  1. Can I turn off the auto correct thumbing gaaaaaaah SEE it won't let me type thing-umy.

2.is there any way of adding the apostrophe key onto the qwerty screen instead of having it in the .?123 screen. Blardy annoying having to dip in and out of screens to put a apostrophe in. Can I exchange it for one of the shift arrows? I only need one.

  1. How do I scroll up and down in the mn message box. Can't work out how to move to the bottom or top of the text after I have previewed it.
  1. Will I ever be able to stop playing Angry Birds?

MmeLindt - have now sorted the problem with your blog- I deleted it & resubscribed - I had to do it three or four times because it kept coming up blank, but it finally worked when I subscribed by tapping on one of the posts further down the page rather than the default link at the top. Anyway, am now enjoying it, so thanks for the Blogshelf recommendation, and the blog!

Haven't read all of this, so sorry if it's already been said, but if you need to scroll in the message box (or any box in a screen) use 2 fingers instead of one and you should be able to scroll up and down :)

brambleschooks · 14/01/2011 18:28

ok I'm officially an ipad addict. I normally surf on the ipad but have been working on the laptop and wondering why I can't scroll by moving my fingers around the laptop screen.
d'oh

bramble the hard restart worked thank you.

I actually missed the autocorrect on the aged lap top last night, shows how terrible my spelling usually is.

brambleschooks · 14/01/2011 19:10

yay!
Now can you fix my car for me? It's grinding. Are there a couple of buttons I can press on it?
(got to go to mechanic's on a w/e emoticon :( )

SlubberdeGurnard · 14/01/2011 19:30

yes I can fix it, but not by pressing buttons on it. You have to take it to a garage and then press the buttons corresponding to your pin number on their credit card doohickey.

Someone out the back does something expensive and hoorah it's all fixed.

brambleschooks · 14/01/2011 19:37

Ok. Mutters that I should have asked the cake question instead as obvs a shoe, Swiss army knife and a tack hammer, my normal tools of choice, are not going to fix this baby.

SlubberdeGurnard · 14/01/2011 20:34

I find only the barclaycard resolves my car problems. Sorry.

brambleschooks · 14/01/2011 22:17

Garnishes slubber with fennel as a thank you.

SoupDragon · 15/01/2011 15:28

You need Car Mechanic HD for iPad.

You launch the app and a slightly grubby man in overalls appears on screen with an oily cloth. He sucks air through his teeth and says "I can fix it, but it's not going to be cheap..." An in-app purchase then relieves you of several hundred pounds.

brambleschooks · 15/01/2011 19:32

Cool.

I have activated husband 1.0. Following an input of favourite cake, husband 1.0 took crapcar to friendlymechanic 3.7. Husband 1.0 downloaded some cash and is hoping for aquietnightin

DaftApeth · 15/01/2011 20:21

The iPad is a wonderful thing.

Was the husband 1.0 an expensive app? My dh wouldn't take my car to the garage so, I think, I should look into this app.

brambleschooks · 15/01/2011 20:50

My version is the old model which I have declined to upgrade. I rather like its quirks and features.
There are various versions out there with which you could interface. Why not go for one with plenty of RAM?

DaftApeth · 20/01/2011 13:54

Another serious question...... Do I need any anti virus software on the iPad. I have been blithely assuming not, but thought I should check!

MmeLindt · 20/01/2011 16:05

Daft
No, no anti-virus. I don't use it for stuff like home banking for this reason. Not sure how secure it really is.
