Which mince pie team are you: cream, ice cream or custard?

I'm normally team custard, but have enjoyed them with ice cream, though it's a strong contrast since I always heat my mince pies.

I have a friend who dunks them, cold, in her tea, which I haven't yet tried.

Team custard all the way

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 19/11/2025 10:27

Cream and custard if i could but both give me a bad tummy!

OhDonuts · 19/11/2025 10:28

I can’t pick between warm custard and boozy cream!
I think I sway more towards boozy cream.

CharlotteLightandDark · 19/11/2025 10:29

heated up with double cream or even better brandy cream 😋

Beamur · 19/11/2025 10:29

Cream, although hot with custard also good. No to ice cream.

BootMaker · 19/11/2025 10:30

Clotted or very thick cream.

Custard or ice-cream? Madness.

thursday22august · 19/11/2025 10:30

Custard or clotted cream

whatdoidonowffs · 19/11/2025 10:31

Take the top off spoon of clotted cream top back on heaven !!!

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 19/11/2025 10:31

Brandy butter 😄

BootMaker · 19/11/2025 10:31

Anyway, it's not December yet so put the mince pies down!

Garamousalata · 19/11/2025 10:33

I like them straight from the oven, without anything added.

BaronessBomburst · 19/11/2025 10:33

Cream or brandy butter.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/11/2025 10:34

None, because mince pies are disgusting <unhelpful>

If I had to eat one, extra thick cream

Heh, I've only had six so far this month! But I must admit there'll be another six purchased this week.

I have made them myself in the past and might do a special batch for the actual Christmas eating.

I prefer to eat my mince pies naked.

SeaAndStars · 19/11/2025 10:35

Just on their own. Eaten as a picnic during a walk in the woods.

purplecorkheart · 19/11/2025 10:35

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 19/11/2025 10:31

Brandy butter 😄

This.

Not a fan of cream. Never actually had ice- cream with a mince pay. Custard is ok but would not be my choice with a mince pay.

Honeypickle · 19/11/2025 10:39

Hot mince pie - ice cream
cold mince pie - custard

Fridayismyfunday · 19/11/2025 10:42

Mince pies have to be warm, with cream and/ or brandy butter.

BeanQuisine · 19/11/2025 10:47

Yes, I should have included brandy butter in the options.

Though it's possibly a bit too special for November mince pies. 😋

I've never heard of eating a mince pie with any of those accompaniments. We either eat on its own or with cheese. But hot with brandy butter sounds fab

Chemenger · 19/11/2025 10:53

Garamousalata · 19/11/2025 10:33

Me too but I would have custard with a puff pastry mince pie.

skippy67 · 19/11/2025 10:53

Cream or ice cream. Custard is horrible!

Mincepietastic · 19/11/2025 10:53

Custard is wrong.

Cream, always.

Jugendstiel · 19/11/2025 10:55

Neat. No sauce on mince pies. With Christmas pudding I like Greek yoghurt - the slight sourness cuts through the richness but usually have custard as that is what the family prefer. DH and DS1 (adult) love brandy butter with mince pies and Christmas pudding.
