For me...
Pursuit of Happiness
Elephant Man

There's definitely more but I can't think and I've had 2 gins so I'll be better thinking tomorrow.
But I just saw a clip on LinkedIn from pursuit of happiness and it made me cry just from the clip!

Dumbo Sad
I also admit to almost crying during The Land Before Time quite recently.

Puzzled why people choose to watch sad films tbh, isn't life sad enough already?

Oh I forgot about The Land before Time, cried as a child and again as an adult 😭

There was this film out years and years ago - about a white horse called Tir na Nog. Sure it was called Into The West.

Balled at that all through my childhood. Don't think I could watch it now.

I remember that one, it was a beautiful film.

I just watched Lion again... sobbed again. So did DH his first time seeing it

mac1974 · 20/08/2022 23:21

Watched Lion this evening. Amazing film. Those poor children. Imagine 80,000 lost children a year. That poor mother losing both of her sons in one night. Very moving.

Atonement. Despite Keira Knightley.

Two Brothers - it's a film about 2 tiger cubs who are separated as young cubs and is the saddest film I've ever seen

That's such a beautiful film 😩

I tend to cry at series when a character dies I'm more involved.

Sweets in Bones
Sybil Downton Abbey
Mike Delfino Desperate Housewives
Will Gardner the good wife
James Wilson House

Me before you
Marley & me
The green mile
Ps I love you
Made the mistake of watching Last Christmas during one of the lockdowns to cheer myself up. The blurb said it was a heartwarming Christmas film!! And a week prior to that I'd watched Remember me (with r patz). My god.

12 years a slave I had to turn off after 20min or so. It was too upsetting. I'm sure it's an amazing film but I couldn't do it.

Also Coco, the end bit with the Remember me reprise.

clopper · 06/09/2022 20:34

Life itself

superoz · 08/09/2022 00:00

I’m sure someone has mentioned it but Hachi: A Dog’s Tale has me blubbing like a baby every single time. It’s usually on TV around Christmas.

Middleagedandcreaking · 09/09/2022 00:09

Posting a link to a clip from a documentary. It's quite famous but I only watched it recently. Made me cry in a good way, so beautiful.

If you don't like clicking on the link search Christian the lion, Born Free

Short term 12. Excellent film.

Cakey46 · 23/10/2022 18:25

Arrival! When you grasp what it's really about it's quite heartbreaking.

ryley · 24/10/2022 14:38

Me before you, The Notebook and Dear John.

Cashelmara · 24/10/2022 14:45

A very old film; Goodbye Mr Chips.

The Bridges of Madison County

I was an absolute wreck coming out of the cinema

I've not seen the film but the book made me cry. Oh and Mr Britling Sees It Through (HG Wells)... I sobbed my heart out reading that.

@cooroo Gallipoli floored me (and I was early 20s too). Had gone on a date with newish boyfriend and I don't think he knew where to put himself! Also Out of Africa.

Out of Africa is my all time favourite film. I want to be in a little plane over Africa with Robert Redford. I only have to hear the music and I want to cry.
