Hot drink for after 8pm

Can anyone please recommend a nice hot drink to have in the evenings? Or the BEST decaff tea you've had?

I can smell and taste the difference in decaf tea and I hate it, currently drinking decaff Tetleys with a screwed up face.

I like my normal tea, strong with a little bit of milk and no sugar.

Anyway, don't want caffeine. Hot chocolates are a bit too rich for regular drinking.

I'm bored of mint tea.

Any other soothing caffeine free suggestions?

I drink lift.. lemon tea at night

MbatataOwl · 12/09/2022 20:21

Horlicks

Essexgirlupnorth · 12/09/2022 20:21

I like the Yorkshire tea bedtime brew has a bit of nutmeg in it.

I also like hot ribena

Sunshineandrainbow · 12/09/2022 20:21

Have you tried yorkshire decaff?

Everylittlethingsgonnabealright · 12/09/2022 20:23

I love Pukka teas - Night Time tea is good. Or Joy or Peace.

or try chamomile - could add a teaspoon or a half of honey.

Twinings strawberry and cucumber is lovely too.

if I’m really really in need of soothing and a sweet hit I go back to childhood and have hot milk with honey!

I have cocoa shell tea. I order a big bag on-line, make by putting a teaspoon or two in a tea-bell thing, I have mine with milk but it's also nice without. It tastes very slightly chocolatey. The cocoa shells are a waste product from chocolate industry.

Sally99 · 12/09/2022 20:24

Hot, warm or cold milk depending on the time of year

PrancerandDancer · 12/09/2022 20:27

I'm enjoying a pukka night time tea right now....

The Tetley decaf is disgusting though. I found the pg tips one much better. Reminds me a bit of Earl Grey

Oh my gosh, I am loving these replies.

I'm reading them all out to DH and he's frantically googling to read reviews 🤣

Yorkshire bedtime brew looks like an either "love it" or "hate it" situation! Tempted to give it a go though. As it looks so soothing.

Strawberry and cucumber tea sounds lovely! So does Lift. Never tried it but always see the tub in the shops!!

I don't think I've tried Yorkshire Decaff....

I love Horlicks but I think it's a bit heavy for my tum. Might get some anyway and have it on a Sunday night as a treat.

Ah thank you! I felt like I was being overly fussy...

I need to get a small bag of Yorkshire Decaf and PG tips decaf and have a tasting night.

My teabag cupboard is going to be FULL isn't it 🤣

Pukka teas are all great - love the night time, cleanse and honey and ginger ones.

RaininSummer · 12/09/2022 20:36

I like redbush vanilla or barleycup.

SBAM · 12/09/2022 20:36

I have twinings mint apple pear and nettle - it’s called super blends vitality.
I also really like liquorice and peppermint but I realise that’s likely to be divisive! It doesn’t taste of liquorice sweets, but it’s naturally sweet and I find it soothing.

Knackeredmommy · 12/09/2022 20:36

I like the Yorkshire decaff with nutmeg, but leave it to brew for a while as I like strong teas.

Chattycathydoll · 12/09/2022 20:37

DD likes clipper bedtime tea, I don’t like the smell and prefer pukka or twinings ‘unwind’

RampantIvy · 12/09/2022 20:38

PG Tips decaff tea. I'm drinking some now. Nothing else hits the spot except for Taylor's decaff ground coffee.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/09/2022 20:38

Tetleys (any) is shite.

Try the Yorkshire Tea decaff.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 12/09/2022 20:38

I really like Clipper decaf tea. It is very soothing.
I'm going to have to try the cocoa shell recommendation up above though!

gogohmm · 12/09/2022 20:38

I drink redbush tea, very sensitive to caffeine so have to avoid after midday. You get used to it

Takingturnstogether · 12/09/2022 20:40

I like Yogi tea, the chocolate one. Not rich like hot chocolate but still comforting.

SalviaOfficinalis · 12/09/2022 20:41

Twinnings camomile and honey flavour is nicer than the plain camomile one. I do like both but the plain one is very medicinal.

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 12/09/2022 20:41

Chai latte? It's milky and comforting, not sure about caffeine levels though, tea pigs make a lovely chai and just add hot milk and sugar if wanted

bettybyebye · 12/09/2022 20:41

Yorkshire tea bedtime brew fan here 🫖

cheapskatemum · 12/09/2022 20:41

Licorice tea, licorice & peppermint tea & vanilla redbush tea are my favourite teas. I also like oat milk, warmed, with vanilla essence.

Icedlatteplease · 12/09/2022 20:41

The Aldi decaff no-one in our household seems to be able to tell apart from regular tea
