John Travolta
Bradley Walsh
Bonnie Langford

Now don't laugh! Sometimes you see someone from when you were much younger and then realise that they are REALLY bloody good actors. What would be your nominations?

Bad actors get Oscars too.Bullock and NIC Cage.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 09/06/2016 18:45

Ron Perlman is so ugly though, seriously ugly. Poor sod.

MrsJayy · 09/06/2016 18:54

Ron pearlman what? have you not seen hellboy 2 Grin

Nataleejah · 09/06/2016 20:27

He played quite a few weird looking characters under heavy make-up, but in his own skin he is very attractive. Clay in Sons of Anarchy for example... My instant crush Blush

pineappleeyes · 09/06/2016 20:32

I think Leonardo dicaprio us the best actor of his generation. I love him

MrsJayy · 09/06/2016 20:35

But HB2 is sooo bad its not even good bad Hmm

Nataleejah · 09/06/2016 20:53

HB2 is not bad. Its rather alternative, not exactly for mainstream audiences.

A million miles from Hollywood but I thought Vic Reeves was wonderful as the dad with health problems in Hebburn. Also Chris somebody, with the distintive hair (the stand up comedian who played his son), was good as well.
Also thought Jack Whitehall was brilliant in Fresh Meat.

MargotLovedTom · 09/06/2016 21:06

Chris Ramsey!

YoureSoSlyButSoAmI · 09/06/2016 21:10

Jason Watkins.

Sidge · 09/06/2016 21:15

I always thought of Charlize Theron as just a pretty face until I saw Monster. She was incredible.

Kathy Burke was a comedy actress to me (I couldn't see her as anything but Waynetta or Perry) until I saw her in Nil By Mouth.

Waydugo · 09/06/2016 21:31

Damien Lewis. Always thought he was a bit wooden and cliched in Homeland. Saw him on stage in American Buffalo last year - totally amazing. Completely changed my opinion of him.

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 09/06/2016 21:53

Oh yes Robin Williams in Insomnia, One Hour Photo...but also as that nervous clumsy doctor in Awakenings.

Morgan Freeman never fails me either.

Ladywithababy1 · 09/06/2016 22:04

Haven't RTFT so don't know if he's already been mentioned but Alec Baldwin - makes me cry with laughter in 30 Rock. Incredible comic timing.

Woodhill · 09/06/2016 22:20

Nick Farell - he's very low key but is in loads of things. I saw him on stage in a Terence Rattigan play

BlueJug · 09/06/2016 22:28

Tom Hanks in Captain Phillips. Utterly believable - a difficult thing for someone so well known]

Bradley Walsh - yes - loved him in Law and Order

Leonardo di Caprio - yes
And some others mentioned

stareatthetvscreen · 09/06/2016 22:29

rupert everrett has been fab in everything i've seen him in

TinklyLittleLaugh · 09/06/2016 23:32

Nataleejah Really? I think he is very unattractive indeed in SOA.

Juice on the other hand.

ladybird69 · 09/06/2016 23:49

I'm loving Paul Dano he played a loveable but bumbling prince in war and peace complete with English accent was surprised to find he's American. Then he was a racist thug foreman in 12 yrs a slave complete with deep south accent.
In rl who looks like a twelve year old but boy he's got talent. Hope to see him more.
Robin Williams was best actor ever. I will always love him I saw him in an old Christmas film along with Susan Sarandon not long after he'd died, that's when it hit me just how much we had lost from his passing.

dustarr73 · 10/06/2016 06:59

Shayne Ward in Coronation Street. When he started i was actual surprised at how good he was.

MrsJayy · 10/06/2016 07:40

Oh I love Kathy beurke not enough Kathy on TV IMO

YoureSoSlyButSoAmI · 10/06/2016 07:51

I actually think Kym Marsh is very very good.

MadHattersWineParty · 10/06/2016 07:58

Yes to Kathy Burke! She is very very good. She played Mary I in Elizabeth with Cate Blanchet and she's fantastic, just wish she'd been on the screen for longer!

lurkymclurkerson · 10/06/2016 08:21

Yes to Paul Dano! DP didn't believe me when we watched Little Miss Sunshine and I told him Dwayne was the one with the indestructible glasses in War in Peace.

Also, talking of Little Miss Sunshine - Steve Carrell. Surprisingly good in more serious roles but also has excellent comedic timing.

MrsJayy · 10/06/2016 08:24

Yes she was great in Elizabeth . does Kathy just direct now
