Crap Films You Love Anyway

I'm sure this must have been done before but DS1 is being hard work and I fancied starting a lighthearted thread.

Inspired by the thread about films that make you ugly cry because someone mentioned A.I.

I know A.I. is generally recognised as being utterly crap but I love it. I cry and cry most of the way through but really do just love it!

So, what terrible films do you love? Or films not universally acknowledged as terrible but disapproved of on MN (for me that would be Love Actually)?

Has anyone mentioned Crank? It's amazing. Jaso Statham has to keep his heart racing so does all sorts of mental stuff including having sex in the street and fighting. The triads are also somehow involved. Oh and his name is Chev Chelios. I love it.

Most Hugh Grant films, esp Music and Lyrics.

Along Came Polly - "I am a hippopotamoose and zer is nothing I can do about it Smile

My Best Friend's Wedding

I also love Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but that's probably just me.

kipperdippery and ShiftyLookingBadger oh goodness, me too! I was so chuffed to see they are going to be showing The Breakfast Club at a cinema in Leicester Square in March!

I also love kids films like Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Sabrina Goes to Rome, Sabrina Down Under, The Parent Trap 1, 2, 3 and 4!!!!! And Gidget

Love the old John cusak films like one crazy summer and better off dead
Blush

GreedyDuck · 18/01/2017 15:18

Con Air, stone cold classic. Cage with a mullet and a white vest, Cusack being funny and hot, Malkovich being evil and funny, psychopath Buscemi singing 'He's got the whole world in his hands' with the little girl at the end. Just marvellous.

Legally Blonde and The Proposal (and I usually run very fast in the opposite direction to anything even slightly romcom).

I love love love crap films!
best absolute bad film for me is Showgirls
its terrible, semi pornographic and yet I have watched it tons of times to cheer myself up

goingonabearhunt1 · 30/01/2017 12:52

vimto i love Showgirls! Grin

Also love:

Love Actually
Flashdance
Save the Last Dance
Footloose
Dirty Dancing (actually anything involving dancing) Grin

Too many bad horror films to mention.....

I'm not sure I count Dirty Dancing actually as I don't actually think it's a bad film, I think it's underated.

Chicago ( though i don't think it's crap )

PageStillNotFound404 · 06/03/2017 04:33

Chicago is definitely not crap! It's a stellar film though, one of my all-time favourites.

I love a few that have been already mentioned - Coyote Ugly was the first one to spring to mind; also Music & Lyrics and 27 Dresses. A few that haven't been noted yet that I adore are The Craft (YA witchcraft shenanigans), The Mummy & The Mummy Returns (I've seen them both so many times I'm practically word perfect Blush ) and a low-budget British film of about 20 years or so ago called Shooting Fish, starring Kate Beckinsale before she went to Hollywood. It's corny and a bit cheesy but I loved it so much I bought the DVD.

Good Burger.

It's quirky and daft and has become a cult movie.
