Crap Films You Love Anyway

I'm sure this must have been done before but DS1 is being hard work and I fancied starting a lighthearted thread.

Inspired by the thread about films that make you ugly cry because someone mentioned A.I.

I know A.I. is generally recognised as being utterly crap but I love it. I cry and cry most of the way through but really do just love it!

So, what terrible films do you love? Or films not universally acknowledged as terrible but disapproved of on MN (for me that would be Love Actually)?

If you want a sobfest crap film, you have to see Somewhere in Time. Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour - 1980, I think. Is on Amazon. I HOWL every time.

shanhill · 29/06/2016 08:01

Showgirls is one crap movie I enjoy watching again. Don't shoot me!!!

PinkyofPie · 06/07/2016 00:14

Crazy Stupid Love is excellent, as is Weddng Crashers, I never get bored of watching them.

Grease 2 is pure genius, it's not very good just hilarious, especially the bit where Jonny Nogerrelli gets on his knees down the bowling alley screaming WAAAAAHAAAHAAHAAAA!!! Grin

PinkyofPie · 06/07/2016 00:22

Showgirls is a good one but the rape scene is horrific Sad

viviantaylor666 · 07/07/2016 10:08

Rat Race.

twinkletoedelephant · 07/07/2016 10:16

I love D.A.R.Y.L too :-)

And any end of the low budget made for TV film...... especially dodgy special effects

toadgirl · 18/07/2016 16:48

Good Burger.

It's so corny and bad it became a cult classic.

echelon · 23/07/2016 00:42

I love crap disaster movies, they're my total guilty pleasures.

The Core
Twister
Dante's Peak
Vertical Limit
Armageddon
Tremors (Kevin Bacon was never sexier)

GertrudeSmellsDivine · 23/07/2016 00:43

Love Actually though I see its crapness.
I'll get my coat

SinisterBumFacedCat · 23/07/2016 01:23

I fucking LOVE Clue! Although I am the only other person has seen it. Clever ending. And Tim Curry! Blush

Anyway also...

Wild Things - So many red herrings it's still explaining the plot in the end titles. Denise Richards as a school girl with fake boobs and Kevin Bacon gets his nob out, or does he?!! yes he does

French Kiss - Kevin Klien as a sleazy French criminal, neurotic Meg Ryan, Paris, Vineyards, Nice.... Like a micro holiday.

Fans of Shite films might want to check out a funny as fuck cheap as fuck film called The Contenders Series 7. I love that film It had me in stitches.

2nds · 23/07/2016 01:32

Pinky I love in grease 2 the pure cringe moment when Michelle pfeifer jumps but looks like she falls off the set during cool rider and the pure cheesy moment when she dances her way across the road during the song fade out with all the extras just standing about and not even noticing her lol.

cariboo · 23/07/2016 01:38

National Lampoons Animal House. I watched it again the other day on Netflix.

2nds · 23/07/2016 01:40

Twinkletoedelephant it sounds like you might like Spiders, it's a low budget classic. I bought it on dvd for my brother and we just howled with laughter from start to finish, it was the best £1 I ever spent.

2nds · 23/07/2016 01:43

I give you spiders m.imdb.com/title/tt0203940/

Enjoy

nettie · 23/07/2016 08:33

We love Clue here too! It gets regularly quoted from especially the "one plus two, plus etc" bit.

user1469376681 · 24/07/2016 21:25

Grease 2
I can quote it word for word, sing all the songs (even the different version of Do It For Our Country off the soundtrack).
It's horrific and cheesy but it's brilliant! Michael is also so much hotter than Danny!!

Supergirl
The acting is terrible, the storyline sucks but I love it! I can also quote it word for word even after all these years!

The Monster Squad
Wolfmans got nards!!
Brilliantly bad and so underrated

hollyisalovelyname · 10/09/2016 19:10

Love actually .
I love it

freethebiscuit · 24/09/2016 20:31

Loads above that tank amongst my favourites! An IMDb lambasted mega- love of mine is Cocktail SmileStar

freethebiscuit · 24/09/2016 20:35

Oh and Chalet Girl. The Cutting Edge. Something Borrowed. Leap Year. He's just not that into you. This thread is where I'll be getting my next few months worth of re-watches from! Grin

Flanderspigeonmurderer · 24/09/2016 20:44

Jingle all the way
The great outdoors

MotherofPearl · 24/09/2016 20:44

I'm a sucker for those stupid cheesy Jim Carey films from the late 90s. Blush Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls
Dumb and Dumber
Can't explain why I find them so funny, especially seeing as I normally don't enjoy comedy!

AdmiralData · 27/09/2016 14:43

sinister we saw Clue on Netflix! Absolutely fantastic film. Not cheese and certainly not bad at all.
Nothing with Jim Carrey in is cheesy either. Ace Ventura is quoted like the bible in this house!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 27/09/2016 14:49

Dude, Where's My Car and Freddie Got Fingered are both really funny.

Never met another person who likes them.

MotherofPearl · 27/09/2016 18:44

Also, Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo Blush
I know it's vile, I just can't seem to help myself.
