here we go...

Oh, I'm OK thanks, Ned. Still finding my head a bit too fuzzy for work, and I have to go to Bristol tomorrow to a meeting, so I may have to lie on the back seat (I'm not driving, obvs) as I'm not sure I can sit that long in a car yet. Will have to see how it goes. I'm best off working, though, it keeps me out of all sorts of trouble.

Sounds to me like you have done enough for now. Get a good book and join Gracie on the sofa (I have just had half an hour there and it was nice, if a bit of a squeeze) Smile Bloody fly kept buzzing around my head though, perhaps i should shower more often Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 13:02

waves to ned and thanks sometimes for not forgiving that particular author...

Sometimesiwonder · 30/05/2012 13:10

The man's an arse.... Hmm

KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 14:18

Afternoon everyone. Smile

I am sending work vibes (for new jobs and new work projects - Autumn and MAS)

Hugs for people feeling poorly, recovering from ops or having chemo yukness - gracie, Ned, j, Fluffy, Sometimes and Smee

Autumn - good vibes and candle lit for your results tomorrow xx

Amber - good plumbing vibes for your loo.

topsy - hope that wound starts behaving pronto and they can sort it for you at home.

Gig - you are making us jealous posting from French France, - thanks for the link to photos of Katie P - I shall download them and tell my plastic surgeon to use them as inspiration when I have my reconstruction Grin

Do you think a 52 year old with very plump legs could carry off that pink stockings and high heels look? (oh pleeeease say yes)

Teenage boys start improving around 19yrs from what I remember, teenage girls ditto! - then they suddenly become pleasant human beings. I like to think of it as them going into a cocoon of grumpiness, hormones and unreasonableness for a few years, then emerging as a beautiful butterfly at the end Smile (easy to say when you have the butterflies, not so easy when you are living with a cocoon! Grin)

I went to yoga this morning, - my shoulder still hurts a lot, but last time I had this problem the physio said keep using it or it will seize up. So am trying to carry on as normal.

DD and I are going to an induction for the gym facilities at the university next week, so I can get wobbling about like a weeble going on the old treadmill.

love to all.

smee · 30/05/2012 14:27

Ooh, Kurri does this mean lycra?! Grin

MAS, hope you get the book. How exciting. Smile

Sometimes Shock at you going to Bristol. Are you sure that's a good idea??

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 14:37

did I miss something about Bristol ? waves to smee.

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 14:40

I think I'll wait for the treadmill to do its work before I risk lycra Smee Grin - meantime I shall wear jogging bottoms and a t-shirt

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 14:41

kk sorry to hear that shoulder is troublesome but I think the trick is to keep using it,ouchy though. Good luck with gym- am too intimidated by fit people to go... I do have my nice new yoga mat to use,so might do a bit of mindful yoga later.
Btw- posted this on MN but thought you'd maybe like it- I was looking up a book I illustrated for the author of the possible new job and found a link to this cute little girl reading it - www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6VySoI2W0U Poppy's Pancake Day

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 14:42

smee · 30/05/2012 14:42

Ah, Kurri. Bound to happen at some point, and doesn't sound like it was your fault. Your DH was right, best to get back in and drive straight away.

MAS, Sometimes is doing her Wonder Woman impression again, so going to Bristol for a work meeting tomorrow.

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 14:43

oh kk poor you- night driving isn't easy, esp in country lanes - good that you carried on though afterwards.

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 14:44

gah -sometimes that sounds a bit much -you're only recently out of hospital Shock

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 14:49

Ahhh MAS - isn't she sweet? Smile - I love the way she chuckles at the funny bits. - It must be lovely to see someone enjoying a book you've worked on.

KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 14:51

Yes - I guess everyone has little bumps occasionally, - I didn't realise how limited the view is at night (especially out in the sticks with no lighting)

Where's the duct tape for Sometimes?

KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 15:00

MAS - many apologies, have only just seen your e-mail - I haven't been able to get into my e-mails since the weekend for some technical reason which is beyond me. Anyway - I'll PM you later Smile

Sometimesiwonder · 30/05/2012 15:05

Ah KK, your dh was absolutely right to get you to get back in the saddle straight away. Good on you for getting your first prang out of the way.

No honestly, guys, it'll be fine going to Bristol. DH is driving and we are only having lunch with some people. Even I can manage eating and drinking. I can even deal with talking about work a bit while I do it. Then I can recline on the back seat once clients have naffed off so they don't see how decrepit I really am

Off to look at YouTube link...

Sometimesiwonder · 30/05/2012 15:08

Oh so cute. I love her little accent as well.... Smile

smee · 30/05/2012 15:39

x-posted MAS. v.cute. How amazing to see a child reading your work. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 15:40

I know ! It's made my day ! cute little thing Grin

I joined this thread a couple of days ago, just got my results, all clear.Over the moon. Thanks for the lovely coments and words of wisdom x

NedSchneebly · 30/05/2012 17:10

caught that's fabulous news, you must be thrilled! Hope you can celebrate in style tonight Smile we love a good all clear over here!

sometimes hope you have a successful trip tomorrow - take it easy, and pack plenty of FBS for the journey to fortify yourself!

kurri if it's any comfort, I did exactly the same last year. Except that I have been driving for nearly 20 years, it was not a particularly narrow road, and it was daylight . . . Blush Definitely good plan of DHs to make you carry on, however brutal it felt at the time! Good plan to join the gym. I consider Lycra to be the work of the Devil and all his horned helpers. . .

MAS fab video and fab illustrations!

Waves to all - bit cooler here today, so don't know if we've had the Dorset summer?!

KurriKurri · 30/05/2012 17:36

Caught - that is brilliant news, - so pleased for you Smile

Ned - it is a comfort to know its easily done, - I have been feeling more confident in my driving as I do more, so I don't want to let it put me off.

Lycra is an unforgiving fabric for the more buttockally challenged among us. My idea of sports fashion is to hide everything under a giant t-shirt, in the hope that people will think I am a thin person in big clothes Grin

Elibean · 30/05/2012 17:57

Kurri, in the interest of driver self-esteem, I have to share my first post-test proper non-learner driving journey experience with you. I actually drove into a table - admittedly sticking out of someone's Mini's boot - at some traffic lights on a downhill slope. Legend has it I was putting mascara on instead of concentrating on keeping my foot on the brake, but its not true, really - its just clutch control on hills is tricky Grin

Wing mirror clipping, otoh, is normal driverly behaviour and no one is a real full blooded driver until they've done it. So congratulations!

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/05/2012 18:00

excellent news caught -so pleased for you Grin
Take care tomorrow sometimes

Sometimesiwonder · 30/05/2012 18:10

Fantastic news, Caught - well done. x

it is absolutely stair rodding it down here. And it would appear our guttering is blocked. Sigh.
