I did wonder how her wound was- now I know

NedSchneebly · 03/04/2012 19:14

Grin arf@ holsten clearly not held back by her wound!

jchocchip · 03/04/2012 22:19

Only 4 chocolate free days before Easter Sunday... Not that I'm counting :) Computer system has had an 'upgrade' so not working properly :( Need to get lots of reports written so I can count down towards my holiday :) Good luck for tomorrow, ned. Shock at Holsten's interesting afternoon!

topsyturner · 03/04/2012 22:33

Am last one up again in my house .
Even pig/dog is upside down on his bed snoring Smile

It's DHs birthday tomorrow and as I have been stuck in the house with 2 sick children I haven't been able to get out and get him anything .
I even had to order his cards online , and they won't arrive till after he leaves for work .
I feel so bad for him Sad

Maybe I could get holsten to give him a go on her DFS ... Grin

And just to put the cherry on top , George Galloway is on Newsnight . That man gives me the creeps !

topsyturner · 03/04/2012 22:34

Oh and we had snow today !

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/04/2012 23:03

erk at George Galloway...
mm,guess holsten is fully healed...

had a lovely evening with NZ rellies ! so nice - lots of pictures - NZ looks amazing - fab scenery,horses,dogs- sigh.

OP posts:
jchocchip · 04/04/2012 08:01

It's snowing! Bit wet here in town, but looks like there is lots on the hills. Time for a Brew Thinking of ned today.

Gigondas · 04/04/2012 08:30

Lots of love and hugs to Ned today.

I will have that coffee j.
No snow here but one tired big gig as had long day with her cousins. Dsd and her bf coming over to help later as an still draining.

Nanny was somewhat surprised at formal email we sent about reviewing her health etc. said we were over reacting as not been off much (which was true until about 6 weeks ago...) .

Mas the evening with your cousins sounds lovely. Not been to nz but If it's like Tasmania it will be amazing.

OneInEight · 04/04/2012 08:56

Yippee, no sickness with docetaxol. Am thinking Holsten had a better day then me yesterday (well probably all of us). Hope your treatment goes well today, Ned. Snowy here so lots of excuses for lazy day inside keeping warm.

MAS - sorry to hear your Mum is so low but totally understandable with a progressive illness. Can she be persuaded to take anti-depressants even for a short while as that might allow her to access any options for physiopherapy and occupational therapy that are on offer.

jchocchip · 04/04/2012 10:12

Thats good 1in8. I'm lazing around. Should be at knitting group, booked the morning off work but don't want to go in this weather! Will get going soon and maybe go to the gym before work at 1. Not letting the cat out. He is a bit miffed but I know he would get soaked and bring sogginess in...

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/04/2012 11:38

no snow or anything here,so expect ned is having mild weather too- hope she is ok.
1in8 hooray for no sickness - I think holsten had a very good day yesterday !!

Mum did start on some anti depressants but said they didn't work (impatient) I also think she is unwilling to take more medication as she's on a shed load at present for PD and rheumatics and osteoarthritis -and some blood stuff too. She did have a fair bit of physio after she broke her femur, which got her moving pretty well.Perhaps Occupational therapy might be an idea.
NZ rellies have gone to Sissinghurst, then London again- flying home on Sunday. So nice ! They loved the b&b I found for them- it sounds so nice I'm tempted to go there !

KurriKurri · 04/04/2012 12:38

1in8 - hooray for no sickness, - enjoy your lazy day Smile - no snow here but very cold and wet, so I'm not venturing out either.

Love to Ned for treatment - I hope everything goes well - halfway through is good going Smile

I'm glad you had a lovely time with NZ relations MAS, - it does look like a beautiful country from pictures I've seen.
It may be something she's not at all keen on, but has your mum considered Reiki? -I've never tried it, and I know it's borderline woo, but I have several friends who absolutely swear by it, and the feelings of well being and relaxation it produces. I'm sure someone would be willing to come to her house to do it.

Enjoy your knitting group jane, and hope you can get those reports out of the way soon and relax over Easter.

topsy -I'm sure DH will understand about lack of birthday pressies, can you get him or make him a cake for the day?
George Galloway is a very strange man, - I'm glad I missed him.

Gig - it's good that nanny has got the message, even if she was taken aback, she's an employee and in any other job she would receive a similar e-mail.
Did midi Gig enjoy herself at Granny's yesterday? It's good DSD is going to help out, so you don't have to cope with little ones at your appointment. When do you go back to the hospital.

I was supposed to go to yoga this morning, but still have a touch (or two!) of the anti biotic runs (TMI) so didn't fancy risking downward facing dog Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/04/2012 14:07

a good thought about reiki kk -I just have a feeling she'll dismiss any suggestions
Your downward facing dog at yoga made me Smile - you and farting man,now there's an image...
Hope dh has a good birthday topsy

Brew for everyone

Gigondas · 04/04/2012 15:46

Feet up Ned - well done for getting through it.

KurriKurri · 04/04/2012 16:56

well done Ned, take it easy.

yes please to Brew amber Smile

My elderly aunty (you may remember I wrote about her being Dx with BC a little while ago) is having a lymph node clearance next week I think. She's been told the cancer in her breast is grade 3 and that in her nodes is grade 2, and they are going to give her 4 weeks radio therapy.

I think she has been googling and got in a bit of a flap, plus her son's wife is a Doctor, and they live in America and keep trying to persuade her to go over there as she'll get 'better treatment' which I personally think is rubbish, and not helpful - I think she's just rather confused about it all, and she had to wait hours to see her consultant so of course was tired and stressed when it was being explained.

Little old lady dog pulled the swing bin in the kitchen over this afternoon and emptied the contents all over the floor, - I came in to torn up teabags, and other revoltingness. - She's turned naughty in her old age! [GRIN]

Gigondas · 04/04/2012 17:11

Grin at dogs- I have nostalgia for when mine did that kind of thing (the floor eating and then have a drink of water took hours to get out her fur).

Kk- agree re treatment in us not being better. And poor thing- dx chat horrid enough without hours of waiting.

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/04/2012 17:30

well done ned - have a good rest xxx
kk poor aunt- and yes,not helpful to have other treatments waved in front of you - I think she'll be treated just as well here in the UK.

Pig/dog decided to do battle with a plastic bottle filled with soda water today (in the garden thank goodness)
Every time he tried to pick it up he pierced it some more and it kept spraying him in the face .
Hours of fun for me to watch Grin

Hope everyone is having a good day today , bet holsten is walking like John Wayne Grin

Gigondas · 04/04/2012 21:27

I realise this is daft but why was pig/dog fighting a bottle?

Nanny been round for a stern friendly chat and due back next week. Fingers crossed air cleared- dh good at that sort of thing.

Drain still on so best make it an easter bonnet

topsyturner · 04/04/2012 22:16

Pig/dog was fighting with a bottle because I dared to leave it to chill on my back doorstep !
He thinks anything left in the garden (or anywhere else to be honest) must have been put there for the express purpose of entertaining him Grin

Hope the nanny listened well to the chat today ! I hate having to confront people , and would have probably just moaned a lot to DH and said nothing to nanny !

Gigondas · 04/04/2012 22:19

Oh If it was me that would have been my route but dh sorted it.

That kind of logic is very dog. It's like my dog who used to bark at me when I wore hats.
