Just that. What do you think?

Frightening

HundredAcreOwl · 05/07/2024 02:25

I think so too, but want to be fair, open to opinions.

Well done Nigel, Richard and Co!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/07/2024 02:29

Does Farage deserve any credit for this one? Lee Anderson was the sitting MP and Deputy Chairman of the Tory Party until quite recently! Dreadful man.

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2024 02:30

He looked grumpy and bored. There was no big speech. Did he even mention Farage? Surely he should be buzzing at being Reform's first win of the night.ConfusedHmm

Zonder · 05/07/2024 02:30

I blame the Tories for stirring up hatred and suspicion and paving the way for a party like Reform.

ClawedUkelele · 05/07/2024 02:33

It's not hugely surprising given that he was the incumbent. Minimum expectations would be for him and Farage to win their seats.

blackcherryconserve · 05/07/2024 02:34

At least George Galloway lost his seat!

He could barely string two words together.

nomoretoriesforme · 05/07/2024 02:36

Yes! Congrats to Reform!

Anyone remember the purring cat incident?

<shudders> All too vividly.

MelainesLaugh · 05/07/2024 02:38

Fantastic. Congratulations to Reform

Is that 30p Lee who defected to Reform a few months ago?

lucylulululu · 05/07/2024 02:49

Ah yes. The Reform Party. The party that houses despicable cretins who refer to autistic people as 'vegetables'. Wow what a GREAT party.
Thank god they won't be leading the country.

Mouswife · 05/07/2024 02:50

I wouldn’t believe everything you read in the papers.
most of the nasty speech you are hearing about is being planned and I seriously doubt the secret recordings are secret. All the parties are trying to shit on each other.

Agree.

This going to be stunts and cockups and secret recordings of racist remarks. For months.

Cretins is a similarly ableist term, FYI. I know it's not as widely known as it should be.

Whoooois · 05/07/2024 02:54

Reform are the best! Better than labour, letting everyone in the country on the boats!

LiterallyOnFire · 05/07/2024 02:56

It's going to be a troll circus all night now isn't it?

OuijaBoard · 05/07/2024 03:01

I mean, it's the same guy who was already the MP for that constituency. I don't think the sky is going to fall (or that anyone's going to be able to make dinner for 10p) any time soon. Reform's basically UKIP, and they have also had MPs...

Hopefully not on this thread...genuine interest from me.

I love election results when they announce them, it's like a very useful map of where never to bother visiting/living. It's always handy to know I can easily avoid the racist, sexist Mr Farage fans.

StripedPiggy · 05/07/2024 03:10

I’m not surprised at all. I know Ashfield well, because I grew up a few miles down the road. Lee Anderson is a local man. An ex-miner who represents a ex-mining area. He sounds, acts & speaks like the people he represents, and he shares their views. Isn’t that what an MP is supposed to be?
