Which mince pie team are you: cream, ice cream or custard?

I'm normally team custard, but have enjoyed them with ice cream, though it's a strong contrast since I always heat my mince pies.

I have a friend who dunks them, cold, in her tea, which I haven't yet tried.

Soft blue cheese spread on top, delicious!

Hear me out on this one... warm the mince pie, take the lid off, pop in a bit of stilton, put lid back on and enjoy.

It sounds so wrong yet so right.

Another one for team custard.

However, I might freeze some mince pies when they’re on offer and mash them up into some vanilla ice cream for the summer 😋.

If you like quince jelly / fig jam, etc with your blue cheese then this is definitely one to try.

ManyATrueWord · 19/11/2025 12:13

What filth is this? Brandy butter is compulsory!

Whyjustwhy83 · 19/11/2025 12:14

Alcohol laced cream, I'm not a big drinker so enough on for me to be tipsy lol. I'm pregnant this Christmas so won't be bothering with mince pies at all this year.

Maybeishouldcrochet · 19/11/2025 12:16

They are nice crumbled into an ice-cream sundae.... Especially with cinnamon ice-cream!!
If on there own a bit of cream (plant based for the dairy intolerant)

HeadyLamarr · 19/11/2025 12:19

Warm with thick double cream or room temperature on their own.

MotherofPearl · 19/11/2025 16:30

I am willing to give the Stilton variation a go. This thread has made me really look forward to mince pie season.

Nuggethug · 19/11/2025 16:47

Brandy butter and clotted cream!

I absolutely love all the jams and chutneys with blue cheeses so I am so on it! Thankyou 🤤

Unadorned. And not until Advent which this year is an early one starting in November.

EmeraldDreams73 · 19/11/2025 17:21

Boozy Christmas cream every time for me!

CoastalCalm · 19/11/2025 17:22

I just have them unadulterated , had my first one today actually , and my second , third scheduled for supper

PeanutbutterPickle · 19/11/2025 17:23

Baileys cream for me

Wigtopia · 19/11/2025 17:23

Mince pie warmed in the oven, nothing else required! 🤩🤩

MoonBugs · 19/11/2025 17:26

First choice is a warm mince pie with brandy butter. If brandy butter isnt an option then custard, I really dislike cream.

notatinydancer · 19/11/2025 17:27

Brandy cream

Lostuser · 19/11/2025 17:27

Personally, I think mince pies should be eaten just as they come. However, Christmas pudding should come with those extras, preferably custard or brandy cream.

ProfRedLorryYellowLorry · 19/11/2025 17:29

Hard sauce. Slightly melted on the hot mince pie. Yum! 🌲

TomatoSandwiches · 19/11/2025 17:41

Does no one have them with evaporated milk?

foodyum · 19/11/2025 17:52

Homemade brandy butter the best hands down, failing that I'll take shop brought brandy butter or cream (preferably baileys cream)

muddyford · 19/11/2025 17:58

Warm the mince pie, pry up the lid, put in a dollop of clotted cream, replace lid and eat with care.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 19/11/2025 17:59

What?! None of the above. Brandy butter, obviously.

Definitely not.
