I like it straight from the tub.

Or with peppery watercress.

Just on the plate alongside salad or good bread.

I don’t mess with it.

I could easily eat the whole tub.

Which kind of defeats its main USP.

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/02/2026 21:27

With chopped boiled eggs & jalapeño.

add to soups.

Just eat it itself.

PinkJ · 11/02/2026 21:27

Controversial but Lidl's full fat with dark blue lid is almost as good as LF, closest I've found!

Mumof2wifeof1crazytimes · 11/02/2026 21:36

On a jacket potato with pickled beetroot.

justasking111 · 11/02/2026 21:37

Heinz salad cream stirred in. On ryvita

stripeymonster · 11/02/2026 21:47

With Bold bean chickpeas, black pepper, lemon juice, maybe tomatoes and cucumber.

Sainsburys All Things Cottage Cheese and Alter Ego cottage cheese are really good. I agree Grahams is not.

Nosejobnelly · 11/02/2026 21:48

Mashed w avocado on a spud.

YourWinter · 11/02/2026 21:49

Dollops on a Ryvita thin, with mango chutney or sweet chilli sauce.

Even the dogs have Longley Farm, nothing else comes close.

GenerousGardener · 11/02/2026 21:51

I bought some All Things Cottage Cheese with mixed berries. I’ve yet to try it but it has good reviews. Maybe breakfast tomorrow?

YourWinter · 11/02/2026 21:53

On wholemeal toast or straight out of the tub. Which supermarkets stock Longley, my local Tesco doesn't

Morrisons (though often only the pineapple one on the shelf), Waitrose (though often only their own brand on the shelf, which is wet, tasteless and repulsive), Asda (though rarely in stock), Iceland (though I never shop there). Also Ocado.

When it’s in stock in Morrisons I buy four tubs.

likelysuspect · 11/02/2026 21:54

I find it keeps much longer than the use by date

I need to try!
Would it go with peanut butter?

Mix it with peanut butter and then put dried cranberries (or raisins -yuk) and eat it on toast. I know it sounds bonkers but it is really good!

likelysuspect · 11/02/2026 21:04

It used to be in my local Home Bargains, not any more

Used to be in my local Asda, not any more

Found it by surprise in some tiny deli this week. Probably wont be there next week

Come up North - I live about 15 miles from Longley Farm and you can get their products everywhere round here 😋(smug).

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 11/02/2026 21:57

I had the full fat LF today on a kallo corn cake with m&s Korean coleslaw (which comes with chilli oil for drizzling) and some fresh tomatoes. And salt.

HayStrawGrass · 11/02/2026 21:59

With chips, salad and coleslaw. Yum

KeepOffTheQuinoa · 11/02/2026 22:02

I like it on dark rye bread or pumpernickel.

Naming no names but some of you on this thread are heathens and savages.

Songlines · 11/02/2026 22:02

To add...
Has to be LF full fat, I've given up trying alternatives. Haven't been able to get it locally for ages (SW) but local M&S food hall has just started stocking it. Went in yesterday and totally out of stock! Brutal

daffodilandtulip · 11/02/2026 22:04

In a soft pitta, with tomato purée spread inside, done in the panini press.

Above also works with a mini wrap folded in half. Add chorizo.

One egg, one dollop of cottage cheese, whisked and in muffin cases for breakfast. Add ham/tomato/whatever for lunch ones.

Jacket potato.

Okiedokie123 · 11/02/2026 22:05

I love cottage cheese. I had it with pineapple (tinned) and blueberries (frozen - warmed in the microwave) with Kallo blueberry rice cakes for lunch today. Yum

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 11/02/2026 22:09

On rye ryvita or in a salad or on a jacket potato. Sainsbos cottage cheese is fine for me.

Froglady99 · 11/02/2026 22:09

Bake a sweet potato, mix cottage cheese with some paprika. Put back into sweet potato and place in oven for 10 mins. Sprinkle with chopped spring onions. Yum!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 11/02/2026 22:13

likelysuspect · 11/02/2026 21:26

No liquid in LF

My favourite way when I eat a bit of bread, which isnt very often, is very hot toast, slathered in butter, cottage cheese on top and then salt.

Lots of butter.

If you’re dieting which is the only reason to eat cottage cheese then with lots of butter defeats the purpose.

FredaMountfitchet · 11/02/2026 22:15

Only eat the pineapple version .
Scooped out with oatcakes

Cottage cheese is not a diet food any more than an apple is or a slice of ham.

Agreed.

I have a big dollop mixed in with 2 eggs for scrambled eggs on toast.
