Agree it has to be Longley Farm

I’ve never got fancier than a spoon directly from the pot.

ilovesooty · 11/02/2026 22:57

My smaller cat is extremely partial to LF cottage cheese. He has to have his own spoonful. I offered him fat free cottage cheese once and he was disgusted.

Flamingosarentreal · 11/02/2026 22:58

Can only buy it in iceland stores near me. i take a cool bag and iceblocks and stock up on it and the yogurts when I am in Yorkshire. i love it with homemade onion chutney in a greek flabread - if I haven't eaten it all straight out of the tub before hand

Same here, or with cherry tomatoes. Currently Asda have it back in and Iceland have it.

Thanks for the info

It’s baby sick when warmed up and thrush when it isn’t.

disgusting stuff.

😂😂😂

As an overweight vegetarian it would be useful for me to like it.
Rather than the extra mature cheddar

But my god. Vile stuff, I am yett to find a way to make it palatable. It is the cheese version of marmite.
Even the look of it makes me feel 🤢

Come up North - I live about 15 miles from Longley Farm and you can get their products everywhere round here 😋(smug).

I just googled it - never occurred to me before. Do they have a shop or is click and collect only?

I love mine with black coffee for breakfast or with buttered homemade bread and avocado for lunch.
I also go without if proper (fat) LF is not available, never tried the ones with pineapple or chives as it feels like treason.

namechangeabc123 · 11/02/2026 23:22

I like it in a jacket potato, or on dark rye bread with smoked salmon.

centaury · 11/02/2026 23:55

I only have it sweet sprinkled with brown sugar (lazy dessert) or with chopped banana (post-run snack.) Will pinch some of these savoury ideas.

Why do people like Longley Farm so much? I've been buying Morrison's or Waitrose's own as they're the lowest salt ones I could find. Have never tried it but LF apparently has even more salt than Lidl's own brand which imo already has too much.

pompomtiddly · 12/02/2026 02:31

I nominate a different family member each week to eat mine for me…

Variations on this are doing the rounds of high protein, strength training etc social media. The resulting bread is very good!

I live about 8 miles from LF. Their products are all over the local shops. Friend of mine buys trays at a time - her DH eats a pot for lunch every day.

Allschoolsareartschools · 12/02/2026 13:20

On crackers with salt & white pepper. A few green olives on the side. Perfect quick lunch.

JulesJules · 12/02/2026 18:10

DH tried to have LF on toast for breakfast, he stepped away for a moment to get his coffee... our cat seized the opportunity and took the whole lot. He clearly has excellent taste

loveyouradvice · 12/02/2026 19:47

Yum... love the stuff

One of my favourite puds... defrosted, or even better warm, berries (Waitrose smoothie mix blackcurrant, raspberry, banana is perfect!) over the top - with a sprinkling of muesli or salted pistachios or roast almonds....

Obviously my little Tennyson has a partner in crime!

On a toasted English muffin, spread with raspberry or strawberry jam (Bonne maman works well here) topped with Longley Farm cottage cheese. It’s like a macro friendly afternoon tea!

Favouritefruits · 12/02/2026 22:08

With pineapple in a overcooked crisp pitta bread 🤤

Ukholidaysaregreat · 12/02/2026 22:15

I bloody LOVE Longley Farm pineapple cottage cheese. Happy to just eat the tub. Can make a sandwich by tipping the tub out on bread. Thank me later. It's like MasterChef.

evtheria · 12/02/2026 22:18

Sorry - it’s got to be Piatnica, from the polish chiller in Tesco (though saw it in Lidl other week). I eat it straight from the tub, as is, and with a massive amount of restraint because I want to eat another right after. LF’s is good but this stuff is tasty.

Edit: for those struggling to find LF, my local Spar sells the plain and the chive (I think) ones. I live in the NW, if that may influence why they do. But not sure where to get all the yoghurts from anymore, though!

tipsyraven · 12/02/2026 22:23

On rye bread with avocado and chilli jam, which was my lunch today.

Kaleidystopia · 12/02/2026 23:58

Mixed with chopped apple, sauerkraut, jalapenos, black pepper and some chipotle chilli flakes. Maybe with some fancy crackers or oatcakes on the side to scoop it out of the bowl. My favourite breakfast.

That does sound good actually!

Snoozysuz · 13/02/2026 20:28

On a slice of nice bread toasted with fresh tomatoes and some fresh basil if I have it. Some salt and pepper. Caprese vibes and delicious!

twilightcafe · 13/02/2026 20:39

This stuff from Sainsbury's is heaven in a tub. Thick and creamy with proper chunks of mango.
