With lasagne I would serve…

Family over later. I’ve made a lasagne which I’m sure is big enough but I’m a feeder & like to know everyone has been well fed so now I’m not so sure there’s enough of it!
Any suggestions as to what else I can put on the table so everyone leaves feeling full? I’ve got the usual salad and garlic bread.

Thank you

Coleslaw + potato wedges 😋 people can have a little of every thing

Mrstumbletap · 06/11/2022 08:49

Coleslaw and a bowl of chips if you want to ensure no one is hungry.

maryberryslayers · 06/11/2022 08:50

Chips, salad, garlic bread.

Bananaramad · 06/11/2022 08:51

As well as salad and garlic bread, not instead .

TheFlis12345 · 06/11/2022 08:52

I would do garlic bread, a green salad and a tomato and onion or tomato and mozzarella salad.

CuriousCatfish · 06/11/2022 08:52

I'd probably do a bowl of potato wedges too.

Witsendwilly · 06/11/2022 08:52

If you went to a buffet at a pub or somewhere and look around at what people had taken, surely most have chips/wedges with lasagne?

obviously not if the option isn’t there, but people I know would be expecting the option.

Obviously in the minority according to the replies, but chips are always the first thing to run out in my experience

Traisonthewine78 · 06/11/2022 08:54

Chips, garlic bread and salad here. Because two types of carbs isn't enough.

Isthatmcormac · 06/11/2022 08:55

And now I’m starving and craving lasagne before 9am @maldivemoment 🤣 thanks!!

Salad and garlic bread is perfect IMO 👍🏻 DH would want chips but I swear he’d order a side of chips for his side of chips if he could 🙄😂

Bit of cold cucumber on the fork along with a bit of lasagne 🤤🤤🤤 perfection 🤤

A nice dessert now and you’re golden

MrsClatterbuck · 06/11/2022 08:57

I love just salad and coleslaw with mine. Dh has beans or sweetcorn with his. Though I sometimes do garlic bread for dh but I find that is too much carbs for me except when we are eating out love chips with my lasagne

hashbrownsandwich · 06/11/2022 08:58

The thought of peas, beans or jacket potatoes with lasagne is stuff of nightmares!!!

Fridaysgirl17 · 06/11/2022 09:02

For us we always do a few chips, chunky chips, but that's it maybe some coleslaw too.

Proamble · 06/11/2022 09:03

Salad as a starter, then just the lasagne on its own. Chips with lasagne?!!! I’ve never heard of chips and pasta together, that sounds disgusting.

CuriousCatfish · 06/11/2022 09:04

Dipping chips into Lasagna is amazing. Give it a try.

SallyWD · 06/11/2022 09:05

I think garlic bread and salad is perfect. Lasagne is already very substantial with all the food groups.

Ha me too, I don’t understand why anyone would have chips with pasta but I know people do, but jacket potatoes with lasagne?? or peas and beans?

BessieSurtees · 06/11/2022 09:08

@CuriousCatfish how can you dip a chip into a slice of pasta, you mean the sauce, so why not just have bolognaise sauce and chips?

Aren’t chips served with lasagne in nearly every pub up and down the land? Plus work canteens etc

Witsendwilly · 06/11/2022 09:09

Quoted wrong person. Was meant to be people amazed by the idea of chips and lasagne

Decafflatteplease · 06/11/2022 09:09

We always have brocolli with lasagne

NoSquirrels · 06/11/2022 09:11

You could also do roasted broccoli or roasted Mediterranean veg - yum! Wish I was having lasagne for dinner today.

AdaColeman · 06/11/2022 09:17

Chips if you are going 70s retro.

GemmaFoster · 06/11/2022 09:17

Definitely a bowl of chips.

Pleiades2020 · 06/11/2022 09:20
