With lasagne I would serve…

Family over later. I’ve made a lasagne which I’m sure is big enough but I’m a feeder & like to know everyone has been well fed so now I’m not so sure there’s enough of it!
Any suggestions as to what else I can put on the table so everyone leaves feeling full? I’ve got the usual salad and garlic bread.

Thank you

It's 8 hours since I read that people actually serve peas and jacket potatoes with lasagne and I'm still feeling raw and traumatised.

Bonkers. It only makes sense if the lasagne portion is teeny and stingy... just make enough lasagne!

Garlic bread and salad or peas

@TomTraubertsBlues but even if it's Scrooge portions of lasagne, peas and carrots would be wayyyyy down the list of what I would serve it with.

I am veggie, so my lasagne filling contains carrots, celery and lentils etc (basically a lentil ragu with veg). Can't imagine having them on the side though!

Booked or roasted new potatoes with a sprinkling of chilli flakes n herbs...

Lasagne and rice???

I'm done 😂😂

Honestly, it goes well. When we've been to our local Greek I've had mousakka and rice which is similar to lasagne.

WeAreTheHeroes · 06/11/2022 19:02

I can only think serving moussaka with rice is an adaptation for Brits. At least moussaka doesn't contain pasta.

What savagery is this?

For those foaming over hot salad.you need to try sauteed baby gem👌

PickAChew · 06/11/2022 22:37

I love salad leaves with hot food. I sometimes wilt the arse end of a bag of leaves into a soup, pasta sauce or curry, just as you would baby spinach.

Rice?
mash?

What madness!

I agree. Just make your lasagne big enough people!

If you are having to top it up with random carbs, your lasagne is too small for the number of people you're cooking for. It's not a side dish, it's a main meal.

I can't even wrap my head around serving chips or a jacket potato with lasagne.

Garlic bread and a lovely salad is more than enough.

Precisely. I don't serve stingy portions when I make it, which is why I only serve salad with it.

BarrelOfOtters · 07/11/2022 09:49

But I like a chip with my lasagna. It's not about enough food - I just like it. And a chip with a pizza. I don't do it often as I'm fat enough as it is.

RampantIvy · 07/11/2022 13:31

I like lasagne and pizza more than chips Grin

Nothing
Salad
