Actually it wasn't too bad - the last ingredient was a load of spinach which seemed to cool it down a bit, and we had it with lots of yogurt. Still had a bit of a kick though! Grin

topsyturner · 20/03/2012 19:22

Give it time kk , it may creep up on you Grin

Evening everyone and welcome to our new ladies.

Happy Birthday, what's left of it, to Greylady - I hope you're enjoying your special dinner, it sounded fab. As did the present from your DH, lucky you. I hope you're soreness has eased a little today. Sudocrem is a wondrous product and I'm sure it will help. Good luck with the 'airing' - I had to do that after radiotherapy turned my skin black and blistery, whilst the heating engineer was here installing a new boiler. I barricaded myself in the living room while DH brought me lots of Brew and FBS. Grin

Gig, sorry to hear about the infection. Sad My scar (only about an inch of it) got infected three or four times (I lost count) and is finally on the mend but I still wear a gauze pad under my bra to stop it rubbing and breaking down. Laughing at Barbie Olympics. Grin

KK, horrified at the antics of your neighbours, what a weird bunch!! Am intrigued about earth moving and piles of soil etc. My mum always made v.hot curries but used to serve them with finely chopped cucumber and tomato and a yoghurt sauce to cool the mouth down. Glad yours turned out well in the end.

Sending 'Good luck' wishes to probably for tomorrow. I hope it's good news.

MAS, I love the sound of your DH's book. I'm sure your illustrations will do it justice. What a responsibility though.

Smee, am giggling at thought of a minaret in your garden and being abseilled down.

Sparkle, chocolate cakes? Are there any left? I shouldn't really as I'm another one putting on weight and wondering if it's the letrozole or just the effects of overeating? Blush I haven't weighed myself for a while, too frightened of what I might see on the display. Eeek!!!

Jane, which breadmaker did you go for? You use yours a lot and are obviously pleased with the results. Would you recommend it?

Topsy am truly flabbergasted the BC nurse never got back to you. Have you tried again?

Am off for a hot bath in a mo. Too much gardening on Sunday - over three hours - and I am aching a lot a tad. I've also been giving our bearded collie extra grooming sessions following a telling off from the grooming lady because he was a bit knotted. It takes it's toll, all that bending down and brushing. I'm determined he will be knot free next time he goes so need to keep on top of it. Good exercise though.

jchocchip · 20/03/2012 19:54

Glad your curry turned out ok kk, a bit of a kick is good, isn't it?

Swim was good- not busy, 5-8 people there. The later session is so crowded we end up swimming in circles so I'm glad I remembered the earlier one.

Ds made fajitas for tea from a kit. Not very spicy and some sour cream sauce to go with them. Cat prefers his chicken spice free though :)

Mum has been to her falls extend class today. They were talking about getting her an electric wheelchair to move about the house and also some day care at a nursing home around the corner. She did manage a stand, but very painful she said.

Work tomorrow and then another two days off. Have managed to promise Aunty a trip out Thursday and meeting friend for lunch Friday, so its all go!

Have some fruit cake for the fbs trolley. If you like treacle, its really nice! No fat no sugar as such...

Ilovegeorgeclooney · 20/03/2012 19:55

Hello all, sorry I have been awol, everything got on top of me and just getting through work/family stuff was too much. However DD1 had her final treatment(fingers crossed) today and I feel so much brighter. I have read through the posts and would like to send my best to all.

jchocchip · 20/03/2012 20:14

xpost figgy, and just lost my long post on the virtues of my Panasonic 2500. Big and expensive and I've no experience of another to compare. Yes I still love it and bread smells good to come home to.

Hi ilgc good to hear that dd1 has had her final treatment. Has she managed to keep studying? How is dd2? Not surprised it has all been too much, you have had an horendous year. I hope you can hold onto that brighter feeling now spring has arrived.

Gigondas · 20/03/2012 20:20

Thanks Figgy- it's a nuisance but feeling bit better now.

Another vote for Panasonic breadmaker here - got ours 3 years ago and it's been in constant use since .

Gigondas · 20/03/2012 20:21

ILGc hold onto that spring feeling and lots of good wishes for your dds

LimeJellyforBrains · 20/03/2012 20:30

And my very best to you, ILGC Smile. You getting through the work/family stuff must be more than enough. Great news about your darling girl x

topsyturner · 20/03/2012 20:54

Good to see you ilgc , and glad you are feeling a bit better .

Dont think BC nurse knows who I am to be honest . I haven't seen her since I was diagnosed last May .
They just seem to be really thin on the ground here .
DH was nagging me today about my shortness of breath , but there isn't really anyone else I can speak to apart from BC nurse .
GP tells you to contact the oncology team , but to get to an oncologist I have to go through the BC nurse first !
Ah well , will try again tomorrow Smile

It's DDs 9th birthday tomorrow , she is very excited . We have presents (all craft related this year) and chocolate cake all ready and waiting .

LimeJellyforBrains · 20/03/2012 20:55

Oh Holsten, {{hugs}} to you, bastard anxiety attack. Sending good vibes for an undisturbed night tonight x

Smee - that minaret wouldn't be built out of Lego by any chance? Grin

topsyturner · 20/03/2012 20:55

LimeJellyforBrains · 20/03/2012 20:59

Oh Topsy your DD has the same birthday as me!

DH on early shift this week so took boys into town before tea today to buy presents (talk about last minute Hmm). Some kind of cake has also been purchased and hidden, so between the 2 of us birthday girls there should be plenty of fbs for the trolley tomorrow, yay!

jchocchip · 20/03/2012 21:00

Hope you get a good night holsten. Brew and an early night for me now. Will sleep better in my own bed...

Am toying with the idea of taking part in a scientific study of brain patterns in people with OCD (some OU thing- was flagged up on the OCD fb page- I liked it on there and they've asked if I might be interested )- bit scary though- as in what might I find out-though very interesting.
