I've got the following on my record (to tell social worker):-

-verbal harassment conviction against an adult neighbour expired
-6 defaults against banks, never been bankrupt
-Unstable employment history due to health and caring responsibilities mainley been on benefits last 5 years. Employed for 1 year.
-Previous dispute against social services claiming i refuse to engage in services. Now case closed.
-Diagnosed with tinnitus - minor issue/managable
-No contact details of ex/got divorce certificate
-Income of £400 per month cash in hand
-Savings of £15,040 and some spare change
-Currently giving 25 hours care per week to an autistic individual cash in hand.

Any point in applying?

The conviction was by a sheriff court not a high court, which I understand are for serious cases, a summary case it was it was a breach of the peace order, which everyone has especially football fans/ex partners. What do you mean how repentant you are? How you supposed to measure that as everyone views anyone with a conviction as a life long thug they never look at the time you spent adhering to the law or reoffending means nothing. Regarding social services they are not engaging with me. They closed my case down without informing me just like closing down your bank account and taking all your money and then telling the complaints department/ombudsman that there was no account or money and client is not answering calls or letters. I went to Nicola Sturgon but not even she could do anything to defend me and I look like the clown they made me out to be.

With regards to fostering, I’m questioning your motives

Chewingle · 12/03/2021 17:22

@YoBeaches

Well, the point is that it's not for you to decide whether you do or don't 'pay enough tax already'. You fill out the forms and let them tell you, then pay the bill.

So based on that alone, I'm not sure you're mature enough to enter the complex world of foster care, back history aside.that also doesn't shine you in a very good light.

What's your motivation and what can you offer a child in need?

Check our previous thread of then OP

She says she’s heard foster carers can earn “in excess of £50k”

Essentially the op has seen some £ signs

braveheart2020 · 12/03/2021 17:23

Autistic people can think for themselves you know.

Everyone had breach of the peach orders Confused

Motnight · 12/03/2021 17:24

Why do you want to foster, Op?

MazekeenSmith · 12/03/2021 17:24

@braveheart2020

I pay enough tax through buying products the government secretly tax every product without informing buyers. Just like VAT.
Your cavalier attitude towards the law will probably exclude you from a fostering assessment, sorry

You have banged a nerve here.

What is the context?

'Autistic people' are not a group of clones btw.

Motnight · 12/03/2021 17:25

I think that this is a piss take.

I desperately hope you don't get to foster, sorry but your motives seem questionable.
The fact that you claim to not understand how tax works is worrying too.

For context, I'm considering fostering and asked on here about a week ago if I'd be suitable.
I've worked in education for 30 years, have no convictions, multiple qualifications related to early years, behaviour management etc and I was concerned I was too old but your list is waaaay more concerning!!

LIZS · 12/03/2021 17:27

And what else could you bring to a vulnerable child or young person? You seem very detached from the reality of caring for a foster child. A police record and dubious financial arrangements certainly will not help. Do you have a secure home and good health? Often the allowance barely covers the costs, it is not lucrative.

CovidKingfisher · 12/03/2021 17:28

It's a no from me!

LaceyBetty · 12/03/2021 17:29

it was it was a breach of the peace order, which everyone has

This is an amazing statement. The vast majority of people in this country do not have a breach of peace order. Sorry OP, but I'm not sure I would bother starting the process if I were you.

braveheart2020 · 12/03/2021 17:29

I will do it sometime when i can pass the checks.

Remember the world against me when I had a conviction was like i committed murder when mentioning it to employers.

When I showed a court document to confirm the expiry date of a conviction they didnt believe convictions ever expire which they do then allowed me into a company. People know nothing about you and they jump to conclusions quickly.

Is this a sock puppet name change fail?
CovidKingfisher · 12/03/2021 17:30

@braveheart2020

I know plenty of taxi drivers and none of them pay tax thats why they do it.

😳

activitythree · 12/03/2021 17:32

You will not 'pass' anything to be a foster carer.

Maybe buy a lottery ticket instead

sesquipedalia · 12/03/2021 17:32

This has to be a wind up...

ReggieCat · 12/03/2021 17:32

I worked in foster carer recruitment.

No agency would touch you with a bargepole!

braveheart2020 · 12/03/2021 17:32

its not about the money.

Yes wth? Asking yourself questions, OP? 🧐

braveheart2020 · 12/03/2021 17:33

I'm already a carer for 4 people does that disqualify me from being a foster carer?

OP posts:
braveheart2020 · 12/03/2021 17:34

Your wrong
