says in the bits about capecitabine that the hand and foot syndrome can be helped by keeping hands and feet cool and not doing manual work (?) and slathering in moisturising cream.
