To think the UK will become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, hell-scape if Labour win?

AIBU to be worried that within 2-3 years of a Labour victory, the UK will become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian hell-scape?

Kier Starmer seems like a mad, leftist radical to me. It starts with VAT on school fees but where does it end???

I’m also really concerned that the imminent collapse of civilisation will have a big impact on house prices, and leave us in negative equity.

Anyone else?

Can't believe lots of posters did not immediately clock that the OP was being sarcastic Confused

DramaLlamaBangBang · 24/05/2024 16:30

Yeah I have been worried about this since watching that scary documentary on Prime- 'Fallout' which is clearly about a Labour victory. Those ghouls are obviously people who have had the covid vaccine! That's a fact.

Caththegreat · 24/05/2024 16:30

You are joking? Sorry not entirely sure

KatyaKabanova · 24/05/2024 16:30

I hear what you say OP. Affordable energy, more investment in the NHS and state schooling is just going to make the oiks more lazy and dependent on state support. Which party will bring back workhouses? They'll have my vote.

MrsMurphyIWish · 24/05/2024 16:30

Actually, I’d be quite pleased. My RL friends know I choose my friendships based on how useful people will be in the apocalypse. I watch programmes like “the waking dead” and “sweet tooth” as documentaries - I’ll be awesome in an apocalypse! I can finally put all that knowledge to good use!

‘become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian hell-scape…’

Have you taken a look at what’s happening in our country right now? I wouldn’t be as dramatic as you, but in my very affluent city we’ve got people with few teeth, no healthcare, lying piss-soaked on the ground with no one to help them.

Before you start, no, no one chooses this and, no, we don’t live in a country where pretty much everyone has the same opportunities and can ‘make it’.

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 24/05/2024 16:31

🤣🤣🤣

Soukmyfalafel · 24/05/2024 16:31

I hear there is a defensive shield from nuclear weapons around private schools. No wonder you are fucked off. Relegated to the lower tier and you are all going to have to fry like the rest of us plebs.

On mumsnet, it’s a realistic post unfortunately 🤣

At least we've got blue passports - it's not all bad

The sea serpents will eat us anyway

WomanMumLoverDaughterStepmumFriend · 24/05/2024 16:33

Is this satire ? Do you really think anyone is worse than the current buffoons ?

tennesseewhiskey1 · 24/05/2024 16:03

i mean - your not going to get much support on here, mumsnet is quite left! - TBF, i do think you sound a bit hysterical tho! (i am a tory btw)

I hear you. I'm really concerned that the amputation of my leg will leave me unable to paint my toe nails.

I work in a private school - we’ve had a large bunker built that can sustain staff and children until the Tories get back in.

We’re all trading our designer handbags for the best cubicle.

I mean from where I’m standing it already looks like a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian hellscape. Personally I'm just worried for Larry. I wonder if he’d like to come live with me instead.

The nuclear fallout means that Larry now has two heads and has developed a womb and has just given birth to an Octocat.

Meadowfinch · 24/05/2024 16:37

Uhmm, I don't think even Labour could manage that. 😂

^This. It's satire for goodness sake. OP is making a light-hearted jibe at Tory voters making hand-wringing threads and some of you are taking it in earnest. Rock on OP; I'm a Tory voter and thought your post was very funny.

InMySpareTime · 24/05/2024 16:38

I'm planning to dig up my lawn and grow my own Triffid army, but with the VAT on private schools I'll have to home educate them.
Failing that, I'll just head down the Archers for a pint and wait for it to all blow over 🧟‍♀️

Tbf, some of the ‘real’ posts on here are not far away from this, so it doesn’t work.

TheresNoFudgeHere · 24/05/2024 16:43

As opposed to it already being that? Jesus Christ, give your head a wobble.

KatyaKabanova · 24/05/2024 16:44

I've heard that when Labour get in, self identification as a cat will become compulsory and you'll be able to get cat litter and flea collars on prescription. Private schools will be commandeered and used as free accommodation for asylum seekers. All true, Keir spoke to me through the dishwasher.

What do you mean "reduced to"? You mean you still have candle stubs where you are?
