To think the UK will become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, hell-scape if Labour win?

Fiftypencepiece · 24/05/2024 13:02

AIBU to be worried that within 2-3 years of a Labour victory, the UK will become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian hell-scape?

Kier Starmer seems like a mad, leftist radical to me. It starts with VAT on school fees but where does it end???

I’m also really concerned that the imminent collapse of civilisation will have a big impact on house prices, and leave us in negative equity.

Anyone else?

This is the problem. They all think that you’re joking, and it’s funny.

but what you’re saying is closer to the truth than anyone dares imagine because they are blinded by their normalcy bias and ego investments.

unfortunately the only way out is through, but at least those of us that can see it are somewhat prepared. All the rest will be in a very very bad state as things progress the way they’re destined to.

Good luck!

And yours is also a funny callback to the first joke. Children will be forced to sing about the 31 genders at the start of each school assembly under a staring porteait of Comrade Starmer that has replaced all the expensive portrait of King Charles that were printed up at great expense. Resist !!

@IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour Completely agree we're not above anyone else, and have contributed to a huge amount of shit around the world. And I'm definitely not advocating US foreign policy as a guiding principle. But I would definitely say that you can't just listen to the politicians - they are ALL trying to sell you the version of themselves that smells sweetest. Read the independent commentators, seek out book (not just journos). I hugely recommend Catherine Belton's book about Putin, for a start.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out

fucking hell... Tory HQ is on a roll today.

Hint - it isn't working Tarquin. Go look for your next spad job instead.

How many more of these are we going to get before July 4th?

Lest we forget......

Oh was it sarcasm? The shame I thought it was the rant of a mad person. My bad.

Sadly I have had a number of conversations over the past few days with people talking about leaving the UK if labour gets in so I was feeling particularly prickly and just read the OP first post and then started typing.

as you were people. Sorry!

Well that will cancel out the boat people so we will no longer have to stop them. All good.

You can mock me, but you won’t be laughing when your house is forcibly requisitioned by the state to be converted into a collectivist art therapy centre.

Edited

I would love this! We definitely need more art.

TeaGinandFags · 24/05/2024 19:52

Given that Keir Starmer hasn't got any opinions on anything and changes his policies like a weather vane in a thunderstorm, I feel that if he gets in we may well be fucked.

Certainly, pervy men will be calling themselves ladies and it will be illegal to say otherwise.

I will be found in the underground resistance.

What worries me is that ALL OF OUR CHILDREN will be forced to identify as cheetahs at school. Apart from when it is drag queen club on a Thursday lunchtime (on the school field if sunny; in the woodwork room if wet.)

Bloody woke politicians. .

😂😂

That’s all to dramatic, things will just get gradually more difficult for anyone in work and trying to make a living.

More people taking from society, just means it collapses quicker. We’re over the rubicon. That which is being taken cannot be supported by those working and contributing. Fanciful notions of “taxing the rich” don’t work so it has to collapse.

as I said, it’s when, not if, and the only way out is through.

See you there, we’ll need more gin I think.

Bushwhacked20 · 24/05/2024 20:15

Only if you're a rabid self centred immoral Tory. Have you been in a box for the last 14 years or something or just a Daily Heil enclave somewhere in Harrogate?

KatyaKabanova · 24/05/2024 20:19

This is getting tricky.
I can't work out if some people are still actually taking the OP seriously or are trying to be equally satirical in response?.

Perhaps it’s both? Even my Labour friends are nervous, the LP don’t inspire confidence do they? And maybe a hellscape is tongue in cheek or maybe there is a shred of truth in it. Either way it’s very uncomfortable isn’t it… and most people would rather not vote for either!

Atethehalloweenchocs · 24/05/2024 20:23

Are you resigned to the dystopia then or is there hope in Tory world as they gayly chant "14 more years ?

No, according to the BBC polls tracker, the two parties are definitely dominating.

TeamPolin · 24/05/2024 20:29

Those unpaid interns at Tory HQ have been playing around with ChatGBT again, I see...

It’s a mixture of both I think, stunning as it is that OP is still getting outraged responses from the slow on the uptake. Makes it all the funnier 😂

We can leave this planet on a Battlestar Galactica 🙄

I’m planning on watching the Mad Max films to prepare but I’m not sure whether to watch them in order of release or in chronological order of when they are set.

Aha!

Not surprised.

I fell asleep watching Starmer speak earlier.
