Hi babyjj been following this thread with interest as i've got a 19 month old ds and my new year's resolution was to try to cook proper meals for the family - to save money and be healthier. I've picked up some good tips from this thread. My only tip is that i bought the Lorraine Kelly Baby and Toddler Eating Plan (mine was 50p from a charity shop or try your library) and have started using it and it seems good - simple recipes, not expensive and food tastes pretty good at the end. She has sections with menus appropriate to each age group for every couple of months up to a year old, and then food for one year onwards. If you can get hold of a copy you might find it helpful. Well done by the way on coping with everything in your life, I think you are doing great!! I'd NEVER have coped with that much at such a young age. Actually probably wouldn't manage now either!!

To all the people saying to give them cheese, I was told by my HV not to give any dairy until they are 12 months but I also know someone who has given their baby ice cream at 7 months so I think there are different rules for different areas (which is silly)
My HV again said No Purees! Just steamed and mashed vegetables, Finger foods, Pasta, Rice but my friend's HV said different.
