Can we? Who has seen it?

Saw it on Friday. Loved loved loved it!

I think Loki and Heimdall are definitely dead, Gamora will be back due to some soul stone trickery, and the jury is out on Vision. I thought he was a goner, but a pp's theory that Shuri downloaded him is very plausible. All the ones that dusted will be back.

It is a testament to my devotion to Cap that even the beard didn't put me off (I heart Chris Evans), and I loved his entrance at Waverley Station. But Thor just owned the whole film - the comedy with the Guardians, the emotional response to everything he's lost, holding open the forge for (not) Peter Dinklage, and an even better entrance than Cap when he arrived on Wakanda. And he's still got the enormously hot new haircutWink

Overall, I was really impressed with how coherent the whole thing was with such a huge cast and so many disparate plot points. I can't wait to see it again - though we'll have to wait for the Blu-ray release now.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 30/04/2018 20:50

I’d love to see the remaining asguardians be welcomed into Wakanda. A combination of their technologies would be awesome!

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 30/04/2018 20:50

But Thor just owned the whole film

Didn't he just!

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 30/04/2018 20:50

.....bold.........fail.......

SouthWestmom · 30/04/2018 20:56

Now watching the second Thor film.

It's full of human characters which is odd. More of a doctor who feel to it , not so much comedy so far.

Thor turns me into a swooning schoolgirl and he's not even my type....

ILikeMyChickenFried · 30/04/2018 20:57

Thor 2 wasn't a great film IMO

SouthWestmom · 30/04/2018 20:57

Oh me too but he is a bit thick
Hilarious in IW

never I took ds to the meet and greet for Civil War, held at Westfield. I saw them all and it was just brilliant. Chris Evans and RDJr came out last and the crowd cheers just took the roof off. Was in the first floor gallery so never got to meet any but had the best view.

SouthWestmom · 30/04/2018 21:05

No it's really boring. He seems to have a girlfriend from earth?

OP posts:
DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 30/04/2018 21:17

Thor 2 gave us emo Loki, for which I am forever grateful.

The films have really upped their game in the last couple of years, Ragnarok, Black Panther and the Guardian films were game changers.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 30/04/2018 21:19

Hey don't knock Thor's girlfriend, that's Natalie Portman. She is fantastic, watch Annihilation on Netflix.

FizzingWhizzbee · 30/04/2018 21:33

Thor 2 wasn't a favourite of mine either. Neither was (perhaps controversially) Civil War, despite the high Cap content.

EventNotInData · 30/04/2018 21:37

I like EmoLoki but apart from that Thor2 is a pile of poo. Civil War however is epic. I love the Cap.

SouthWestmom · 30/04/2018 21:38

I don't want Thor with a girlfriend fgs. He keeps doing special smiles at her. Plus it's really really boring. Switched it off now.

I quite liked civil war. Although it ends with Captain saying he'll come help if need be so not sure why Ironman didn't just call him in IW part 1.

OP posts:
EventNotInData · 30/04/2018 21:40

Because IronMan is a bit of a prat with some kind of macho idiocy going on. He’s just about to ring him when he gets attached by aliens which is why he drops the phone and Banner rings him instead.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 30/04/2018 21:44

Yeah Thor 2 is shit and age of ultron is just meh. But all the others are fab.

Msgame Sounds amazing.

Sticking to the same actors throughout (well most, anyway) has definitely increased the appeal.

I know there's been a gazillion spidermen but i love the way Marvel have treated him. The father-son rapport is just lovely and the humour is spot on.

The only main actor they have changed is edward norton to mark ruffalo (as far as i can recall) and, well, i just think MR is just the cutest thing. Bear

Oswin · 30/04/2018 21:50

Yeah thor 2 is shite. The third one is so.much better. Much m one humor than the first two film too.
Never i agree mark ruffalo is just so cute. Loved the bit where thor comes and he gets so excited Grin

ILikeMyChickenFried · 30/04/2018 21:50

They switched Rhodey early on but before he was really part of anything

ILikeMyChickenFried · 30/04/2018 21:51

I'd like a new hulk film

NotUmbongoUnchained · 30/04/2018 21:51

Does anyone know about what will happen with Fox now that Disney own it? Would be great to have xmen in the mcu!

FrogPie · 30/04/2018 21:52

Jumping headfirst into a convo here but OMG - watched it 26th April as soon as I could. Binged all the movies last year and never really been a huge Marvel fan before that point, hadn't read the comics/unfamiliar with the stories. This movie broke me. Totally broke me. I can't begin to imagine how all the die-hard fans, who have grown up with these movies, feel - I'm heartbroken at losing the characters I love after only a year! sad, I know

I think the ones that disintegrated at the end will return with the time stone (especially Spidey - was sobbing in the cinema after his ending scene) but the ones that died will stay dead. I would LOVE for Loki to return but there's no plans for a Loki movie and technically Loki has had somewhat of a redemption arc w/ Ragnarok so I think he's outlived his purpose iyswim?

Whoever said CA:CW was dull... controversial opinion... but very true. Glad I'm not alone there.

FrogPie · 30/04/2018 21:53

Also, pissed off that they gave Thor his eye back!

AndyPerkins · 01/05/2018 00:09

I bet they will come back at the end of next avengers.

FizzingWhizzbee · 01/05/2018 06:48

Never - no, I thought that about Age of Ultron. It wasn't terrible, but neither was it AMAZING, so was therefore a big let down for me after Avengers Assemble. Such a shame - with Cap being awesome and James Spader in it, it could have/should have been superb.

It made me worry for IW, so glad those worries were unfounded!
