And by which I mean Longley Farm.

For there is no other

Dont be soiling the thread talking about other brands

Ive just had a dollop with sweet chilli sauce on top

Then I had another dollop with jam

Im hoping its going to keep me off the chocolate

I scoop it up with chocolate digestives.

mac111 · 11/02/2026 20:54

Spread on sourdough toast with roasted tomatoes and some balsamic

BellaEllaWella · 11/02/2026 20:56

In a bowl with kimchi mixed in

I need to try!
Would it go with peanut butter?

Oh yes.. but you need Marmite ( or bit of salt) and a some crunch ... If not celery, then apple or red pepper.. definitely always lettuce

This looks amazing. Definitiely going to try that but wont waste my LF on that

On a corncake with Devon Fire Chutney

Bruisername · 11/02/2026 20:57

I prefer quark as can’t bear the texture of cottage cheese

Small dollop( like 2 dessert spoons) in bowl with a few blueberries.. Oh yes,.... but we have Grahams here as no LF available (but full fat definitely)

Having not found my LF for ages I succumbed to Grahams as I'd read about it on here.

AWFUL

Was so disappointed.

I actually threw half of it away and I never throw food away

It’s baby sick when warmed up and thrush when it isn’t.

disgusting stuff.

Daft answer

caffelattetogo · 11/02/2026 21:01

Agree that only LF is acceptable. No idea how they make it so good.

Im of the opinion that they've sort of scammed us and we are in fact eating clotted cream with lumps in. It tastes like that, so creamy and gorgeous.

I'll use the Grahams for the bread upthread, looking forward to trying that.

On wholemeal toast or straight out of the tub. Which supermarkets stock Longley, my local Tesco doesn't

It used to be in my local Home Bargains, not any more

Used to be in my local Asda, not any more

Found it by surprise in some tiny deli this week. Probably wont be there next week

I beg to differ, i always buy a polish brand, something like "pianica". Best kind, no question. Yummy with a bit of mayonnaise, or sweet with cherry jam.

RosesAndHellebores · 11/02/2026 21:06

I like to fill the hollow in half a galia or ogen melon with it.

😮ive obviously never have had the real stuff then! ( But I've been eating and loving cottage cheese for years ) ...

Bowling4soup · 11/02/2026 21:10

I had it as a dip today with Doritos (longley farm used to be my only choice too but the new Philadelphia protein one is v v similar and nice imo)

I think I saw this on the fateful day that I bought the Grahams

I will try this on your recommendation....

Either on ryvita or whole grain toast, a (thick) layer of Marmite, a thick layer of cottage cheese topped with sliced vine tomatoes and a good grind of black pepper.

In a rocket salad with sweet chilli sauce or a dollop of Laogonma.

TheChosenTwo · 11/02/2026 21:15

I was holding off trying it until I could get LF, 2 weeks in and 2 big tubs later I can say I really like it!
either smushed on some sourdough which I grill then bung on some salt and rub garlic on first, top with tomatoes, balsamic and some basil.
Or today I made myself a sort of LF salad, just a few spoons mixed with Kalamata olives, tomatoes, cucumber and again basil and balsamic. Just tastes very fresh and light.
TBH I’m funny about textures but this is really creamy and inoffensive, I actually thought I’d hate it so I’ve been pleasantly surprised!

nondrinker1985 · 11/02/2026 21:16

Straight out of the tub - into a smoothies sometimes - I try to suck off the liquid so the little bits are left sometimes

Justinemum · 11/02/2026 21:20

Ooh ooh ! Can’t believe no ones mentioned on toast with tomatoes and cheese melted on top and lots of pepper. Seriously yum!

PickledElectricity · 11/02/2026 21:23

Crikeyalmighty · 11/02/2026 20:26

I like it rolled up inside ham - the chive one works best, so I make long nitrate free ham and cottage cheese cigar shaped rolls

I've never had any of the flavoured ones but you've inspired me to think about thinking about trying this.

Liquid?
Longley Farm has liquid?????
Lidl , Tesco, every other brand is wet and sloppy, but no, Longley Farm is firm and dense and almost crumbly!

likelysuspect · 11/02/2026 21:26

No liquid in LF

My favourite way when I eat a bit of bread, which isnt very often, is very hot toast, slathered in butter, cottage cheese on top and then salt.

Lots of butter.
