@PaddingtonPaddington try www.ticketysplit.co.uk/

Nard75 · 20/08/2021 21:26

It allowed us to book the second vaccine in 8 weeks which is middle of October. DS1 is a February birthday don't know whether that makes any difference and we are in the West Midlands.

Zandathepanda · 20/08/2021 21:32

Dd sent me this link to a graph about covid and boardmasters!

mummabear74 · 20/08/2021 21:56

@Nard75 that's good. DD's 17th birthday was yesterday and we are SE.

Monkey2001 · 20/08/2021 22:59

I just booked second appointment for DS too.

If you go to www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ and choose "book my appointments" and use NHS number for next stage it offers you a date 8 weeks after the first one, so I went for it.

He is an April birthday, so in theory would not get second one until January, so it is about 11 weeks early.

crazycrofter · 20/08/2021 23:02

Dd (June birthday) got her letter yesterday. I haven’t done anything about it as she’s away on a camp til tomorrow, then off to stay with friends Mon-Thur, Reading on Friday and our family holiday Sat-Sat. She’ll have to wait until she’s back at school I think.

icanbewhatiwant · 21/08/2021 09:46

I still can't book on the app even though Ds will be 18 in November. I will try to get him to a walk in centre over the weekend. He's asleep now. He is going to watch a football match this afternoon. I have told him I want him to have it this weekend. But if I could book an appointment it would mean he'd have to go. Ds2 can never be bothered with anything. He had the whole week at home while we were on holiday...he said he'd do school work. But he told me last night he's got lots of school work still to do and hasn't bothered to start his EPQ I asked when he's going to start, he said he isn't going to do it now. He's still got his job mon-weds each week. Then just sleeps all day the other days (apart from the odd driving lesson) then he's on his Xbox all evening shouting to his mates. Me nagging will only make it worse. So I can only leave him to it.

Fferny1 · 21/08/2021 10:56

I took Ds to a drop in clinic after his driving lesson. There was no queue and I think I was the only Mum there initially😁. But then I left him to it.
He starts school on the 1st, so I wanted it done 2 weeks before, as it takes that long for the antibodies to develop.

The next health hurdle is two teeth removing for his orthodontic treatment on Monday.
I don't think I can bear to watch that after seeing it with dd2 😢

Alsoplayspiccolo · 21/08/2021 11:05

DD got her positive PCR result back, so got a call from track and trace. The chap guessed that she’d contracted it at Boardmasters, and said that’s what he’d spent his whole week dealing with 😩
He asked a lot of questions about their LFT checking; apparently, there was no mobile signal, so tests couldn’t be logged online and people were showing other people’s negative tests to get into the main arena. 😡

We then got a call, requiring us to go for PCR tests within 24 hours, which we did last night - all negative, thankfully, but we have to retest again on Friday.
DD is feeling much worse today, with shortness of breath.
crazy, just to say, DD had had her first vacc 2 weeks before she went to Boardmasters and is pretty sure she didn’t pick it up from the friends she shared a tent with (none of them have tested positive), which suggests she got it from brief close contact with a stranger(s), which is worrying.

Fferny1 · 21/08/2021 11:12

@alwaysplayspiccolo could your DD have been infected via the toilets?
There's a thread on twitter about possible infection routes - vaping, snogging, Mosh pit etc.

Alsoplayspiccolo · 21/08/2021 11:15

Well, from what she said about the toilets, that’s a strong possibility 🤢

whoamitojudge · 21/08/2021 11:32

@icanbewhatiwant
Congratulations to your DS

Monkey2001 · 21/08/2021 11:52

@Alsoplayspiccolo sorry to hear about positive result. My niece said they badly glanced at test results. 3 of her friends have now tested positive, but all confident they were negative when they arrived. Seems to me that at least 50% of the people who attended E bit positive! I think there are various public health enquiries now, hope some lessons are learned for Reading and Leeds.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 21/08/2021 12:04

@Alsoplayspiccolo sorry to hear about your DD, I hope she doesn’t feel too unwell with it. I’m hearing lots of cases round here at the moment including double vaccinated people which is a bit worrying. No one is very unwell mainly a bit fluey but Ok after a couple of days.

KingscoteStaff · 21/08/2021 12:08

DD (18 in 22 days!) had first jab today and 2nd one booked in - before half term 'just in case anyone invites me to go abroad'... No idea who these imaginary people are, but I hope they invite me too!

Zandathepanda · 21/08/2021 12:09

Alsoplayspiccolo I think the crazy thing is the others didn’t pick it up when they were all in the same tent! I can’t imagine a more infectious confined space. Maybe they unknowingly have had it before. Or they are false negatives and asymptomatic? Or she picked it up right at the very end?

DD’s asthmatic friend slept in a double bed in 1 bed flat with her boyfriend all through his covid infection and recovery. She didn’t get it. She got it later from a family member. Weird.

Re toilets. Apparently there’s lots of clips doing the rounds that Dd1 is gagging at! I remember a ‘Beautiful Days’ (!) festival with Dd2 toddling but still in nappies so 2006? Torrential rain for a couple of hours and the mud went over her wellies. The toilet walls were lined in all sorts up to about 4ft. Visited them twice then decided plastic bags and a saucepan in the tent was safer. Grim. That was my last ever camping festival. Luckily it didn’t put my oldest off as she’s done Leeds and others and had a great time but she said those boardmaster toilet clips she’s seen were something else!

Piggywaspushed · 21/08/2021 12:44

Hi guys. I'm in hospital again. So angry at the World right now. This means I will miss Bath. Gutted.

Alsoplayspiccolo · 21/08/2021 12:49

Zanda, I've seen posts on Boardmasters social media from parents who were forced to collect their DC early because the toilets were completely unusable. It's ironic if the public health people are looking at how tests were checked, but not looking at how basic sanitation was provided (or rather, wasnt!).

One of the other girls in DD's tent has been double jabbed. She's exhausted and has a headache but negative LFTs. The other 2 have been single jabbed and have no symptoms and negative PCRs, and they all spent 9 hours on a packed coach to get home.

DD spent 2 nights camping on DS's bedroom floor next to his bed when she got home, before we realised she had covid.

Apparently, the chances of being infected by someone you live with are only 12%, which is surprisingly low. I guess it's just a matter of luck.

Alsoplayspiccolo · 21/08/2021 12:50

Oh no, Piggy! Poor you!
Get well very soon. Flowers

Fiddlersgreen · 21/08/2021 12:55

Oh @Piggywaspushed I’m so sorry to hear this! I hope you don’t have to stay in too long.
Get well soon! Flowers

Oblomov21 · 21/08/2021 13:00

Oh dear Piggy. Thanks
What a pisser!

Zandathepanda · 21/08/2021 13:05

Piggy you poor thing! Forget about Bath - it’s not going anywhere - loads of time to see it when you’re better.
Concentrate on you and please don’t go back to school until you are stronger.

Piccolo it does seem to be a question of luckiness/unluckiness with viruses which we have unfortunately experienced with Dd. From my Uni DD’s experience, if they are not showing symptoms after day 5 they are unlikely to have it. Hope your Dd is over the worse and better very soon.

Fferny1 · 21/08/2021 13:24

God @piggy that's rotten luck. I hope you recover soon 💐.

@Piccolo, some individuals with Covid don't test positive for ages. This even happened with some severely affected individuals in the first wave and in hospital.

AndwhenyougetthereFoffsomemore · 21/08/2021 13:35

So sorry to hear you’re feeling worse again @Piggywaspushed; and your dd’s positive test @Alsoplayspiccolo. :-( keep us informed on how you get on. We are currently en route to Bristol as an en route pit stop down to devon hols. Any recommendations for places to visit?? We might do bath on the way back as we had to miss our booked overnight too - won’t be quite the same but better than nothing….
