Can we? Who has seen it?

OP posts:
StrangeLookingParasite · 27/04/2018 20:26

We saw it this afternoon. My 12 year old sobbed his sensitive heart out. It was so sad!

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 27/04/2018 21:35

The "snap" deaths will be back - they've all got films left on their contracts but the others I think are properly dead. I think there will be sacrifices made in the next film by some of the original Avengers to bring them back.
Loved the end credit, can't wait for Captain Marvel.
The SM/TS scene at the end made me all annoyed again at TS for bringing a youngster in to all of this.

Whereismumhiding2 · 27/04/2018 21:57

Please tell me who died?
I have got to know!! My DC 10-15 want to see it asap.
I have to know if Capt America dies, any of The Guardians and if Loki does? (Although Loki's died twice now and brilliantly come back!) ... Now I'm worried about new Spideyman.

I have to be able to see to drive us all home afterwards and not stumble out wailing!! Should we be catching the bus?

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 27/04/2018 22:14

whereismum urrrrrmmmmm would be quicker and easier to tell you who didn't die.

bakingdemon · 27/04/2018 22:15

I think Loki, Gamora and Vision are definitely dead but most of the others will come back. No way they're letting Black Panther go given how much money his standalone movie made!

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 27/04/2018 22:16

Noeuf because he had been stuck on Sakaar for two years as hulk.

EventNotInData · 27/04/2018 22:27

My money is on Vision and Loki definitely staying dead (and Heimdal and Valkyrie Sad), Gamora possibly staying dead and all the rest of the dust bunnies absolutely definitely positively getting over their untimely death in the next film.

SouthWestmom · 27/04/2018 22:46

Today's

Thank you!!!! Forgot the beginning bit😳

Interesting that the buzz amongst the kids was that Captain died in this one - although the hideous beard meant I'd have been less sad....😂

Loki; Gamorra; Vision: Who else dies properly and not in an easily resolved way?

OP posts:
afrikat · 27/04/2018 22:48

It was amazing! I'm still processing and a little shell shocked but I agree the snap deaths probably won't stick. The others are gone forever 😢
Brilliant movie and so emotional. Hilarious too!
God I love Thor

Oswin · 27/04/2018 23:46

I watched it with my nephew tonight. I had no words coming out i was that shocked.
Loved banner in this one. He was funny im thor too. Thor was funny, he seem to be more funny since the last film. His and hulks scenes in ragnorock are hilarious.

I think loki is dead dead. Gamorah will be back. There is a third Gotg film. Spideys deffo going to come back.
I have a feeling that all those alive will be the ones to actually die on the next film.

I think for sure cap iron man and thor are gonners.
Did anyone see the valkyries body at the start. I dont know if i missed it. Because i was thinking she might be alive.
When the Gotg pick up thor he sqys half his people are killed. But they are all floating so it must be all. Unless the other half went off with the valkyrie in a ship before thanos.
I hope so i really like her.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/04/2018 00:14

I for sure thought Iron Man was a goner, and I'm absolutely devastated that Starlord is quite literally dust. Rocket crying over Groot broke my heart 😭 Scarlet Witch was just starting to grow on me.

I've never been in the cinema where a audience is so captivated by what's on screen, you could feel the emotions. There were actual tears at the end of it, and from quite a lot of people too! 😮

Oswin · 28/04/2018 00:39

Yeah everyone was silent waiting for the mid credit scene. Then when it didnt happen everyone was in uproar. Bloody good film. I saw it being decribed as from the start being punched then tickled over and over again!

SouthWestmom · 28/04/2018 06:21

Odeon you did see the end credit scene?

OP posts:
EventNotInData · 28/04/2018 06:53

I saw a body right at the beginning of the film that I thought was Valkyrie but a quick google suggests that no one else saw it so I’m probably wrong and maybe she did survive - though I can’t see how.

TheDrsDocMartens · 28/04/2018 07:02

I’m going with TS sacrifice to bring back the dusted people. Links into his conversation with Pepper at the start and why Dr S handed over the stone rather than letting TS die, he had seen how they win.

Gamora and dusted people to survive but Loki Sad and vision gone.

Loved Thor and the Guardians. ‘He’s not a dude, you’re a dude, he’s a MAN’ and that Thor spoke Groot.

Want a Thor/Rocket film.

bakingdemon · 28/04/2018 07:06

Star Lord is a total moron - they could have got Thanos's gauntlet off if he hasn't intervened.

There's a good explanation of what the end credit scene meant here: www.polygon.com/2018/4/26/17274164/avengers-infinity-war-after-credits-end-scene-marvel uk excited about Captain Marvel - feels like a real oversight that none of the 19 MCU films so far have had a female lead.

Paleblue · 28/04/2018 07:20

I am going to cinema this morning to see it with ds. I am sooooo excited!

bakingdemon · 28/04/2018 07:22

I loved Rocket's man crush on Thor and teenage Groot's fascination with Thor's eyeball.

Agree that Dr Strange saw that the only way to defeat Thanos is if he got all six stones.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 28/04/2018 08:42

I was annoyed with Peter Quill but if Dr Strange said that the version we saw was the 1 in 14 million chance then he was destined to be an asshat.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 28/04/2018 08:50

My theory is the “bait and switch” one.

The Avengers that weren’t dusted - Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow and so on - are the old timers. And the actors’ contracts with Marvel are all due to expire with the next film. The ones that were dusted are all the newer ones who have films even definitely in the pipeline still (Spiderman, GOTG crew) or whose contracts still have films left on them (Dr. Strange, Bucky).

So the dusted characters have to return, the undusted ones are expendable. I think by the end of Avengers 4 we might see some kind of exchange having happened, although I haven’t thought through how that would work Grin But my money is on some kind of Dr. Strange trickery - his pre-dusting words (“it had to be this way”) suggests that when he gave the stone to Thanos it was all part of a larger plan.

The “real” deaths - I reckon Loki and Heimdall are gone for good but Gamora will be back (again, she has more films on her contract...) I think there will be some Soul Stone trickery involved there that allows her to be resurrected.

MrsJayy · 28/04/2018 11:44

Saw it last night loved it although it was very busy but I reckon the dust bunny ending will be reversed but I do think Vision who was cracked open like an egg is a goner. Loki and Idris the gatekeeper (always fo get his name) will be back.

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 28/04/2018 14:48

I think Vision may be ok - I think Shuri was downloading him as she was trying to remove the stone.
I think Loki and Heimdall are permenantly dead - I shall have to change my user name.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 28/04/2018 16:19

I will be really pissed if that is the end of Loki, he is the best character in the marvel verse. I think we might see him as a guardian at the gate type thing, like Red Skull was for the Soul stone.

I would love to see a Guardians and Thor film, they were great together, loved Thor and Rocket. I hope Gamora isn't dead dead, too few female characters as it is.

I reckon Doctor Strange has it in the bag, he's seen the future.

God it's going to be a loooooooooong wait till the next one.

KalindaBlack · 28/04/2018 18:33

Fab film and 8 year old ds loved it! Grin

thereinmadnesslies · 28/04/2018 18:38

Would you say that the film is suitable for a 9 year old?
