What is the worst film / most crappiest experience you've ever had in a cinema ?

I'll start. I remember watching the zodiac. I was immature and didn't really understand it-- but it was the most boring film I've ever seen in the cinema.

A few years later I watched Never Let me go. The atmosphere at the end was highly depressive

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

Bambi... ... still haunts me, and I daren't go to Richmond Park.
My DM tells me she saw this when a small child and had to be taken out at the part where Bambi's mother died as she was crying so hysterically Grin

AnnaBolina · 08/01/2022 09:29

Either The Royal Tenenbaums or The Life Aquatic

What a fucking waste of an afternoon

@CrackerGal

Worst in recent years? Malignant. "I'm ... adopted" 👀 👁 👀 👁 We were actually laughing through it at points & walked before the end ... anyone whose seen it will get the reference
That film..I was quite liking it till it went slightly bonkers very quickly!!

Happy time murders..some film about puppets and we left halfway because it was just bad bad bad bad. Also seemed to go on and on and on. Think there was still a hour or so to go.

CrackerGal · 09/01/2022 07:18

Yeah it did start out so promising! I was actually wondering afterwards was it meant to be a black comedy. The close ups of their eyes switching from side to side like a demented Eagle eye Action Man was too much 🤣 only no one else in the cinema was laughing 🙈

RoundTheTwister · 09/01/2022 07:36

High-Rise. Total bollocks

MrsLargeEmbodied · 09/01/2022 11:35

TwinkleToesStrikesAgain · 09/01/2022 11:46

Frozen. We were the only people in the cinema which should have been a clue ...

MyfanwyMontez · 09/01/2022 11:47

Interstellar .
The Naked Lunch , walked out of the cinema thinking what the fuck ?

The emoji movie.
My eyes wept blood.

La La Land was one of the worst I've sat all the way through along with the first LOTR film (I managed to get some sleep during the latter). Also Cabin In The Woods - smug, self reverential crap which I couldn't walk out of because I was in the middle of a row at the UK premiere and it was packed. Zola is by far the worst I've seen recently and I only stayed to the end out of disbelief that it could be so shit.

Walked out of Signs, The Core, About A Boy, Free Guy, Scream 3 (I think), Reign Of Fire and God knows how many more. Slept through more still Grin.

All of these are general cinema films - if I started on film festival films I'd be here all week 🤣

Loveacardigan · 09/01/2022 20:37

The revenant. Hated it!

Ohyesiam · 09/01/2022 20:46

@jaundicedoutlook

The Vanishing.

Quite a long time ago now - probably late 90s, and I remember going to the cinema and we couldn’t decide what to see as the film we’d gone for had sold out. This was in the days before booking online was commonplace.

Don’t remember much about the film except it was 2+ hours of tedious cobblers and at the end someone (hopefully it was the director) got buried alive.

Did it have subtitles? And a full twist at the end? Can’t quite remember because I might have been asleep.
teaandtoastwithmarmite · 09/01/2022 20:55

Lord of the rings. Was so boring.

LondonLass61 · 09/01/2022 21:02

I agree about the book - Twas shite.

MajorCarolDanvers · 09/01/2022 21:03

Erik the Viking

KingofQueens · 09/01/2022 21:05

First Lord of the Rings film. I walked out, despite having paid Leicester Square ticket price. I had zero interest in any of the characters and I couldn't have given a shit who did or didn't get the ring.

Alien Resurrection. Packed cinema and my ex and his girlfriend happened to be sat further along the row and I didn't want to shuffle past them, so I sat and worked out how many minutes I might have left to live if I lived an average lifespan, and what percentage of that I had wasted watching this awful film.

lollipoprainbow · 09/01/2022 21:15

I wanted to walk out of gnomeo and Juliet but my dd was loving it, I snoozed through it instead !!

Heartofglass12345 · 09/01/2022 21:22

The cabin in the woods, I fell asleep Grin

The cabin in the woods, I fell asleep Grin
You were lucky! I had to sit through the whole thing wide awake and surrounded by people who thought it was funny and clever Hmm
TeaAndThenMoreTea · 09/01/2022 21:41

Solaris. So boring. Only film we've ever walked out of. Had the choice of staying until the end or missing the last 30 minutes and catching last orders. No contest.
