Damian Lewis is the favourite to play the next James Bond. What do you think?

I know most secret agents probably look like John Major but I do think the fictional ones at least should be suave and sophisticated. Damian Lewis looks as though he should be working for the council, in charge of assigning allotments or something equally as dangerous.

I just can’t imagine him arse kicking and seducing his way across the world in pursuit of the baddies. He looks as though he'd stop mid scrap to tell the villains that his bad hip was at him and could they please reschedule.

Tom H is too big a name (but not physically big enough!) plus I don't think he could do another franchise if there's any more Loki in the bag which I sincerely hope there is, plus he's a bit young.

Slight?? Have you seen the promo pics for him as the Red Dragon in Hannibal??? He's 6' 2 and built like a brick shithouse these days! And he certainly wasn't nice as Thorin Oakenshield, or in the Crucible.

I vote for Idris Elba. Or a woman – Rebecca Hall is classy and cool although possibly a bit young. Or Janet McTeer –possibly too old but she'd kick arse.

Fassbender looks the part but isn't a great actor, IMO then again neither is Daniel Craig

Tom Burke would be awesome. Would bring the wry humour that Connery used to have.

Tom Hiddleston would do the suave stuff v well but actually I'd rather see him play a really nasty Bond villain.
