DD is 13 and has just declared that she doesn't like movies with death or violence (she never has) and isn't interested in people falling in love with each other. So what else can we watch for family movie night?

All suggestions please

Hidden Figures, or other similar historic real-life tales?

What does she like?

Does she like goodie vs. baddie stuff? Explosions? Comedy?

You’re going to struggle (that’s my comment not the name of a movie)

She doesn't like explosions. Comedy is ok, animals are good, animals dying is very bad.

We liked this and lots of other biopics (eg Erin Brokovitch) but more ideas in this category would be good

Days of the Bagnald Summer

Teenage metalhead angst, saintly patient mum, my dc were laughing at how close to home parts of it were, esp the older one!

Directed by Simon Bird, I think...

Brilliant, although sometimes it feels like someone has been filming in our house😂

I hate romance in movies. A romance storyline is always shoehorned in and it does my head in

A lovely feel good commedy with lots of Dolly Parton

Cheesypasta · 19/09/2024 22:13

Jackie Chan films. All the fights are balletic rather than violent and any love theme is very tame if there at all.

SnowBeagle · 19/09/2024 22:16

Maybe these, but I'm not 100% sure...

  • Finding Nemo
  • Lego movies
  • King Fu Panda
  • Dora the Explorer movie
  • Toy Story
  • Luca
