...water

This is a thread for supporting all young people post GCSEs 2020, regardless of their educational setting. It is respectfully requested that all are supportive and helpful to each other. If you want to start a debate, e.g state vs private, please don't within this thread. Please also be sensitive when responding to threads about grades. It's all relative!

Some of us have been here since first thread back in yr10, some will be new. Everyone has been friendly and helpful in the past. Everyone is welcome. It is hoped this will continue.

Our DS/DD may continue down various pathways ( employment, apprenticeships, higher ed) We have decided for anyone interested they will find a thread within the Further Ed board.

Possibly a move to Parent of Adult Children Board in future? Post Results?

Alsoplayspiccolo · 06/07/2022 19:06

Congratulations to the IBers - fantastic news!
(HoneyMobster , are you new to the thread, or a name change from previous threads? I think I must have missed you!)

Decorhate · 06/07/2022 19:21

@Horace123 @HoneyMobster Fabulous news! Well done to your Dc. I think this year’s cohort deserve extra praise with all they have had to put up with.

HoneyMobster · 06/07/2022 19:41

@Alsoplayspiccolo - name change. I am an old timer 😉

HarrietDVane · 06/07/2022 19:47

Delphigirl · 06/07/2022 19:47

Dragging myself up from my covid sickbed to say a hearty congratulations to @HoneyMobster and @Horace123 wonderful oxford news! Fantastic I am SO pleased!
now if someone could arrange for Johnson to fuck off before I have to go back to sleep again, that would be lovely 😁

Horace123 · 06/07/2022 19:58

Thank you all so much for the good wishes - we have had a lovely evening and DS off to see friends tonight.

@Delphigirl sorry you aren’t well - hopefully you’ll make a speedy recovery.

I’m going to spend the evening researching what happens to all the legislation currently making it’s way through Parliament because for stuff in committee stage I don’t think there are enough ministers left to pass anything. I should probably know this and no doubt covered it in law school but didn’t really foresee such an implosion … Soon Larry the cat will be the only one left.

So the committees are not quorate? Can Larry the Cat undertake Chair's Action? 🐈

Surely we are at that bit in The Crown when the Queen tells the PM to bugger orf?

Well done @Horace123 and @HoneyMobster , that is fantastic news. Let’s hope we are a lucky thread.
we have looked at clearing, to make sure we are fully ready if DS doesn’t get his grades as DS goes on holiday not long after results we don’t have a lot of time to sort him out.

EwwSprouts · 06/07/2022 21:26

@Horace123 and @HoneyMobster Wow fabulous news! 🍾

Decorhate · 06/07/2022 21:27

One thing with all the current political shenanigans- thankfully it didn’t happen before the A Levels or Ds would have had to rewrite all his Politics essays Grin

NCTDN · 06/07/2022 21:29

Amazing for the IBs ! Must be great to now have so much time before uni to get sorted.

Isthisjustnormal · 06/07/2022 21:37

Monkey2001 · 06/07/2022 22:58

Haha @Zebracat is this all caused by you hoping for a nice political crisis when you blew out the candles on your cake?! Happy birthday, enjoy the show!

ealingwestmum · 06/07/2022 23:26

@Horace123 I tried to attach a meme about Larry the cat leaving no 10 but it didn't work - I think he left yesterday morning!
