Damian Lewis is the favourite to play the next James Bond. What do you think?

I know most secret agents probably look like John Major but I do think the fictional ones at least should be suave and sophisticated. Damian Lewis looks as though he should be working for the council, in charge of assigning allotments or something equally as dangerous.

I just can’t imagine him arse kicking and seducing his way across the world in pursuit of the baddies. He looks as though he'd stop mid scrap to tell the villains that his bad hip was at him and could they please reschedule.

I know he's a comedy actor but the phone jacker guy would look dastardly in a tux behind the wheel of a posh car.

Who was the man who played Mr Wickham in Death Comes to Pemberley? Him. Or Harry from Silent Witness.

Whatever happened to Joseph, the lesser Fiennes? He was everywhere in 2001 and then...nothing.

TBH I would go for most of those listed here. Elba, RP-J [swoon], Gruffud, Isaacs, Owen.

But Damian Lewis? By all things good and holy, for fucks sake NO.

Just throwing him out there. His voice is perfect for a bond, not sure about the look though.

Definitely would love to see Michael Fassbender as the next Bond.

Did you see him in X-Men First Class? It was like a perfectly executed audition for the part. He was suave and menacing all at once. He even looked good in the 1970s gear, so I could see them digging up all of Sean Connery and Roger Moore's strange one-piece flying suits etc. It would be a sensation.

Fiennes minor's eyes are too close together and his head is no wider than his neck. That's just wrong for Bond.

Hot theoretical, very hot.

Have never really gotten the Idris-love. He doesn't enunciate enough. Luther is just one long stream of sounds to me.

The lesser Fiennes imdb CV makes for sad reading. A lot of TV movies and TV shows.

Ah good it's still pics of hot men good actors. Jason Issacs would be a fantastic Bond. 52 is definitely not too old for anything Bond does including the sexiness.

Rufus Sewell is too pretty, I mean I wouldn't chuck him out of bed but too pretty for Bond.

I love Ralph and Ben Wishaw in it, both are excellent.

Jason would also make a great baddie.

Jon Hamm might work if he could manage the accent convincingly.

The age thing is problematic though- I assume the actors have to sign up for a certain number of films, let's assume three? If they crank one out every three or four years, our dashing Mr Isaacs would be gone 60 by the end of his tenure, and we'd be wincing at all the punishment he'd be taking in the action scenes.
