Bonkey - ridiculous isn't it. I am lucky in a way as my council has a 'contact centre' in town, which is a bus ride away, but I rarely go to town so if I have to to and fro each time, just to make sure they physically have something that I've already sent - grrrrr! I know Royal Mail have their issues, but I don't believe they are at fault, it is the council worker's incompetence to blame.

My two were very nearly on ebay this evening but since they went to bed without a fuss at 6pm and were both asleep in minutes, they can stay another day...

Tax credits, I've only had one issue with them, they stopped our claim for 6mnths, oh and the job centre got confused by us moving 110miles for a job which fell through as we unloaded the van so also didn't pay us a penny. That was a fun year! Funnily enough if you mention formal complaints and the press they can backdate to the last payment received and pay in full (around £2000) within the hour!!

I'm not bashing the system at all, I'm ridiculously grateful for it, but when it goes wrong its terrifying!
