1. Can I turn off the auto correct thumbing gaaaaaaah SEE it won't let me type thing-umy.

2.is there any way of adding the apostrophe key onto the qwerty screen instead of having it in the .?123 screen. Blardy annoying having to dip in and out of screens to put a apostrophe in. Can I exchange it for one of the shift arrows? I only need one.

1. How do I scroll up and down in the mn message box. Can't work out how to move to the bottom or top of the text after I have previewed it.

1. Will I ever be able to stop playing Angry Birds?

IIRC, it was rumoured that the bluetooth connectivity of the iphone is deliberately crippled by Apple. Perhaps the ipad is the same.

That said, my apple bluetooth keyboard connects seamlessly with my ipad. [strokes keyboard] It has proper punctuation, cursor keys and everything (everything bar a key with £ on but that's entirely my fault)

iPhone - iPad connection was nobbled so that folk would not use their iPhone as a "modem", buy the cheaper wifi iPad and still be able to go online.

Perhaps it is the same with other phones?

OK next question. If I have ballard ( that was ballsed btw...WTF is a Ballard?) up a word and autocorrect has not come to my rescue I can't get the cursor into the middle of a word, just the end, so I have to delete the whole darned thing.

Any other top tips?

Android 2.3 allows a mobile to act as a wireless hot spot. YouTube video from the Google developers conference in May last year showed them using an iPad to connect to a website via Android phone internet connection, to order a film to be played on a Sony TV (running Android too)...

I just touch 'add a message' to get to the bottom of the page. Though if you use the add a message links on the right hand end of the name-bar, rather than the one above the title of the thread, the first touch just brings up the bookmark link(if you have bookmarking enabled) you have to touch it again to zip to the bottom. And of course, if you have pages it will take you to the end of the last page, which is just one reason I don't use pages.

You should be able to get the magnifying-thingy into the middle of a word, just drag your finger across once the 'bubble' is there - though if your finger goes even a tiny fraction above or below the line, it will jump to the previous/next line.

The auto correct is supposed to learn, so it probably depends on what you've typed before or which option you've chosen. It also uses stuff from your iPad's content, which is why if I type Amber it will capitalise it, because that's DD's name and she's in my contacts list.

To get to middle of word y just have to lovingly caress with finger until the little eyeglass comes up, then you can navigate to the middle.

I've just done that bramble, you are WAY behind in the tutorial mrs.

What does autofill mean, next to the previous and next buttons?

If you've enabled it and told it which info to use (in Settings-Safari-Autofill it will use your information to fill in stuff like addresses and passwords so you don't have to type it each time.

Is there any way of downloading my photos from facebook on to the IPad?

What is the best way to transfer photos from my camera/laptop onto the iPad?

Can I save photos received by email onto the iPad? With my laptop, I just save them to Picassa.

Ps. I love the holding finger on the shift key and swiping straight to my ? and ! keys. Fab!

I'm not sure if there's any way to bulk download photos from facebook, but if you want a single one, just touch it so the menu comes up and touch 'save image' - it goes to the saved images folder in your Photos app.

You can also do this with photos emailed to you.

You can sync photos from your laptop by choosing the Photos tab and checking the selected folders option and choosing all the folders of photos you want on your iPad (I have a special iPad/iPhone folder & put any single photos in there & then sync that plus any whole folders I want)

For getting photos from my camera, I have bought the camera connection kit (from the Apple online store) which has two adaptors, one for your camera cable and one for an SD card. But you need to be careful because since the ios4.2 update, apparently some cameras won't connect via the cable as they need too much power - the update changed the output from the docking port from 100mA to 20mA. This has annoyed quite a few people who bought 3rd party adaptors to run stuff like headphones or Compact Flash camera cards & they now don't work

Rusty, touching a photo on fb does not bring up a menu, just zooms in/out and gets rid of the writing.

I can take a 'snap' of it using the 'square' key and on/off button simultaneously.

I have all my photos stored in a little black box, is it called an external hard drive. It is small and rectangular. It has one of the whojimmywhatsist plugs on the end but I cannot find a hole to fit on my iPad.

I suppose that by just putting the box on the iPad overnight the photos won't transfer themselves by technology osmosis will they [hopeful]

DaftApeth- sorry, I should have said touch and hold- and you need to do it on the photo in the actual album, rather than one in a post on the wall, which is really just a link to the album.

Slubber, I'm not sure about the hard drive - it may be possible to tell iTunes to sync your photos from the external drive- I have moved all my music to another partition on my laptop drive and set it up to sync from there, but I can't exactly remember how.

I'd need to try it on my laptop, but it needs charging and DS has my power supply...

I will have a quick google to see if I can find the instructions.
