Which mince pie team are you: cream, ice cream or custard?

I'm normally team custard, but have enjoyed them with ice cream, though it's a strong contrast since I always heat my mince pies.

I have a friend who dunks them, cold, in her tea, which I haven't yet tried.

Please don't talk about November mince pies. I absolutely can't start eating them now!

What sort of sicko puts anything on their mince pie? What sort of world do we live in?! They are perfect as they are.

Thank goodness you said this. Me too. Hot mince pie with cold brandy butter, with ideally the brandy butter in the same quantity as the mince pie.

Eh? Mince pies are eaten on their own. I like all those things but they don't go with mince pies.

Cold on their own, warm with cream or perhaps custard.
Never ice cream, which would totally ruin both the ice cream and particularly the pastry!!!
I blame restaurants who love serving ice cream with stuff as it keeps forever!

Thick cream, not boozy, for preference, on a hot mince pie. Cold, just as it is. Custard only if it's fallen into the bowl along with some Xmas pudding. Not tried them with ice cream yet.

Also I never buy them- I don't like the claggy pastry they're made with. I make them with a simple shortcrust pastry, so they're light and easy to eat (which is also why I don't make them until December, because I'd eat them all the time.)

Cream but specifically brandy spiked cream. Otherwise no thank you!

I've also been told I should try it with a wedge of cheese so will give that a go this year.

Hear me out on this one... warm the mince pie, take the lid off, pop in a bit of stilton, put lid back on and enjoy.
