Worst movie you've ever seen

DH and I just finished watching 'Downsizing' starring Matt Damon and we're baffled.

Legit looked at each other at the end of the movie like wtf was that🤣🤣
The downsizing concept (shrinking people) sounded interesting and had so much potential at the start but then the movie suddenly turns into what feels like a completely different plot about global warming and saving the planet.
What a waste of a good cast too - Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz etc

It's not even bad in a funny way, it's just bad. I was expecting a comedy 😑
It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Hated it so much I started a thread lmao 😂

What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

The new Cruella. Thought it was absolutely shite and my 9 year old got bored and walked away and he loves a film..

supercee · 11/06/2021 21:12
@supercee It starts off good and it's very mysterious, keeps you watching......then it goes down a path that quite frankly there is no coming back from once you've watched it. There's a particular scene that definitely requires the eye bleach afterwards.
I heard it takes a disturbing turn? Usually up for disturbing but think I'll give this one a miss!

LookAtMissOhio · 11/06/2021 21:12

Roma was literally so depressing, I turned it off.

Also My Sister's Keeper was a lot of emotional-blackmail nonsense.

We saw this yesterday and all absolutely loved it! Good storyline, cracking cast and amazing costumes!

The Weatherman, starring Nicolas Cage, it's meant to be a comedy, that's an hour and a half of my life I won't get back.

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 11/06/2021 21:15

'Grease 2' is better than the first one in almost every way.

Agree with a PP - some of these films might be overrated, or overlong, or a bit dull, or just not someone's cup of tea . . . but very few are actually bad films in terms of performances/script/cinematography/production values. I couldn't be doing with 'Black Swan', for example, but it's not a bad film. 'The Garbage Pail Kids' is a bad film. 'Cyborg' with JCVD.

Snakes on a plane
Brightburn
Rob Roy
Apollo 13

SiliconHeaven · 11/06/2021 21:20

Two, Hulk and Little Nicky. Both mind-numbingly awful.

@iloveredwine

Lost in Translation years ago. So awful

BrownEyedGirl80 · 11/06/2021 21:21

Hot Fuzz.Fucking awful.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 11/06/2021 21:21

The Love Guru - awful

SkiingIsHeaven · 11/06/2021 21:21

Lala Land

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/06/2021 21:22

Roma - hours of barking dogs and puddles I will never get back

Adored Cruella - watched it after some TERRIBLE news, and it took my mind off it for the time it was on.

ErykahBaddy · 11/06/2021 21:25

I like Interstellar, but can see why others wouldn't. Same with The Place Beyond The Pines which I bloody love.

Same! I'm so glad I'm not the only one Grin. I watch Interstellar just for the soundtrack tbh.

I'm really struggling to think of bad films. I think I'm pretty good at checking reviews and trailers before I watch a film so I rarely get surprised by an awful one, but I also think I'm just good at forgetting the bad ones!

coffeerose · 11/06/2021 21:25

Paris, Texas. Worst movie ever.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 11/06/2021 21:26

Mamma Mia utter cringe, I couldn’t wait for the end, my friends loved it!

Frangipaniflower · 11/06/2021 21:26

Split with James McAvoy

ErykahBaddy · 11/06/2021 21:26

The Wolf of Wall Street was very overrated but certainly nowhere near the worst film I've ever seen.

Mamascoven · 11/06/2021 21:28

The devils rejects - So strange. Currently on now tv.

Ooh that's a good shout. I stopped watching about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through. I think I can count on one hand the number of films I've actually not watched to the end in my whole life and Roma is one of them.

NinaMimi · 11/06/2021 21:30

Enough with Jennifer Lopez.

It’s just a terrible film about domestic violence. They have a waitress who is a victim of domestic violence but they make it stupid by having her access unlimited funds from some distant father figure. So she jaunts off across country and spends money hiding and costumes etc.

They remove the things that cause drama and issues in real life for domestic violent victims such as dependency and lack of funds. These could be explored in a film.

Also the ending is just silly. I guess it’s supposed to be empowering but it’s not.

A serious issue made into a silly Hollywood film.

RobinHobb · 11/06/2021 21:30

@TheMotherlode

Clearly none of you have watched Sharknado
Oh my god Hahahaha I had blocked it out Yup
Smokeahontas · 11/06/2021 21:31

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Absolute toilet.

girlsallowed21 · 11/06/2021 21:32

@OasthouseAlan

Clearly none of you have seen Jupiter Ascending as that would surely take the no. 1 spot! It's awful and the plot is very wtf. Channing Tatum plays a half dog/half man alien and Mila Kunis is a cleaner who's secretly an alien princess. Yes, really.
This sounds absolutely bonkers. You sometimes wonder how some of these make it to production stage
