So.... Is anyone interested in a thread where we all say what we are having for tea / dinner depending on where you live, and I can steal your lovely ideas. Hopefully we could share ideas?
We are having turkey burgers in buns with corn on the cob and salad tonight, homemade pizza tomorrow.

We've just had baby new potatoes, grilled peppers and tomatoes and big, fat, rump steaks, cooked rare.
The steaks were given to us yesterday by DH's dad who owns his own farm. He mainly rears pigs, but has a mate who rears beef cattle. FIL gives his mate bacon and sausages from his farm in exchange for these yummy steaks Grin

Dp is making pasta Arabiatta tonight. I'm going to have mine with extra red chillis and a shedload of coriander and flatleaf parsley.

Howaboutthisone · 13/06/2016 18:28

Burgers and chips here tonight. Looking forward to more veg filled things when the shop arrives on Wednesday!

insan1tyscartching · 13/06/2016 21:28

We had cold roast beef from yesterday's roast with salad and nice bread. I really enjoyed mine, dh was less enthralled. We had fruit salad and yoghurt for pudding.

A "Buddha Bowl" type thing from Deliciously Ella - aubergine, black bean and brown rice (I'm really selling this, aren't I). I haven't any spinach left, but I do have some bok choi to use up, so I'll be making a slight alteration to the recipe per the book.

TweeBee · 14/06/2016 17:34

The deliciously Ella book does sound lovely Melanie. Don't think dh would be impressed though, it's meat free isn't it?
We had bacon and sausage to use up so we are having them with mushrooms, beans and potato cakes. I try not to do bacon too much but mmmm the smell!!

I hate cooking and DH has gone on a diet so it will probably be half a mung bean tonight Hmm

MelanieCheeks · 14/06/2016 17:49

It's meat free, gluten free sugar free dairy free! Though easy enough to swap in alternatives.

Yes, I'm only getting to work my way through it cos DH is away this week. I often joke that if you did a Venn diagram of all his favorite foods (fatty meats, pastry, no to anything with bones, ie all fish, no tomatoes, no lemongrass) and mine (Fish! Veg! Spices! ) the overlapping crescent is excruciatingly small. (Prawn biryani, chicken fajitas, baked potatoes with turkey chili feature far too often)

dementedma · 14/06/2016 21:39

We had a sausage and bean casserole tonight. Cheap, but filled hungry people.

neversleepagain · 15/06/2016 09:09

Last night was a sausage and potato bake with carrots and asparagus.

Tonight is chicken fajitas.

Howaboutthisone · 15/06/2016 10:27

Sausage and potato bake sounds lovely. Do you have a recipe you could share?

ACubed · 15/06/2016 10:28

Last night I had sweet potato, goats cheese, avocado, chili and green leaves salad, with heaps of raw onion as my partner's away on a course. Tonight the same but with chick peas instead of goats cheese as I did a whole packet of it yesterday, oops!

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/06/2016 16:08

Chilli dogs tonight with extra jalapeños, American mustard and cheese, I might even use the last of my squirty cheese.

PeterandJudithSurname · 15/06/2016 16:13

I've got a beef stew on the go in the slow cooker with a big hunk of beef, shallots, new potatoes, various other veg, pearl barley. Going to do yorkshires with it.

TheScottishPlay · 15/06/2016 16:13

Macaroni cheese at DS request. The sauce will made from all the odd bits cheese in the fridge.
We'll have it with salad and tomato bread.

It's been a miserable, rainy day here so we are in need of comfort food.

muminthecity · 15/06/2016 16:55

We're having chicken legs and rice with homemade barbecue sauce, salad and coleslaw (also homemade.)

Howaboutthisone · 15/06/2016 17:20

Salmon en croute, chips and salad here tonight.

MyBreadIsEggy · 15/06/2016 17:30

Lazy tea for us tonight (I forgot to get any meat out of the freezer this morning Blush), so it's a massive cheese feast pizza and garlic bread from the Tesco "Big Night In" deal Blush

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/06/2016 17:31

Spanish omelette, padron peppers, salad and nice bread here.

insan1tyscartching · 15/06/2016 17:34

Shepherds pie with peas and carrots here it's been wet and rainy all day and I've been cold so fancy something warm and filling. Baked jammy doughnuts and custard pudding for dessert as they weren't eaten and I can't bear to waste food.

Sunbeam18 · 15/06/2016 18:23

Just tried the smashed tomato pasta! My toddler is onto his second bowl! Unheard of. Awesome!!

neversleepagain · 15/06/2016 21:34

It's not really a recipe, just a chuck in the oven meal. I cut potatoes into large wedges, I leave the skin on just scrub well. 4 whole cloves of garlic crushed, 2 onions cut into large wedges, a pack of good quality pork sausages. Pour over olive oil, salt, pepper and dried oregano.
Put into pre heated oven, gas mark 6, for about an hour. Turn sausages once to brown all over.

PeterandJudithSurname · 15/06/2016 22:10

Sounds lovely

Howaboutthisone · 15/06/2016 22:28

Sounds yum and simple to do. Thanks!

MotherofPearl · 16/06/2016 08:11

I'm trying out some of those Angela Hartnett midweek easy recipes that were in The Guardian a few years ago as I was getting so bored with my repertoire (and I'm celebrating enjoying normal eating again after giving birth 6 weeks ago - had hyperemesis all through the pregnancy).
Last night I did the pork escalopes with an anchovy and caper topping, with fennel and rocket salad. Yum! Tonight I'm trying her pappardelle with peas, broad beans and goats cheese.
