Is the trans movement trending out?

Reading another thread prompted this. As a teacher, I have noticed that there are no trans kids this year. I teach in a middle school in europe: 3 years corresponding to years 8 - 10 (!). As the last academic year ended, the last trans kids left the school. No new ones coming through the school.

Has it trended out amongst the kids, leaving the older teenagers / twenty somethings? Then in 20 years' time only the hardcore, like seeing an 60-year old punk?

Last year this came up in PSHE. Dd (state girls school) spoke up and said people can do whet they want but girls need single sex spaces. ALL the class agreed. Middle aged female teacher got weepy and said “I’m not allowed to say that but I’m so proud of you girls”. My work is done!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm an academic and it's definitely phasing out at universities [among students]
I teach a subject related to women but where students can choose their own research focua. Since 2019(ish) I've had a handful of projects every year focusing specifically on trans women, how tough life is for them 🤔 Even students focused on actual women would have a blurb about how "women" is a social construction bla bla.
For the last two years, nothing. No projects on trans women and only a couple of hand-wringing attempts define "women".

Staff, OTOH, are a different matter. Lots of retweeting gender bollocks and pronouns in signatures. Mostly fat, balding 40-something men. Not a group our freshers are hugely keen to be aligned with 🤣

Which country is this ?

Don't hold your breath. They have been asked several times to clarify which country they invented but we're still waiting.

ArabellaScott · 15/02/2025 15:09

Astrid never did come back to tell us about this country. Oh, well.

Can't speak for the older ones, but it is definitely fading out amongst children and younger teenagers in my bit of London. I work clinically with this age group, and during the height of the pandemic it was starting to seem unusual to see an autistic girl who didn't identify as NB or trans. Less common now. We still have a few cats (not an urban myth in my experience) but the trajectory is downwards each year. I'm cautiously hopeful that we are at the beginning of the end.

No it's not a myth! 🐈‍⬛

DD has a couple of 'furries' in her school year 8. They play cats on the field in the summer and wear tails. DD and her mates are older and slightly bemused by it but put it down to their age.

MrsPepperpotsCat · 15/02/2025 22:23

@strangeandfamiliar Sorry I meant to say I agree with you.

ArabellaScott · 16/02/2025 07:14

We had a therian, but I think she may have gotten over it.

Imagine someone ploughing popping onto a thread with nonsense statistics!

Never seen such a thing. 🤨

Wimpod · 16/02/2025 18:23

Random extra word there, sorry. No ploughing occurred. 😳

BarneyRonson · 16/02/2025 18:28

Those Scientologists on Tottenham Court Road and the orange dressed Hare Krishna disappeared too. This brainwashing was even weirder than those, thank goodness the zeitgeist has shifted.

Locutus2000 · 05/02/2025 22:10

Shame. Those poor blokes will have to prance about in private now with their willies encased in leather and their buttocks hanging out.

Yeah, 2025! Get those gays back in their box. Fuck me.

Why are you equating gay men, with men who expose themselves with fetish wear. Are you claiming they are one and the same?

ForPoliteHam · 06/03/2025 23:22

Moomoola · 04/02/2025 22:34

I hope so. We lost our daughter to it.

I remember your thread on here.

How are you doing these days?

It’s strange.. females tend to be the most supportive.
And then scream blue murder when men are in their changing rooms and winning their sports medals.
It’s as if they can’t connect the dots…

Edited

It's almost as if females are conditioned from birth to be more accepting of things even when it's to their detriment.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 08/03/2025 11:10

AstridFahan, having 20% of trans people die by murder/suicide does not sound like a culture of success!

I remember reading that even here, suicide and depression remain high in those who transition. It is as if there were a different problem underlying the desire to trans and that this is not being addressed in your country or ours.

The latest study released on this shows very clearly that mental health doesn’t improve with these treatments and actually gets worse. But this study is in a line of papers, clinician testimony and other studies that have shown this. However all that has been ignored because it is inconvenient to acknowledge this.

I saw wider family today, who I rarely see ue to distance. I was surprised how open they were about the damage of DC being pushed towards accepting the gender ideology. They even knew about the furries side of things.
I was able to agree with them without worrying that I would be told I was unkind for knowing what women are.
I think the movement will fizzle out not soley because of people who want sex based rights and equality over ideology, but because parents (mothers and fathers) are looking out for DC and normalising conversations that DC can be themselves and not follow an ideology.

Hi forpoliteham thanks for asking!
I’ve actually no idea how to answer! Still no contact.
I cant begin to describe effect it has had on us.
Hugs to everyone suffering because of this stuff.
