For me...
Pursuit of Happiness
Elephant Man

There's definitely more but I can't think and I've had 2 gins so I'll be better thinking tomorrow.
But I just saw a clip on LinkedIn from pursuit of happiness and it made me cry just from the clip!

Encanto made me cry, but that was more because I miss the little girl I used to babysit who was obsessed with it.
I saw Inside Out for the first time the other day though, I sobbed from the first five minutes onwards.
I've not seen many disney films and now I'm nervous to watch more because so far they all seem to hit the tear button!

I cry at everything! Most recent one was where the Crawdads sing. Pretty much cried from beginning to end!

Mass - about two sets of parents who meet up for the first time after a school shooting. It was the most fantastic and emotionally upsetting film I have seen in a very long time.

Barrawarra · 14/08/2022 12:26

Many of the above and Requiem for a Dream was first that came to mind. Also the true story one about the family who were in the tsunami - heart hurts thinking about it now!

Of mice and men, the John Malkovich version. I couldn’t stop crying, it was quite alarming for the people I was with.

Bridges of Madison County - such a beautiful beautiful film

TheSoundOfMucus · 14/08/2022 12:46

Rabbit Proof Fence. Snot and everything! Fortunately watched it at home.

Life is beautiful

Marley and Me. DH came home and found me weeping like he'd never seen before. In my defence I was very pregnant at the time 😁

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
Hotel Rwanda

The impossible. Having been to where the tsunami hit 30 years ago and the whole story made me sob.

Jeffica · 14/08/2022 13:58

Grave of the Fireflies 😢balled my eyes out for about 3 hours afterwards and haven't been able to watch it since, despite it being one of the greatest Studio Ghibli movies.
and for some reason...
The Breakup with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, it's meant to be a comedy, but it's not funny, the heartbreak is real.

I second Encanto also,
When they have to take the triplets and run makes me ball like a baby every time and DD always comes and gives me a hug and tells me it'll be okay.

Thanks for the recommendation for Short Term 12 - watched it yesterday and enjoyed.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2022 10:37

Where did it watch it?
It looks quite good from the description.
I hadn't heard of it till this thread

MinglingFlamingo · 15/08/2022 10:58

My Sisters Keeper
Schindler's list
The Notebook

Chuffles · 15/08/2022 11:20

Truly, Madly, Deeply
In the Bedroom
The Sweet Hereafter

SheWoreYellow · 15/08/2022 11:24

AI

Objectively, it’s not the best film, but I was properly sobbing, for ages at the bit with the boy under the water.

Mamadothehump · 15/08/2022 11:30

The first film I cried at was Splash. I think I was 5. I then begged my Mum to let me watch it again and told her I'd be fine as I knew what happened. Cried again!

Other ones that spring to mind are Beaches, Marley and me, A star is born, Armageddon.

OhAmBackAgain · 15/08/2022 11:33

Oh my god I love this film! Haven't watched it for years!

3luckystars · 15/08/2022 11:36

Im going to watch some of these this weekend!

I have cried twice watching Bluey recently, so God help me.

Daisyhoney · 15/08/2022 11:39

Two Brothers - it's a film about 2 tiger cubs who are separated as young cubs and is the saddest film I've ever seen
