OwlCapone oh yeah... Blush

Raskova when it comes up with the alternative, it usually has a little cross next to it so you can delete it if you don't want it.

I am loving some of these tips but I can't find the multitasking setting and I want to try it.

Chrysanthemumtea · 09/05/2014 23:21

Brilliant thread.

Bumply · 09/05/2014 23:22

If you've got the iPhone set to rotate between portrait and landscape as you move it, but want to carry on reading in "landscape" while lying in bed, hold it with the home key facing up and it will stay in "landscape".

Chrysanthemumtea · 09/05/2014 23:22

Didn't know that re clock and now I am looking at it and the second hand is moving and I can't believe I didn't notice that before!

Sidge · 09/05/2014 23:31

If you double tap the shift key on the keyboard it acts like caps lock.

NomDePrune · 09/05/2014 23:38

If you turn on LED alert ( settings, general, accessibility, hearing) you get a flashing light for texts and calls - useful when on silent mode.

Siri knows some geeky jokes. Just ask him.

Raskova · 10/05/2014 00:07

If you want to spare your battery life, double click the central button, and all the open apps will pop up. To close them, swipe them upwards one by one. (tip courtesy of DD1)

wildernessagogo · 10/05/2014 00:58

Ok - who's Siri?

Crazy8 · 10/05/2014 01:09

Why has Siri suddenly developed an English accent on my iPad? I'm very confused.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 10/05/2014 01:09

The little torch is
Fab for doing the night feeds!! And I not sure if I'm the only one but I don't think you do save battery by closing the apps!

You do save battery by closing the apps. They're not running in the background so your phone is doing less meaning it uses less battery Grin

Now that was embarrassing on a thread like this!
I locked my screen so it won't keep going landscape on me and I forgot how I did it.

MarcusAurelius · 10/05/2014 07:44

If you search in Spotlight for a deleted email or text you'll find it.

Thecircle · 10/05/2014 07:51

I found out a simple but effective one via Facebook a few weeks ago.

To find out what time iMessages were sent hold down the message and pull it inwards- time will appear

MarcusAurelius · 10/05/2014 07:56

I like the one about whizzing up to the top of the page. Very useful.

weatherall · 10/05/2014 07:56

On my old iPhone 4S (2011) the calendar would highlight the days when I had created events. My new 4s (2014) doesn't do this. I have to click on each individual day.

I find this very frustrating and renders the calendar uzless IMO!

What can I do?

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 10/05/2014 07:57

How do you do the autocomplete thing? Would be v handy.

Marmaladecat1 · 10/05/2014 08:08

If you want to send multiple photos in an email use the select key in photos and then click the email button as normal :)

OwlCapone · 10/05/2014 08:11

You can now choose male or female for both US and UK English.

CremolaDItalia · 10/05/2014 08:14

Weatheralll I hate this too. Would love a solution

Raskova · 10/05/2014 08:18

Coffee. Swipe up from the bottom of a screen and a grey box comes up. It's the furthest right icon.

I hated the mans voice. Is births she Siri very posh?

I only have an iPhone 4 (not even an S) but am really considering getting a new one.
