Crap Films You Love Anyway

I'm sure this must have been done before but DS1 is being hard work and I fancied starting a lighthearted thread.

Inspired by the thread about films that make you ugly cry because someone mentioned A.I.

I know A.I. is generally recognised as being utterly crap but I love it. I cry and cry most of the way through but really do just love it!

So, what terrible films do you love? Or films not universally acknowledged as terrible but disapproved of on MN (for me that would be Love Actually)?

Pineapple Express, I love it

Hobbes8 · 04/06/2016 21:29

I'm watching San Andreas right now. Awesome.

Candy - 60s weird trippiness experience

ZansForCans · 25/06/2016 19:22

Legally Blonde Blush
Mamma Mia Blush Blush Blush
Any really cheesy, predictable shite romcom, even better if there's a tearjerking part too.

Four Weddings and other RC guff - I like to watch just to kind of enjoy the cringing (and to genuinely enjoy Emma Thompson in Love Actually)

Music and Lyrics came to mind immediately when I saw this thread. I love it. It's so awful but so good. I had my first kiss whilst watching it too, ahh the memories Blush another is American Dreamz or The Perfect Man (which has actually been on the last few weekends)

That1950sMum · 25/06/2016 19:40

Hot Tub Time Machine is NOT a crap film. It is comedy genius!!

I love a sweeping epic. The Last Samurai, Last of the Mohicans, The Patriot.

FurryLittleTwerp · 25/06/2016 19:40

Deep Impact - I remembered Grin

Newes · 25/06/2016 19:42

Awww, The Last Mohican I will find you!

DH still says that when we go off shopping in different directions. Complete with heroic stance.

Debbie532 · 25/06/2016 19:44

I love P.S I love you, everyone else I know says how lame and bad it is but I have to watch it everytime it's on! X

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 25/06/2016 19:46

I love the cheap 80s slashers like Slumber Party Massacre and The House on Sorority Row. Pure bliss. The kills are fun, the girls are gorgeous in a lost, natural kind of way, and the men are all sinister as fuck to make it one big guessing game!! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2016 19:48

Wayne's World
She's Having a Baby
Mannequin

Zebrasinpyjamas · 25/06/2016 19:54

I love so many of the films already mentioned! My faves are Coyote Ugly or How to lose a guy in 10 days. Predictable but fun.

MartyrStewart · 25/06/2016 19:55

Kindergarten Cop.

The Brady Bunch
the Flintstones
Swopped-baby-at-birth films you get on the film channels

Love a lot the films mentioned above, and often record them to watch when ironing

SlinkyVagabond · 25/06/2016 19:58

Burlesque. I did skip through the "story" and just watch the dance scenes by the end.
Mommy Dearest. It's got everything. Except a good dance scene.
There's a particularly promising one on Netflix I think it's called Diamonds and something, the Jayne Mansfield story. It got 4 5 star reviews, particularly citing the fabulous acting. I watched 10 minutes and oh my goodness! Can only think the directors mum has Netflix.

SatsukiKusakabe · 25/06/2016 20:04

Coyote Ugly came straight to mind. I sort of hate it but seem not to be able to help watching it whenever it's on Confused

There is a Dolph Lundgren film directed by John Woo where the main character has a phobia of the colour white. It is genius (it is not genius).

Anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger in a fish out of water role.

Outrageous Fortune.

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Wedding Crashers.

I would also like to say Role Models, but I actually in my heart of hearts think that is a good film but one I feel embarrassed about loving Blush

SatsukiKusakabe · 25/06/2016 20:06

Yes! Overboard and Private Benjamin - also the one with Goldie as a football coach.
